00:00 Hi, I'm Jake and I'm reporting from the Cows Create Careers program. Today I'm here with the milkers from Yanko Agricultural High School.
00:06 Introduce yourself boys. Hi, I'm Archer. Hi, I'm Seth. Hi, I'm Eli.
00:11 Well boys, tell me what you've learned about the dairy industry.
00:14 Robotic dairies give me a sleep in.
00:17 Dairy cows can produce around 25 to 30 litres of milk a day.
00:22 Well boys, I learned that I'm lactose intolerant.
00:28 Here boys, what are some practical things we've learned while working with our calves.
00:32 NILS tags help us track the calves. I learned how to halter my calf.
00:38 I learned that brown cows don't actually give you a chuck of milk.
00:41 Hi boys, how has this program impacted you at Yanko? I've learned heaps of different careers in the dairy industry.
00:48 We get milk and ice cream for dinner.
00:57 Here at Yanko, all of our students love getting involved,
01:00 cleaning the animal shelter and caring for them. However, I think it's time for some new tools.
01:05 Hey boys, I'm no shovel expert, but I think there's meant to be something on the end of this. Yeah mate, you're not wrong there.
01:12 I think it's time for some new tools.
01:14 As you can see, it's pretty bare. That's why at Yanko we would like a shade shelter for the calves.
01:21 So you've heard it here first from the milkers at Yanko.
01:25 This is Jake from the Cowscout Careers Program, signing off.
