00:00 >> I mean, I don't know if you wanna look at our film, our practice film, but
00:05 yeah, for the most part, yeah, I mean, obviously, guys can get open like Big.
00:09 We thought Big was gonna be our secret weapon, but
00:11 our secret weapon isn't a secret anymore.
00:13 We thought he was gonna be open.
00:15 I thought Foster was gonna get open.
00:17 We had guys open, but I just tried to find my way to get open.
00:21 And Tayson's vision, I lucky threw the ball, caught it, and got a touchdown.
00:26 >> Is it kind of wild to see multiple defectors going to the defensive tackle?
00:29 >> Man, I definitely think it's so hard to prepare for this, man,
00:34 especially if you got a guy like Tayson at quarterback, and
00:38 then you got Derrick at quarterback, and then you got Big coming out there late with 99.
00:43 You think it's gonna be a run.
00:44 It's not actually a run, he's going in the flat, and then everybody's on him.
00:47 It's just kind of weird, but I just kind of get lost in,
00:51 I guess you would say lost in the sauce, try to get lost in the sauce, and
00:54 Tayson found me.
00:55 >> I'm sorry, if you could ask about this already,
00:58 Tayson still has the kind of game that he did in the list of instrumental.
01:01 He did pass, first base, he didn't get a pass.
01:04 What's it like watching the way he contributes?
01:07 >> I mean, I don't know what more I can say that you wouldn't have been already
01:11 know, I mean, Tayson's great.
01:12 Like I said, he runs, he's like Boobie Miles.
01:15 Y'all watch Boobie Miles, he can run, catch, pass, kick,
01:18 whatever he needs to do, that's what he's done for us.
01:21 And he's been nothing but selfless, not only this year, but
01:24 pretty much his whole career has been a testament to him, man.
01:27 He's always been having a positive attitude about it.
01:29 Being in the QB room, being in the tight end room,
01:32 not going with the receivers but the running backs, doesn't matter what it is.
01:35 He's just always selfless in what he does, so I'm proud of him.
01:38 >> What was it like being in the first baseman?
01:41 >> Yeah, it felt great, it definitely felt great.
01:46 I think it was only a matter of time, but as I always say to anybody,
01:51 it's not really about me.
01:53 It would feel worse if I scored and we lost.
01:55 It definitely feels good when we win, we have the music playing,
01:59 we got interviews, we're talking about something positive, something good.
02:01 We're talking about the touchdown after a win, right after a loss.
02:04 So it feels good to score, but it feels even better to win.
02:08 >> What specific teams?
02:10 >> Do you feel like the offense may have left a few points out there,
02:13 considering you guys were plus five in the turnover?
02:15 >> Yes, definitely, definitely.
02:17 And that's stuff we need to work on.
02:19 And I just say that's something that we've been getting better at the weeks
02:23 past.
02:24 The weeks past, I feel like we just haven't punched it in.
02:26 But we know we've been moving the ball at will as of late.
02:30 And so we're just gonna keep going on that, keep building on that.
02:33 We got a great game plan, we got great players.
02:35 It's finally coming along, and we're just gonna keep going with it.
02:38 >> What's it like being on the other side of the defensive force in five
02:41 turnovers, three in the fourth quarter?
02:43 >> Yeah. >> I mean,
02:44 I don't think you all ran a single play from- >> Definitely.
02:46 >> Your side of the pitch.
02:47 >> Definitely, yeah.
02:48 I mean, defense played great.
02:50 Defense played nice out.
02:51 They've been doing that for a while now, ever since I've been here.
02:55 Even when they're getting on the road, moving the ball on the defense,
02:58 I just knew it was only a matter of time for the defense to come around.
03:01 I mean, that's just our defense, just how it is.
03:02 You got guys like Demario to pick these guys up, Camp, Tyron.
03:06 You got so many guys to pick these guys up, so I wasn't too worried about it.
03:09 It was only a matter of time for me to keep going.
03:11 So that's something that we've talked about, something that we've harped on.
03:14 It's gonna be this week, next week, and how we should come.
03:17 We just gotta start faster, offensively and defensively, and just really strong.
03:20 So we're just gonna keep going on that and see how the weeks go coming up.
03:25 >> I know you all got a long way to go in this season, but for
03:28 you all to start the kind of way you did, it was kind of frustrating early on in
03:30 the season for the team.
03:32 Right now, nine weeks in, you're first place in the NLS.
03:34 >> Yeah, and it's always a process.
03:38 That's the one thing that I've always told myself and
03:42 try to talk to when I run, was just to all the young guys.
03:45 You can't get bored of the process.
03:47 I mean, that's just something about the league, it's just that such a long season.
03:50 It's all November, and I think we got, if God can help me, eight more games,
03:54 seven more games, eight more games.
03:57 And in retrospect, that's the season of high school.
04:01 You gotta think about it, that's still a lot of time.
04:03 So for a lot of guys, I just didn't wanna hit the panic button.
04:07 We were losing, we weren't connecting, things like that.
04:10 I just knew we had time on our hands.
04:11 I just knew it was urgent, but we still had time.
04:13 So I'm just glad we're on the roll and keep going.
04:17 And I'm excited for what's going on, because we got the ball rolling at two
04:20 straight, so when we get on three and go to the bye, we feel good.
04:23 >> What are you guys looking to accomplish over the next eight weeks to be the offense?
04:26 >> Yeah, well, just like we talked about before,
04:29 when the defense creates turnovers, we gotta put points on the board.
04:31 That's as simple as that.
04:33 I know Derrick is gonna be the forefront of that, and
04:35 knowing and telling us that we gotta put points on the board,
04:37 because that's essential.
04:39 The score could have been a lot worse if we just had executed what we had executed.
04:44 So the defense is balling out, but when we get turnovers, we gotta put points on the board.
