00:02 I got into riding because my brother used to ride
00:06 and after he had an accident, a group of friends and I,
00:09 we decided to fix his bike and we registered
00:13 and I've been riding ever since.
00:14 So riding for me was a chance to get away from my job.
00:21 It was away from the emails, the calls, the messages,
00:25 and just a time to be by myself and reflect.
00:29 So my friends and I still ride together today
00:31 and I guess it's a chance for us to bond
00:34 and just be out together on the road.
00:36 So my crash really impacted my life.
00:43 Heading through an intersection,
00:44 I misread a driver's intentions and we collided head on.
00:47 So lying on the ground, I felt helpless.
00:53 You're lying there, you're thinking to yourself,
00:56 you know, am I gonna make it?
00:57 Is this the time for me?
00:59 And what of my family, what of my friends?
01:02 During my recovery, I realized that I can't change the past.
01:11 It was more about defensive riding and changing my mindset.
01:14 Safety is paramount.
01:16 Gear is crucial, motorcycle gear is always crucial
01:19 and I always take it one step further by wearing high-vis.
01:23 It made me appreciate the preciousness of time
01:26 with my friends, my family, and even myself.
01:30 For me, at the end of the day,
01:31 I think it's just about coming home safe to my family.
