00:02 - We gotta start with the NBA.
00:07 We're in Vegas, we've got this doubleheader
00:09 NBA in-season tournament.
00:12 Winners are gonna play on Saturday night
00:13 for the first champion of this thing.
00:17 Listening to all these guys,
00:19 they're either all saying the right things
00:20 or they actually do care.
00:22 I mean, Giannis said, you know, being the first to win it,
00:25 Jordan's never won it, this guy's never won it.
00:27 I think it matters to some guys with legacy aspect.
00:30 And I think it does for LeBron,
00:32 even though he's not showing it.
00:33 I think it would mean a lot for him
00:35 to be the first one to ever win this thing as well.
00:37 - Giannis is a hard guy not to like, man.
00:39 I gotta tell you.
00:40 - He's great, great guy.
00:41 I love listening to him.
00:42 He's great.
00:43 - So even to get to the semifinals now,
00:47 you got $100,000, right?
00:49 There was a lot of talk about the 500,000 to the winner.
00:51 So they told Giannis,
00:52 hey, you know, what do you think?
00:54 You got $100,000.
00:54 You know what he said?
00:56 The rich just got richer.
00:57 (both laughing)
01:00 He goes, hey, the rich got richer, man.
01:02 And he started laughing.
01:03 But it's hard.
01:04 And I saw what Giannis said too.
01:05 He goes, I'm gonna do something
01:07 that Jordan and Kobe have never done.
01:09 Win a championship and an in-season tournament,
01:11 which means I'm the best player ever.
01:13 Right?
01:14 And like he says it where like, you know,
01:16 you just, you know, it's hard not to like the guy, right?
01:19 - Yeah.
01:19 - So as you stated, you and I talked about it.
01:22 They're all in.
01:23 And I think there's something to be said too.
01:24 I saw the smile on Lillard's face after the game
01:27 when the team was huddling up.
01:29 It's a buzz for him, bro.
01:31 His college team wasn't good either, Carver, right?
01:33 Weber State wasn't good.
01:35 He's never really, you know what I mean?
01:36 Blazers had a couple of runs, you know what I mean?
01:38 But like-
01:39 - Never won anything.
01:40 - Yeah, he's like, oh my God.
01:41 I'm actually winning huddle after a game, man.
01:44 This is pretty cool.
01:45 So you saw, and I think they wouldn't mind that.
01:47 Hey, welcome to Milwaukee.
01:49 You see what we do here?
01:50 We win here, right?
01:51 You know Giannis is in.
01:53 Halliburton's talking about a banner.
01:55 He's talking about, I talked about it before.
01:58 He said in a tournament last week,
02:01 he said, this is the first NBA game I've ever played in
02:04 that meant something.
02:05 Point blank, that's what he said.
02:07 He goes, I've never played an NBA game
02:08 that meant something before.
02:09 And he was all fired up.
02:11 Now the debate is,
02:12 do you hang an in-season tournament banner up
02:15 if you win the championship?
02:16 And I say you do.
02:17 You hang divisions.
02:18 People are hanging division titles up.
02:20 I wouldn't hang division titles up,
02:22 but people hang division titles up.
02:23 Now, if you're hanging a division title up,
02:25 you're putting the in-season tournament.
02:27 I got no problem with hanging a banner up.
02:30 But, and how about this, Carver?
02:32 So why though, great job by the NBA.
02:35 We always roll our eyes at the NBA all the time.
02:38 Kobe ending, 24 points.
02:39 What, oh, what, oh, this is amazing.
02:42 In-season tournament, this is the stupidest.
02:44 Oh, this is amazing.
02:45 Right, like, we give silver credit,
02:47 but, but why the hell do you go through all this trouble
02:51 to then have the game at five o'clock Eastern time?
02:53 - Well, I asked this last night as well,
02:56 and I got the answer, believe it or not.
02:57 There was somebody who heard me screaming about it
03:00 with Joe on the radio before you get on at night
03:03 with Carver and Leecey.
03:04 And somebody got back to me and said,
03:06 the reason it's five and nine East is because Gabe,
03:10 it's a split ticket.
03:11 It's not one ticket for both games.
03:14 So they got to let everybody in for the first game.
03:17 And when it's over-
03:18 - So they need an hour to clear out.
03:20 - Yeah, and then let the people with the tickets
03:23 for the second game in.
03:24 - So let's just call it off for what it is.
03:26 Dude, the Pacers-Bucs game is like the JV game.
03:29 All they care about is the Lakers.
03:31 - Right.
03:32 - So like, wow.
03:34 So it's funny how the Lakers aren't at two in the afternoon.
03:37 Right? - Yeah.
03:38 - It's like, all right, we'll put them, you know what I mean?
03:40 I'm just stating.
03:41 So, but it has a residual effect.
03:43 Listen, I wish I was there.
03:45 I lived in Vegas, and if I didn't have the shows,
03:48 whatever, I'd be all lit up in there, Carver.
03:50 It's $20 to get into the Pacers game, bro.
03:52 (upbeat music)
