Taysom Hill discusses the Saints' loss to the Lions and how the team found rhythm in the second half.
Transcript
00:00 Did you like the way the team responded to the early deficit?
00:05 >> Yeah, for sure.
00:07 Yeah, for sure.
00:07 I think that shows signs of the character of your team.
00:13 What are you gonna do when you get down early and face some adversity?
00:17 And I thought guys battled and
00:21 gave us opportunities to win that game.
00:25 To get close again and not get there.
00:30 How difficult is that stomach each and every week?
00:37 >> I mean, yeah, it's frustrating.
00:38 I think guys have been around this league for a little while.
00:45 You realize how competitive this league is and you look at the games and
00:50 we had a couple turnovers that cost us points.
00:55 And you start making mistakes like that when it's as competitive as it is.
01:02 That's hard to do.
01:04 So it is frustrating.
01:08 I think there's a lot of good things that you can take from a game like this.
01:12 And we already talked about the character of the leadership of this team.
01:16 And one thing I know about this team is there's no giving up in the locker room.
01:22 Everyone's gonna keep fighting.
01:24 >> Is this as much- >> A sense though that you're kind of
01:27 running out of time though?
01:28 I mean, you're at five.
01:29 >> I mean, look, I think as you look at sports world and life and
01:38 everything else, I think you realize you control as you can control.
01:42 So as we look forward, our mindset goes to next week and
01:48 what have we got to do to win next week and that's all we can control.
01:53 And make sure that we put ourselves in a situation at the end of the season that
01:58 we have an opportunity to get to the postseason.
02:01 >> Is this as much as that mindset has ever been tested that you can recall being
02:05 here with three straight losses, the score on the scoreboard, the atmosphere in the dome,
02:11 trying to stay confident?
02:12 >> I mean, yeah, it's been a tough year to lose
02:19 some of these games that we've lost, the way that we've lost them.
02:24 But as we've talked about, I haven't seen anyone flinch on our team.
02:33 You can go watch the tape, the effort, competitiveness, none of that's changed.
02:38 And it's just a great representation of the resiliency of this team and
02:44 the leadership of this team.
02:46 >> Taysen, did you think initially you were going in on that last third and sixth?
02:51 >> No. >> I think someone said it seemed like you
02:53 were and then you turned around and went back, so I don't know if they made a switch or
02:56 something.
02:56 >> [LAUGH]
02:59 >> Okay, all good guys, thank you.
