00:34 Well, it's been a huge privilege to serve as Foreign Secretary,
00:36 and in that time I've worked very closely
00:38 with my colleagues in the Home Office,
00:40 cracking down on illegal migration,
00:42 reducing the number of small boat arrivals,
00:44 and now as the Home Secretary,
00:46 I'm absolutely committed
00:48 to stopping the boats,
00:50 as we promised,
00:52 but also making sure
00:54 that everybody in the UK
00:56 feels safe and secure
00:58 going around,
01:00 going about their daily business
01:02 knowing that the government
01:04 is here to protect them.
01:06 So it's a fantastic job
01:08 and it's a real privilege to serve. Thank you very much.
01:10 And do you want to distance yourself from the rhetoric
01:12 of the previous Home Secretary?
01:14 Well, I intend to do this job
01:16 in the way that I feel
01:18 best protects
01:20 the British people and our interests.
01:22 I have
01:24 had a very good conversation
01:26 with the Prime Minister, who's made it very clear
01:28 that he wants us to
01:30 deliver on our promises
01:32 to stop the boats, to protect
01:34 the British people, make sure everybody
01:36 feels secure in their lives. Thank you very much.
