A 44-year-old man has been found guilty of the murder of a two-year-old girl in Chinchilla on Queensland’s western downs more than seven years ago. The child's mother who was also on trial was acquitted of murder.

00:25During the trial, prosecutors said the little girl had been destined to die in a death sentence

00:30They said she'd been subjected to shocking abuse, including being forced to sleep naked
00:35on the toilet floor.
00:36Co-accused Cadence's mother, Sunita Tamee Dewita, was acquitted of the murder and torture
00:41charges.
00:42Justice Sean Cooper found,
00:44I'm not satisfied that the prosecution has proved beyond reasonable doubt Ms Dewita intended
00:49to aid Mr Dasachi in his intentional infliction of severe pain or suffering on Cadence.
00:55The 32-year-old was sentenced to 18 months jail after pleading guilty to two counts of
01:00interfering with a corpse and had been due to be released today.
01:04Dewita will be released from custody on Monday after Justice Cooper agreed to delay her release
01:10to allow her time to find a place to live.
01:13Dasachi will be sentenced in the Supreme Court in Toowoomba on Thursday.
