The Maid (1990, TV) (Part 2)

Part 2 of the TV movie from 1990. Anthony Wayne (Martin Sheen) is a banker who relocates to France to work for a new firm, only to fall head over heels in love with a woman he sees out in the streets one day (Jacqueline Bisset). Determined to track her down, he finds her at an apartment, but is mistaken for a daily help and hired to look after the flat while she's out - and her problem child (a pre Queen's Nose Victoria Shalet). As he begins to make progress with both mother and child, he discovers that Bisset is actually his work colleague at the firm - which wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the fact that Bisset belives the new arrival is there to take her job!

As it is Victoria Shalet's birthday today (December 9th) I thought I would upload one of her hard to find screen works for today. It's a great role for her and one she clearly enjoyed playing, judging by comments she made about it. Among the other cast in this romantic TV movie are James Faulkner as a love rival, and Jean-Pierre Cassel as Bisset's boss. It was also known under the title Un Amour de Banquier in France, and was released in cinemas on December 10th 1990. The sound quality is a bit up and down, and it is either when it was broadcast, or it is the film's original soundtrack.
