It's Christmas Jumper Day when people put on their colorful, ugly, and bright sweaters for charity
But it's not just us humans in festive wear our four-legged friends are joining in on the fun too

00:00 Meet George, the six year old whippet from Headcorn.
00:06 He's a sightown.
00:07 They have little fur and fat, so they have to be kept warm.
00:12 His chosen outfit today is rather festive.
00:16 George's owner runs a whippet clothing company.
00:20 So we've got the PJs, which is what George is wearing.
00:23 And the idea is that then you can slip over the little jumper, the festive jumper that
00:26 goes over the top when you go out for your Christmas day walk or your boxing day walk.
00:31 And when you get home, they've just got to take the jumper off and they've still got
00:33 their PJs on.
00:34 Because whippets do love to lounge around.
00:36 They do feel the cold even in the house.
00:39 But every year for the last three years, we have done a Christmas jumper.
00:42 And this is the first year we've done sort of an outfit.
00:45 All their products are made handmade on this site.
00:49 Big rolls of fabric are rolled out, jacket patterns marked and cut and then sewn together.
00:55 So then, yeah, you've got these little fleece.
00:58 Before being packaged up and shipped all over the world.
01:03 I've been working for Debbie for 10 years.
01:05 We were friends first before I started working here.
01:08 And it was on a voluntary basis because I'd just moved to Kent, didn't know anybody apart
01:12 from Debbie.
01:13 And I said I'd come and give her a hand.
01:16 And the rest, as they say, is history.
01:18 Whippets come in different sizes and that leaves some off cuts.
01:23 But these blankets are made with discarded fabric.
01:26 They say it benefits charity as well.
01:28 So it's going to just whippets for rescue.
01:30 But also there are even smaller pieces of fabric that we don't want to throw away.
01:36 So the smaller ones, I'm just about to make a whole batch for Dogs Trust because they
01:40 desperately need blankets for their dogs.
01:43 So we try and make nothing go to waste.
01:47 But it's not just us getting into the Christmas spirit, it's our four-legged friends as well.
01:53 Whippets like George have to be kept warm.
01:56 Why not with a Christmas jumper?
