00:00 Saudi Arabia is entering the competitive market for natural gas, and this time through new discoveries for natural gas in the Middle East and the Gulf.
00:15 We notice that this is a step that Saudi Arabia is taking in light of the global competition that we have recently seen in the natural gas market. The Saudi Minister of Energy said that there are new discoveries in two fields of natural gas, starting with the hayron field, and thus the gas will be pumped at a rate of 30 million cubic feet per day.
00:39 And for the field of the mills, the gas is pumped at a rate of about 850,000 cubic feet per day. Therefore, these new discoveries were also made. There were discoveries for gas in five places, and thus in fields discovered in the past.
00:57 Thus, the gas was pumped at a rate of 92 million and 300 thousand cubic feet. This is the trend that Saudi Arabia is seeking today. We have seen it from competition in some neighboring countries, such as Qatar and Kuwait, in the gas market.
01:12 And also on the global level, it comes in light of the strong demand that we have seen recently, especially after the war that we have seen in Ukraine and Russia, and the demand and suspension of Russian gas subsidies that had an impact on gas prices during the past period, and its extension was also clear on energy prices.
01:31 Therefore, we notice that the natural gas lease terms in America are at their lowest levels in the past month. And since the beginning of 2023, these references have reached 34%.
01:45 These references that come today in the gas markets are the result of the first European action to strengthen its protections against the crisis that was with the suspension of Russian gas, in addition to the strategic storage that has become available.
02:01 The Aramco share movements have been rising by almost 16% since the beginning of this year, and the profit margin is 17 times. To return to Saudi Arabia and also to strengthen its production in the gas sector,
02:15 Saudi Arabia is currently focusing on diversifying its revenues away from oil and entering this time to strengthen its production and export to gas. It has made several acquisitions in the past period, especially in this field, and therefore it has become today not only dependent on local production,
02:35 but also through its acquisitions, so that there is also a dependence on sales operations in the foreign gas markets. Aramco aims from these new discoveries to have an increase in its production of gas between 50 and 60% by the year 2030, and thus compared to the levels in 2021.
02:56 The last acquisitions that were made were on a strategic share in the natural gas company Medocean Energy, and its value was about $ 500 million. Therefore, this company is also having acquisitions in Australia, and this will also depend on strengthening production operations and gas abroad.
03:19 However, Saudi Arabia also has a large reserve of energy, whether from oil or even gas, and therefore it is recording a quarter of the rise in gas reserves. One of the last statements we heard from the executive president of Aramco was targeting new investments in natural gas,
03:38 in addition to becoming a major player in the Bahrain-transported gas market. Thus, we also noticed that Saudi Arabia has also increased its gas pipelines, which were recently completed. So this is what Saudi Arabia has been committed to lately to put itself in the forefront of the global gas map.
