A 26-year-old man has been charged with drug trafficking, in one of the largest seizures of meth-ampetamine and cocaine in Tasmania's history.

00:00 On Friday, a 26-year-old man from Queensland was intercepted coming off the Spirit of Tasmania
00:07 in Devonport.
00:08 His vehicle was scanned by a police drug detection dog.
00:11 Police allege during the search, 4 kilograms of methamphetamine and 2 kilograms of cocaine
00:16 were found in the boot of his car.
00:19 What this equates to is in excess of 42,000 street deals of methamphetamine and over 2,300
00:27 street deals of cocaine.
00:28 He will face court later today.
00:31 This would have caused immeasurable harm to the Tasmanian community and we will continue
00:35 to make sure that we work collectively to make sure that drugs aren't on the streets.
00:40 There's no safe dosage for methamphetamine or cocaine.
00:44 Tasmania Police says the investigation into this matter is still ongoing and hasn't ruled
00:49 out making further arrests.
00:51 They say this should serve as a warning that anyone attempting to traffic drugs into Tasmania
