00:00 What is up Baltimore Ravens fans?
00:06 Lee Cartem here with your Baltimore Ravens, Seattle Seahawks postgame quick hits.
00:14 The game just ended about five minutes ago and I had to collect my thoughts here for
00:19 a second.
00:20 But I don't know that there could have been, well there could have been a more impressive
00:23 win.
00:24 There were issues with the game today, but hey, let's give credit where credit is due.
00:28 Lamar Jackson and the Ravens make another statement against an NFC team.
00:32 They're now 18-1 against NFC teams with Lamar Jackson under center since he came into the
00:37 league and I mean that's impressive.
00:41 I don't know what you chalk that up to, right?
00:43 That's just got to be some kind of fluke or something.
00:46 The way this team is built to not just beat but dominate some NFC teams.
00:54 You know, the way they handled the Lions, the way now they've handled Seattle, by the
00:58 way two NFC playoff bound maybe teams, right?
01:02 Seattle with the loss today will relinquish their lead in the NFC West to the 49ers.
01:08 But as of the game, they were the division leader.
01:10 So you know, potentially a playoff team here about the midway point through the season.
01:14 The Lions of course leading their division still.
01:17 So I mean pretty impressive stuff.
01:19 You got the win over Arizona.
01:21 Definitely not a playoff team but it was an impressive win nonetheless.
01:25 Lamar Jackson had another Lamar Jackson day.
01:29 21-26, 187 yards.
01:32 No touchdowns but no interceptions with an average of 7.2 yards per pass.
01:39 Pretty impressive there.
01:40 Now the issue I said at the beginning here, we do have some issues.
01:43 Man, these Lamar Jackson fumbles are beginning to turn my beard even more gray than it is.
01:50 It's almost to the point that it's going to start costing the team games if he can't get
01:56 this under control.
01:58 Two fumbles today, one lost for Lamar.
02:01 OBJ, by the way, congratulations OBJ for scoring your first touchdown with the Ravens.
02:07 Congratulations to Keaton Mitchell on a humongous day in scoring your first NFL career touchdown.
02:12 We'll get into him here in just a second.
02:14 But the OBJ fumble, you saw it coming the way he was holding the ball as he was being
02:19 tackled to the ground.
02:20 That was no shock.
02:22 And Lamar Jackson, I think just sometimes for everything he does so good, everything
02:26 he does so well, sometimes I just think he loses track of where he is in the pocket and
02:33 the people around him and maybe doesn't have the spatial awareness of what's going on around
02:36 him.
02:37 Which sounds weird to say about Lamar Jackson but I don't know how else to attribute his
02:42 proficiency for fumbling the ball when he gets touched in the pocket.
02:47 It's maddening to me sometimes.
02:49 It is an issue that needs to be addressed because that can start to cost you games here
02:54 later in the season and especially, you know, hopefully in the playoffs it won't be an issue
03:00 but let's hope the Ravens.
03:02 Now it's 7-2 and 3-1 at home are playoff bound this season for sure, still leading the division
03:09 after today.
03:10 Keaton Mitchell though, 9 carries, 138 yards in the long touchdown.
03:17 Then he had another long run and you know, congratulations to him for everything he accomplished
03:23 today.
03:24 Gus Edwards, 5 carries, 52 yards.
03:27 By the way, Keaton Mitchell had an average of 15.3 yards a carry.
03:30 Gus Edwards, 10.4 yards per carry.
03:33 Justus Hill did a lot of the dirty work inside, 13 carries, 40 yards.
03:37 And of course, Huntley scrambled four times for 8 yards.
03:40 Jackson 10 carries for 60 yards before he exited the game for rest, rightfully so.
03:45 Come out of there, give Huntley a little bit of practice under center there in real game
03:51 action.
03:53 The Ravens amassed 298 yards on the ground today against the Seahawks, against a Seahawks
04:00 team that's been pretty good against the run lately.
04:02 So kudos to the Ravens and Todd Munkin and everything they accomplished today against
04:10 a really good defense.
04:11 I said in the pregame yesterday that I was a little concerned about the running game.
04:16 Boy do I sound stupid.
04:17 It wouldn't be the first time, to be honest with you.
04:20 Three touchdowns on the ground.
04:21 Of course, Edwards scoring twice, Mitchell with his long run.
04:24 As far as the receivers go, Mark Andrews led the way with 9 catches, 80 yards.
04:31 OBJ, 5 catches, 56 yards and the touchdown.
04:37 Isaiah Likely was a big target of Tyler Huntley's late in the game and that's great.
04:41 4 catches for 42 yards.
04:42 Bateman, 3 catches, 28 yards.
04:45 Zay Flowers was pretty much held in check today.
04:49 He just had 1 catch for 11 yards and that was his only target.
04:55 So I didn't really get a chance to analyze the game as I was watching it, as I was covering
04:59 it for Sports Illustrated and RavenCountry.com.
05:02 But I didn't get to focus on what was going on with Zay Flowers, but you heard his name
05:07 one time and he was only targeted that one time.
05:10 So you know, but you know what, everybody else was picking up and you got to be happy
05:15 with the offense as far as the defense goes, good God.
05:20 Four sacks on the day of Geno Smith.
05:23 Your tackles leader, Patrick Queen, had 6 total tackles, 1 for a loss.
05:28 Five of those 6 were solo tackles.
05:30 You'll love to see that, a couple behind the line there, of course.
05:33 But you know, overall a great day, I think, for the Ravens and for Ravens' flock.
05:38 Now you get ready for a division rivalry against the Cleveland Browns at noon Central, 1pm
05:48 Eastern next week.
05:51 And you know, I don't know what to think of the Brownies because as much as you hate them,
05:58 sometimes they play really well, sometimes they don't.
05:59 You just never know what you're going to get from the Browns and from Deshaun Watson or
06:03 if he's even going to play, could get a hangnail or something during the week and he's got
06:08 to sit out.
06:10 But you always got to respect that defense and Miles Garrett and some of the other boys
06:13 on that defense over there.
06:16 So we'll get into the Cleveland Browns matchup with the Ravens early in the week and do some
06:21 more shows on that.
06:22 But congratulations to the Ravens.
06:25 Suck it Seattle Seahawks.
06:27 Suck it the rest of the AFC North.
06:29 Because the Ravens are on a mission this season and they have shown that over the last couple
06:34 of weeks.
06:35 So you guys enjoy the win.
06:38 Sit back, relax, enjoy some late games.
06:41 Cowboys and Eagles.
06:43 The game of the week for Fox coming up.
06:45 That's what I'm headed over to to cover for Sports Illustrated and CowboysSI.com.
06:53 I'll be focused on that the rest of the afternoon.
06:55 But you guys enjoy the late games.
06:56 Enjoy your game tonight.
06:57 Enjoy Monday Night Football tomorrow.
07:00 And we'll see you early in the week.
07:01 Until then boys and girls, take care.
