DeSean Jackson on his impact in the NFL
Transcript
00:00 back in the day, but I think I really changed the game as far as a guy under
00:04 six feet, less than 180 pounds, majority of my career,
00:10 to really be able to play wide receiver and play punt return.
00:13 And play it at a high level.
00:14 I don't think, like I said before me,
00:17 there's not too many guys that really did it at a high level.
00:19 I mean, you have some punt returners, but to play receiver and
00:23 be a number one wide receiver in the league for that long of a time.
00:27 And to still be able to have the playmaking ability to play punt return or
00:30 to get reverses, to come out the backfield, to play in the slot,
00:35 to do the deep three, I mean, to be an overall wide receiver.
00:39 I don't think there's really too many before me that did it at that level.
00:41 So I think I definitely started to trend.
00:44 I'm blessed to be able to change the game for younger, I mean,
00:47 not for younger guys, but the guys that are undersized, that are not the typical
00:52 6'2", 6'3" wide receivers that are both big, buff, bulky receivers.
00:56 So to say that, I definitely think I opened up a lot of eyes for GMs and
01:02 scouts to be able to say, we're not gonna miss the next guy that might be a smaller
01:06 frame or shorter guy.
