00:00 I'm Paul today. I'm going to take you through a detailed review of Jeep's Uconnect infotainment system
00:04 Plus some of the features you can experience in it along with the display ahead of the driver
00:09 You'll find in a lot of Jeep's vehicles now
00:12 If you haven't done so already make sure you have a look at the rest of our channel where we have a stack of car
00:15 Reviews some drag races and other interesting content as well. Anyway, let's get started
00:20 So it's an 8.4 inch screen starting off here. We have shortcut buttons all down the bottom terms of radio
00:28 You have AM/FM and DAB plus digital radio. So that's fully featured if we jump over to media
00:33 This is where you're able to stream through your phone through Bluetooth connection or through auxiliary or USB connections attached to the car
00:40 If we jump over to the climate menu just for completeness
00:43 You can operate your seat heating functions here
00:46 And then when you do switch the climate on all of the controls come here and the ability to sync
00:51 Move temperatures up and down and also select different zones as well terms of apps
00:55 You have all of your smartphone connectivity access through this screen
00:59 So this is what Apple CarPlay looks like really impressive setup
01:02 It is very high resolution and while it isn't full screen
01:05 It takes up pretty much all of the screen that it needs to and that integration looks really good
01:10 I'll show you what Android Auto looks like another integration similar in size to Apple CarPlay
01:15 Also super high resolution if we go into the maps there that all seems to work really nicely as well
01:21 So it's good that you have the flexibility of both Android and Apple devices there and in terms of other apps
01:25 In the apps menu there really isn't much else there
01:28 This is just a shortcut to access other parts of the car
01:31 But jump over to controls this simply takes us back to the menu item related to climate
01:36 Which is our heated seats now what I love here
01:39 It has inbuilt satellite navigation if we go to the map here
01:41 You can see that it is quite a fast and responsive map, but my favorite feature is I can configure
01:47 What the icon looks like so I can go through here and select different things such as other Jeep products
01:54 Go for a Wrangler, and if we go back to the map menu. There's our little Wrangler there
01:58 Let's see how quick it is we'll try and enter a new destination. We'll put in and go to which is Melbourne Airport
02:03 It's super fast for typing you know like that
02:07 airports
02:10 search
02:12 Yeah look that's not too bad it had a little bit of lag there
02:15 But once it comes up it gives us all of the options that we need so that is all good all of this is also
02:20 Backed up by a voice recognition system so one push of this on the steering wheel brings up the native voice recognition
02:25 And then if you do have a smartphone paired using a wired Apple CarPlay or Android Auto
02:30 Interface it will then send the voice commands through that which is generally more accurate because they're using the cloud
02:35 Moving on from that screen ahead of the driver is another color LCD display you control that using the steering wheel controls
02:42 And you can see here
02:43 There are a number of menus to go through including setup for the car and also display
02:47 And then you can also switch randomly the speedometer from kilometers an hour to miles per hour
02:52 Kind of redundant for us
02:53 And then you have a whole stack of trip computer information along with vehicle information too
02:58 And then on top of that if you do change drive modes you'll see the screen ahead of the driver change as well as you flick
03:04 Through them. Thank you for watching and if you did enjoy this video make sure you hit the like button follow it up with the subscribe
03:09 And the bell icon as well make sure you have a look at the rest of the videos on our channel
03:13 But until next time take it easy
