00:00 Spilsby, something amazing is coming.
00:03 2024 will see some exciting developments at the recreation ground, developments that
00:08 will provide the community with sport and well-being facilities, way into the future.
00:14 We've been working with our partners in a number of areas to invest in what we believe
00:17 to be the future of sport in Spilsby.
00:20 In 2019, we embarked on community engagement to speak with those who will benefit from
00:25 the improvements.
00:27 As a result, we plan to invest in three phases of development.
00:32 Phase 1 will benefit football, hockey, tennis and netball, with the build of a state-of-the-art
00:37 2G multi-use playzone.
00:39 The playzone will replace the derelict hardcourt that is currently in place and replace it
00:44 with a secure, bookable, sand-based surface for all ages and all sports.
00:49 The playzone is backed and partly funded by the FA and the Football Foundation.
00:55 Phase 2 will see the creation of a multi-use, concrete skatepark, location adjacent to the
01:00 playzone.
01:02 The skatepark will be for all abilities and all ages, and as it's concrete, it will be
01:06 available for use all year round.
01:09 The whole area will be landscaped and include seating to allow parents to relax with a coffee.
01:15 Finally, Phase 3 will include some exciting developments at the pavilion.
01:20 As the success of Spilsby Town Football Club continues, we'll look to bring the changing
01:25 facilities up to date, with FA standard toilets and showers, bring safeguarding to the forefront.
01:31 We'll create outside spectator toilets, a new wellbeing hall that will allow more social
01:36 groups to hire the venue, a new clubhouse and cafe that will be used by footballers
01:40 and spectators alike, creating employment and opportunities and new meeting facilities
01:45 for community training, to pinpoint back-to-work training and financial advice for the community.
01:51 A new CCTV will be installed and a new site manager's office will provide security and
01:56 confidence for the community.
01:59 We've worked hard as a team, for a better future for Spilsby.
02:03 We've already seen massive support from our local MP, to the PCC, from ELDC to the Town
02:08 Council, not forgetting the FA and the LTA, but now we need you.
02:14 We need to secure the services in a post-COVID and increased cost of living environment,
02:19 supporting both the community and improving our green credentials within the building
02:22 to reduce our expenditure.
02:25 We want to support the community with post-COVID-19 health issues.
02:30 In total, our development will cost in the region of £650,000, this amount also includes
02:36 the expansion of the car park to accommodate the extra football of the facility, something
02:40 which is much needed.
02:42 £650,000 is a lot of money, but we're lucky that our hard work has secured over 50% of
02:48 this amount already.
02:49 However, we need more.
02:50 We are actively submitting applications, but while we do, we need to raise £40,000 on
02:57 our own.
02:59 So please donate to our crowdfunder now, be it money, by purchasing a sponsorship slot,
03:04 or by purchasing a reward on our page.
03:06 Together, we can start the build and invest some much longed for investment in Spilsby.
03:12 Thank you.
03:14 And please remember to select Gift Aid so we raise even more.
