00:16 Well, we are here in the COP and we know that we are all worried about the climate change.
00:26 And transportation is one of the biggest contributors to this problem.
00:30 So it is very important that we have a day of transportation here.
00:33 And it is very important that we discuss all the things that we have to do.
00:38 I think that the situation is clear. We have to change our behavior.
00:42 But for that, we have to convince people to use different ways to move
00:47 and get the car out of the equation.
00:49 But for that, we need to provide them with real solutions.
00:53 And we need to provide them with real solutions.
00:56 And we need to invest in that.
00:59 And we need to invest in our public transportation networks.
01:04 And in Portugal, we are working very hard to invest 8,000 million euros since 2016.
01:12 And part of that is in real infrastructure.
01:15 And part of that is in financing the prices of public transportation.
01:19 And these are two very important areas.
01:22 And let us clarify that.
01:24 4,800,000,000 euros is about 2.5% of the total local revenue.
01:30 So it is a huge investment and it takes time.
01:33 And that is the problem.
01:35 The solutions that we implement on the ground will be available to all citizens.
01:40 I hope to see the real difference that these new networks will bring.
01:45 And that is our philosophy.
01:47 We need to do that to make our local authorities more capable
01:52 and more capable of making decisions for our citizens.
01:55 Because in the transportation sector, the one-size-fits-all principle is the best.
02:00 If it is a solution that is multi-sectoral, with huge investments,
02:04 with fair prices, and is a way to make public transportation easier to use.
02:10 That is the main thing.
02:12 The private sector is involved in this.
02:15 At the moment, we have privileges for public transportation,
02:18 especially in the field of land transport,
02:20 and some of them in railways and railways.
02:23 Whether it is the public sector or the private sector.
02:26 It is involved in all the processes of building all the networks that we build here.
02:30 And so this is the society.
02:32 This is not a single responsibility of the government and the local authorities.
02:36 And we need companies from all fields,
02:39 related to transportation, construction, transportation, services, technology, and innovation.
02:44 We are all involved.
02:46 We must have commitments and we must do that.
02:49 We will achieve good solutions only with big commitments.
02:54 It is about 24%, so it is a lot, as we know.
02:58 And we are committed to a low target of 55% until 2030.
03:03 And for this reason, we sometimes feel like we have not yet achieved the results.
03:07 But I truly believe that we will achieve them
03:10 when all the solutions we implement become available on the ground.
03:14 In 2024, we will start to obtain real alternatives for citizens
03:19 that will allow them to make positive choices
03:22 and change the way they act.
03:25 Technology, innovation, we are all involved and we must have commitments.
03:31 And we must -- only with big commitments we will achieve good solutions.
