00:09 we've seen Liam Davis in the ring in 2023,
00:12 and he's only been in there for two minutes and 46 seconds,
00:15 the time it took him to stop Jesse Cunningham in July.
00:19 He's defending his European and WBC international titles
00:22 tonight against an unbeaten fighter
00:24 from Campania in Italy, Vincenzo La Famiglia,
00:28 whose chin might be his best form of defense, we're told,
00:31 but that's a real opportunity
00:33 if he can pull off a shot tonight.
00:35 Davis, though, Richie, says he intends to end it early.
00:38 - Yeah, he wants to get a quick night tonight, Liam Davis,
00:41 and he's improving with every contest, is Davis.

01:47 just above his nose, as Davis has got to watch out for that,

01:59 So that's inviting the pressure from Davis.

02:04 the Italian, seven of them via stoppage.
02:07 Davis, who's building serious momentum,
02:10 the last two years has seen him win some good fights.
02:13 The win against Gianni Perlucci looks better with time.
02:16 Says he wants to get this over and done with,
02:19 and then he wants to have a break
02:21 and then plough his course next year.
02:23 - Yeah, that was a super shot there from Davis.

02:28 and then whips a long left hook around the guard
02:31 of the Italian, and again, good work from Davis there.

02:40 There's a left hand that goes through the end,
02:42 troubles up the shots to the body and head.

03:13 and try and box his opponents at range early on here.

04:19 Switched the attacks to the body and then switched the head.
04:22 It's a good round for Liam Davis.

04:25 so he's got caught with a couple of shots also,
04:26 but it's a good positive round.

04:41 but Liam Davis has made his intentions quite clear
04:44 the way that he went about his business in the first round.

04:50 didn't actually come off.
04:51 He won the first round clearly,
04:53 but he just got to settle down now
04:54 and use his height and reach a little bit better.

04:58 So he knows what he's doing, Davis.

05:02 And like I've said, he's just got to settle into this one.
05:06 - I think that it's just worth pointing out though
05:08 that the Italian challenger is relatively confident too,
05:12 and he stopped four of the last five men
05:13 that he's been in with.
05:14 So there is a bit of power there
05:16 if he can plant his feet and catch Liam Davis properly.
05:19 But at the moment, he's just having to weather
05:21 another storm here in the second round.
05:23 - Yeah, La Femina's got to watch what he's doing here.
05:25 His hands are far too low when he's in punching range.
05:28 It's all right there when he's just out of punching range
05:31 and Davis is stepping in with that jab,
05:33 but when he gets closer, the hands are still low.
05:36 And with a puncher like Davis, that's dangerous.

05:43 He's known as Winchester, but I'm not sure why.
05:46 Describes himself as a street brat,
05:48 and he said in all honesty,
05:50 he said that he's got to stop Davis to win tonight.
05:52 He's under no illusions by the size of the task.
05:54 He doesn't feel he can come here and outpoint him.
05:57 So at some stage, he's going to have to try
05:59 and land the power shots himself.
06:01 But at the moment, he's just trying to survive

17:29 on to a shot. He's already brought him on to one good left hook. In all fairness to the Italian
17:33 challenger though Rich he's always happy to oblige. Yeah he's tough isn't he? The Italians are. He's a
17:39 tough kid this fella. Still happy to stand right in front of Liam Davis and take whatever comes his way.
17:48 He's moving forward he's trying to draw the lead of Davis but Davis is hitting the target. He's
17:56 accurate with that jab. Lafamil is trying to counter punch him but Davis is accurate with
18:03 that jab which is important. Slightly sharper with his work isn't he Davis as well his punches
18:08 get there a fraction second fraction of a second quicker. Lafamil is halfway through the fifth round.
18:18 Probably the quietest round of the fight so far to this point.
18:35 Lafamil is showing tremendous guts and determination in there. He's had to take a lot of punches in the opening
18:42 four rounds and into the fifth as well. Hurtful accurate shots that have come his way from Liam Davis.
18:49 Lafamil again just edging forward wanting Davis to punch. Davis keeping the punches straight
18:56 controlling the distance and the gap better is Davis. Lafamil just can't seem to close that gap
19:03 to land those mid-range punches. The power shot that he wants as he Davis is controlling it with jabs like that.
19:23 Where this lands the right hand he's wobbling again he's got a hang on again. Hurtful shots and he jumps in to stop it. Fabian Guggenheim dives in to save Vincenzo Lafamil from any further punishments.
19:37 And Liam Davis gets the job done in style. Yes he did indeed and he did pick his moment very well there Davis again accurate shots long range switches the attack gets his man on the ropes and then just kept the pressure going so that was a good finish for Davis.
19:52 I thought it was a fairly hard fight for him but he's come through it really really well finished the guy off with accurate clean hard shots. He'll be pleased with that.
20:01 Yes he will so will Frank Warren because he's got big plans for Liam Davis in 2024. He's an entertainer he wants to fight a certain way and the more we see him the more impressive he looks.
20:15 And he was in there tonight with one intention he wanted a stoppage he was prepared to do it the hard way. Tremendous guts in all fairness shown by Lafamil to stay in there for as long as he did.
20:25 And he's bellowing out to the crowd about his bravery. Frank Warren looking on. He's enjoying himself in there gets a little tap on the glove there from Zack Barker.
20:38 Just looking at his dad in his corner as well Christian Davis he'll be really really pleased with that. Good performance let's have a look at it here.
20:45 So straight shots we spoke about it those one twos then he kept the attack going gets him on the ropes and then he's just a barrage of punches.
20:52 Referee comes in no question no doubt good decision by him but straight shots there's the jab there's the right hand now he follows it up keeps the attack going he's accurate he's hitting the target and the referee stops it. Good finish.

21:13 No he's improving with every contest that he has Liam Davis you know he's only he had that great win against Cunningham showed out how to beat in a Belluta from Romania that was a good win good winning against Mark Leach.
21:26 So yes you know this has been a hard fight for him he's come through it and I think it's been all round it's been a good all-round display from Davis there.
21:35 It's the seventh stoppage for Liam Davis who defends his European and WBC international super bantamweight title tonight.
