00:00 The Texas Longhorns will be without their top running back, Jonathan Brooks, for the
00:04 remainder of the season as a result of the injury he suffered in the team's win over
00:09 TCU on Saturday night.
00:11 According to an announcement from the school, Brooks suffered a torn ACL.
00:16 The injury occurred in the second half of the Longhorns' 29-26 win over TCU as Brooks
00:22 attempted to help close out the game.
00:24 Coach Steve Sargesian commented saying, "We are heartbroken for Jonathan.
00:28 He was having a fantastic season and leaves a void that will need to be filled.
00:32 But we know he will continue to be an invaluable leader on our team, helping us prepare as
00:37 we move forward in our mission this season."
00:40 Brooks put his Longhorns running game on his back for the majority of Saturday's game,
00:45 just before going down in pain after being tackled at his ankles and having his foot
00:50 twisted under the defender.
00:52 Brooks was laying down on the ground for a few moments before walking with a heavy limp
00:57 back to the locker room.
00:59 Before this injury, Brooks had 21 carries for 104 yards and two touchdowns, along with
01:05 three catches for 74 yards, and was adding to his Dope Walker Award campaign.
01:11 Texas will now likely lean on true freshman CJ Baxter in the backfield, who has started
01:16 only the first two games of the season.
01:19 From Longhorns Country, I'm Alexandra Cox.
