00:00 Another boring day at work. Oh wait, what's this? An invite to a party?
00:08 Surgeon Can-Am. We invite you to celebrate the unveiling of custom Riker
00:13 bikes designed and crafted by the Surgeon team. Downtown Los Angeles. Wow!
00:19 Folks, we just got an invite to head to downtown Los Angeles to check out the
00:27 Surgeon's shop and some cool new Rikers from Can-Am. If you're not familiar with
00:34 the Surgeon, he's a custom shoe fabricator. He customizes shoes like
00:40 Nike Air Force Ones and all that kind of stuff. How cool is that? Who's ready to
00:44 party? Alright folks, here we are in Los Angeles here at the official VRP Can-Am
00:53 party where they're showing off that Riker. Now if you didn't know about Can-Am
01:00 or VRP, this is a French Canadian organization that makes performance
01:07 vehicles like this Riker Rally three-wheeler. Two wheels in the front, one
01:12 in the back. They also make vehicles like this Can-Am Maverick X3 Turbo 4C
01:21 side-by-side. So we're here today at the Surgeon lab. The Surgeon guy is a guy who
01:28 makes trendy footwear. So if you notice everyone's footwear here, they all got
01:33 trendy kicks because that is what this place is all about. It's all about style
01:39 and fashion. This is the stuff that this guy makes. He makes these custom super
01:45 trick Gucci kicks. Look at all those shoes. That's his deal right here. Air
01:52 Force Ones, Jordans, all this kind of stuff. He also makes gear. Now Can-Am VRP
01:59 actually commissioned a special prototype piece of footwear that we're
02:05 gonna see tonight. Look at that. That jacket's sick. Look at these shoes. Wow.
02:15 I'm not a super shoe guy by any means. I got my TCX motorcycle boots but with how
02:21 cool these things look I could definitely be a shoe guy. What do you
02:27 think ladies about those shoes? I think they're so cute they should be on my
02:32 feet. Or in typical LA style, these people are getting some tattoos because that's
02:39 what LA people do. They ink their whole body. Here's some more artwork from the
02:46 surgeon. Look at all this stuff. Dunks. The Cubist. I am the Cubist made that.
02:54 Look at all this stuff here. This is where people make their custom shoes. As
03:01 you can see they can pick out their different styles and their different
03:05 whatever they want here. Here is the venue where they're going to introduce
03:11 the stuff. So the surgeon also collaborated and helped design these
03:18 Riker three-wheelers by Can-Am. So the Riker three-wheeler actually has a
03:26 corresponding shoe. So there's three shoes. This one, this one, and this one. And
03:33 each shoe is paired to a specific Riker colorway. Kind of neat. Look at the
03:39 intricate design of these things. Pretty wild. Folks here we go. They're about to show off the
03:47 surgeon footwear. If you look on that screen right there, the surgeon actually borrowed
03:54 the Can-Am font. That's kind of neat. So if you see it says Can-Am right now.
03:58 Backdrop of Los Angeles. There, surgeon in BRP font. Kind of neat. So this is the
04:05 gymnasium here at the surgeons center. So you can play basketball. There's the
04:12 audio board where you control the controls of this thing I would assume. And then
04:17 we're about to see like what's going on here. So here's all the people hanging
04:22 out. So Can-Am is trying to attract a younger audience and demographic with
04:29 its Riker. So now they're going to show off some footwear here. Alright folks, the
04:36 BRP PR person is speaking right now. And to her right is the surgeon. That is the
04:45 world-famous footwear custom design manufacturer dude. So right now she's
04:53 speaking about the collaboration between this and being inclusive. We at
04:59 Motorcyclist Magazine have inclusivity in our ethos. So that's the way it is.
05:05 Alright now we're going to get to see surgeon inspired Riker.
05:12 We're here today to show you three of the Can-Am Rikers that we fully customized,
05:19 designed, customized and did in the studio by hand. The first one is inclusivity.
05:30 So this is these three bikes were fun for us and we wanted to put the surgeon
05:49 touch on on this all different but maintain the integrity of the brand. And
05:54 this one that you've seen many of our shoes we like to use different leathers.
06:00 A lot of companies once they use the material and there's so much waste
06:06 leftover and they usually throw that waste out. So for us we wanted to do
06:10 something that was eco-friendly but also fun and cool. So you see the wheels are
06:18 powder-coated pink, white and one of my favorite colors olive green and then all
06:24 of the different hits and this is I mean this is one of my favorites. If you look
06:29 closely when you're done you go completely around you see all the
06:32 details the silver plaque, the leather, the different materials from the lamb
06:37 leather, goat leather and the pack you go with it and then the shoes as well.
06:42 Alright folks there it is the BRP Can-Am Riker Rally. Look at that bad Billy
06:50 Goat. Now the surgeon you know realistically what that guy is is he's a
06:56 modern cobbler. So he's a shoe cobbler but modern 21st century style. So he's
07:03 using all kinds of different materials on the seat and on that rear tank case
07:11 type thing. More unique materials very very neat. Look at that Stingray. That
07:20 thing's got Stingray on it. Look at it. Is that snake skin or Stingray? I can never
07:25 tell you know when I have my shoes at home I can never tell which one's which.
07:29 Very very neat. There's the surgeon brand right there.
07:39 That is sick. If I had to pick one I would probably pick this one. This one
07:45 looks absolutely boss. There's our photographer Mike Emery. He's got a kid
07:52 number three on the way so he's paying the bills doing photography today. So
07:57 congratulations to him and his wife. You've probably seen his photos. He
08:03 travels the AMA Supercross and Motocross series. So if you want to see his photos
08:08 and you follow dirt bikes racing you probably have already. Look at this thing.
08:15 Alright folks we have this young lady here. What is your favorite of the three Can-Am
08:19 Riker rallies? I'm gonna have to go with this the black and gold one. I feel like
08:25 we were just talking about it. I love black and gold. Those are probably my two
08:28 favorite colors. I love the leather. I just love the entire look and also the
08:32 shoes to match. It's just so sick. Do you think you could ride one of those things?
08:36 Absolutely yes. That I think would match.
08:43 There is another look at the three Can-Am BRP Rikers. Can you buy these
08:51 custom Rikers? No you can't. You can buy a production one. You're also not going to be able to buy the
08:56 custom footwear. But I'm sure Can-Am spends considerable time and effort
09:04 making that custom footwear. Pretty cool.
09:08 Well folks that was a hoot to go up to Los Angeles and hang out with Can-Am and
09:13 see its new Riker and shoe surgeon collaboration. As always make sure to
09:18 surf on over to MotorcyclistOnline.com. That's where all of our written
09:22 content lives. Give this video a thumbs up if you liked it, thumbs it down if you
09:26 didn't, and we'll see you in the next episode. Thanks for parting with us!
