00:00 DAP has rejected the assertion made by former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad that they

00:07 were using each other to defeat Najib Raza, the then Barisan National Chairman, in the

00:12 14th General Election.

00:14 DAP Secretary-General Lok Siu Fook emphasised that the party was committed to collaborating

00:20 with Mahathir during that period.

00:24 Lok said DAP's intentions were sincere, driven by the hope that Mahathir had undergone a

00:30 genuine change.

00:32 He said the objective was not only to topple Najib Raza's administration but also to initiate

00:38 reforms.

00:39 Mahathir had, during an episode of a podcast hosted by former UMNO leaders Kairi Jamaluddin

00:46 and Sharyl Hamdan, claimed that both he and DAP were merely using each other in their

00:52 shared goal of toppling Najib in the 2018 General Election.

00:57 Lok however gave Mahathir due credit for his honesty regarding the matter, saying the former
