00:30 Hi, I'm Neil Apshaw. I'm the Race Director for the Glossoport Half.
00:33 My name's Jo and I'm the Secretary for the Glossoport Half.
00:37 My name's Martin Pepper. I'm the Mayor of the Borough of Glossoport.
00:40 And tell us a little bit more about what's happening here today.
00:42 So today we've put on the Glossoport Half Marathon.
00:46 It is the 39th time we've done it.
00:49 It is for about 2,000 runners to run 13.1 miles.
00:54 Yeah.
00:55 We also put on two children's events.
00:57 So we've got one from young children up until 12 and then from 12 up until 16.
01:04 Excellent. And if you can, tell us a little bit more about what this means to the local community,
01:08 particularly getting children involved in sport.
01:11 There are so many positives about this kind of event.
01:14 Number one, if you look around here today, you will see thousands of young people,
01:19 thousands of not quite so young people, some very fit people, some not quite so fit people,
01:24 some supporters, some organisers, and they're all working together to produce a fantastic event.
01:29 It also has the added benefit of advertising Glossoport, seeing all the best things of the borough,
01:36 including the fantastic weather, by the way, which is great.
01:39 Organisers have done really well.
01:41 And if we can encourage more and more people and we keep this as an annual event,
01:47 as we said, it's been going for a few years now,
01:50 and I'm really pleased to be here to support it and to encourage more people to get involved.
