00:03 - Here's Brian Cashman just a couple of hours ago,
00:05 very happy about the deal.
00:07 And does he want to sign him long-term?
00:09 Here's Cash.
00:10 - How important was the Soto move
00:12 to the future of this franchise in your mind?
00:15 - Well, as you know, the future's always now.
00:19 So 24 is our focus and trying to become
00:23 that last team standing once again,
00:25 as we've done in years gone by, that's the focus.
00:29 So, you know, that's really,
00:33 that's what the Yankees are all about is obviously
00:35 what's, how's best to position us for 24
00:39 and how best generally to position us
00:41 for our very next season.
00:42 - There's been any indication that Soto
00:44 and Scott Boris would be willing to talk
00:46 about an extension before he hits free agency?
00:48 I know that's typically not what Boris clients do, but.
00:53 - I haven't had any conversations regarding that.
00:55 So we understand that he's a present
00:59 at the end of this term.
01:00 And, but, you know, we understand
01:04 that it's a possible short-term situation
01:06 and I know he's just gonna make our team
01:08 significantly better, but it's not gonna be just him.
01:12 We gotta continue working at what else we can add
01:14 to this roster.
01:15 - Yeah, I think Joe, they gotta put the full court press on
01:21 and make sure they do resign him.
01:23 Obviously, you don't want the guy
01:24 on the other side of town,
01:25 who's got a lot more money getting an opportunity
01:29 to bid against you.
01:31 But either way, Yankees are back potentially for now.
