02:01 But according to Philippine Ambassador to the US, Babe Romualdez,
02:04 the two leaders on the sidelines of the APEC Summit
02:07 have not yet reached an agreement.
02:08 The reason for the delay is not yet known,
02:11 but they are confident that it will continue.
02:13 President Xi's agreement was mentioned by President Marcos
02:16 during his conversation with US Vice President Kamala Harris.
02:20 He was very interested to know what our assessment was
02:24 on the situation in the West Philippine Sea.
02:27 And I just went through the narrative of what was,
02:32 what had happened in the past few months.
02:35 And we tried to discuss some of the ways forward.
02:38 The two leaders also discussed
02:39 the strengthening of the relationship and alliance of the two countries.
02:42 At the APEC Summit,
02:44 the traditional family photo of the APEC leaders was taken.
02:48 It was led by US President Joe Biden.
02:51 Chinese President Xi Jinping was also there,
02:53 the first time he returned to America after six years.
02:57 The Philippine and American governments
03:00 also signed the so-called "One-Two-Three Agreement."
03:02 This is an agreement that will allow companies in America
03:05 to bring nuclear energy technology to the Philippines.
03:09 We see nuclear energy becoming a part of the Philippine energy mix by 2032.
03:15 And we would be more than happy to pursue this path
03:18 with the United States as one of our partners.
03:21 Energy Secretary Rafael Otilia signed the agreement for the Philippines,
03:25 while US Secretary of State Antony Blinken
03:28 signed the agreement for America.
03:30 President Marcos has set an ambitious goal,
03:33 cutting the Philippines' greenhouse gas emissions by 75% by 2030
03:38 and increasing the production of clean energy
03:40 so that 50% comes from renewable sources by the year 2040.
03:45 It is a testament to two things,
03:47 to the high priority that this issue is for both of our countries
03:50 and to how closely we're collaborating.
03:53 Beyond nuclear power applications to combat climate change,
03:57 the new agreement facilitates bilateral cooperation
04:01 in a wide array of other peaceful uses of atomic energy,
04:06 all supportive of various sustainable development goals,
04:11 including plant breeding, livestock production,
04:15 insect pest control, soil and crop management,
04:19 water use efficiency, plastic waste disposal,
04:22 food safety, health and medicine.
04:25 Vicky, later on, the Leaders' Retreat Session will be held.
04:33 President Marcos will also assist the TikTok officials
04:37 and he will also have a coffee with the media.
04:40 Later, President Marcos will also travel to Los Angeles, California
04:45 for a briefing, a tour of the SpaceX headquarters
