00:00 What is up Baltimore Ravens fans, it's IndyCarTim here for your Ravens Daily Blitz.
00:11 It is the, almost at San Diego, Los Angeles Chargers pregame edition.
00:19 As they get prepared out there on that West Coast to take on the Chargers at SoFi Stadium,
00:26 Ravens number one seed in the AFC right now, they hope to maintain that obviously.
00:30 The collapse of the Chiefs against the Eagles on Monday Night Football necessitated that.
00:38 Of course the Ravens taking over the number one seed.
00:42 And you know, I don't know what to think of this Chargers team, I really feel like they're
00:46 an underachieving team.
00:48 They're 4-6, 2-3 at home.
00:52 And I feel like Justin Herbert has all the talent and all the ability that anybody else
00:59 in the league does, more than most probably.
01:03 But they just can't seem to put together wins, right?
01:07 It's just, it's gotta be maddening for poor Chargers fans if indeed those exist still.
01:13 But man, the poor guy's just been inundated with poor coaching, with a lack of a real
01:20 offensive coordinator, with all due respect to Kellen Moore, you're not a good offensive
01:28 coordinator.
01:29 My time in Dallas will tell me that.
01:31 So I don't know what to make of the Chargers, they're playing at home, they're just not
01:35 very good right now.
01:37 But it almost seems like that's the kind of game that could come up and bite the Ravens
01:42 in the butt, especially being on the other coast.
01:46 And the 3,000 mile trip to Los Angeles, you know, teams, I guess not so much anymore,
01:53 but teams used to react very poorly to those cross-country trips.
01:57 But with the modern conveniences everybody has now, I don't think that's as much of an
02:02 issue.
02:03 But it is a Sunday night football game.
02:07 You have a healthy Lamar Jackson.
02:12 You have really a healthy team for the most part.
02:16 And you're running into your, kind of the meat, the tough stretch of the schedule here.
02:21 After the Chargers, you will enjoy the bye week, which is going to be huge for some of
02:26 these guys to get some rest.
02:28 Because after that you've got the Rams at home.
02:31 Shouldn't be a real issue, I wouldn't think, they're not very good.
02:34 But then you run into the Jags, this is all in consecutive weeks, the Jags, the 49ers,
02:39 and the Dolphins, all playoff teams this year.
02:44 And then you, of course, end the season against the Steelers on January 7th.
02:48 That's going to be a tough game.
02:49 But kind of what we're looking for here, kind of what worries me, is this is about the time
02:54 of year, the last two seasons that Jackson has gotten hurt.
02:59 Not to jinx anything, but, you know, last year it was week 12 against the Broncos.
03:06 The year before that it was week 13 against Cleveland.
03:11 And we know that his goal right now is to just, Jackson's is to stay healthy.
03:15 It's really the goal for this entire team.
03:18 And they're just rolling right now.
03:22 Jackson enters week 12 here as ranked fifth in the NFL in completion percentage at 69.5.
03:28 He's ranked number six in pass rating with 100.1.
03:32 And if you combine the running efforts of Jackson and running back Gus Edwards, they've
03:37 got the NFL's top rushing attack, averaging 155.1 yards per contest.
03:43 So Edwards has also added 10 rushing touchdowns, that's second among AFC backs.
03:48 So all things really clicking here.
03:50 You know, the receivers are playing well.
03:52 I feel like Jackson's developed a good chemistry with some of the new guys, especially Zay
03:57 Flowers with OBJ, Nelson Aguilar, you know, which is good because, you know, we've seen
04:05 Rashad Bateman go down this week with an injury.
04:08 I don't know what his status is yet for, we'll know probably in the morning if Bateman's
04:12 going to be able to go.
04:14 He missed a lot of practice this week.
04:16 You know, again, that's almost not a surprise anymore, right?
04:19 We almost expect to see Rashad Bateman on the injury report every week.
04:22 But man, the chargers, like I said, they're not good.
04:26 They're struggling, especially right now.
04:28 They're coming off two consecutive three-point losses to Detroit and Green Bay.
04:33 They've got the NFL's second worst total defense, and they're last in the league against the
04:37 pass.
04:38 So that should provide plenty of opportunities for Lamar Jackson and that receiver core there
04:44 at SoFi Stadium on Sunday.
04:47 It is a Sunday night game, so it's going to be the NBC broadcast at 8.20 p.m. Eastern
04:52 Time.
04:53 If you're looking for the odds, if you're a betting individual, please bet responsibly.
04:58 But your spread right now as we look at it on Saturday evening, the Ravens minus three
05:03 and a half.
05:04 Your total is 48 and a half.
05:07 Your money line, the Ravens are minus 167, the Chargers plus 138.
05:13 So pretty good value there either way you want to go on either one of the teams and
05:17 the spread.
05:18 I'll be honest, I expected it to be a little bit more, but again, there's the travel thing
05:23 you have to take into account in all this.
05:25 So we'll see.
05:26 We'll see.
05:27 I don't know what it opened at, but you know, three and a half is probably just about right
05:30 as they're trying to steer probably some of the bets towards the Chargers is the way that
05:36 works.
05:37 So anyway, it is again Ravens, Chargers, Sunday, Sunday night football.
05:43 And we'll all be watching.
