00:00 Do you or does someone you know receive benefits? Well those who do are in for an extra boost
00:05 this Christmas. The Department for Work and Pensions is planning a Christmas bonus which
00:09 will be the final additional payment for claimants of 2023. The one-off bonus will be £10 and
00:15 it will be sent to each person as one payment regardless of how many benefit payments they
00:19 are eligible for. If two people within the same household are eligible for a bonus payment
00:24 they will get £10 each. The payment is tax free and does not impact any other payments
00:29 across the month of December. All eligible people within the UK should get their Christmas
00:35 bonus payment automatically without needing to claim but if you believe your payment is
00:39 missing, you can contact either the Pension Service or the Jobcentre Plus office. In order
00:44 to be eligible, recipients must get at least one of the qualifying types of benefit payment
00:49 within the qualifying week. This is usually the first full week of December, meaning this
00:54 year it's the week beginning Monday 4th December. It's also usually sent across the same week.
