00:00 First they rise, then they merchandise.
00:03 Here's your spooky spot on the Super 7 Return of the Living Dead reaction zombie figures.

00:11 [music]
00:41 This isn't just a reaction figure, it's a way of life.
00:44 The 3.75 inch scale articulate Return of the Living Dead reaction figure of zombie suicide
00:49 and zombie trash is inspired by the movie posted for the 1985 cult classic film and
00:54 features the undead would-be brain eater with removable intestines accessory and missing
00:59 arm.
01:00 Whether you're a collector of all things zombie or a fan of the cult classic film,
01:03 a Return of the Living Dead reaction figure of zombie suicide and trash will give your
01:07 collection an unkillable dose of punk rock attitude.
01:11 I better hurry and start looking at these dead before they start to decay.
01:14 Before we get a closer look at the 1985 poster reaction zombies from Return of the Living
01:19 Dead, if I can I'd like to send a big ghoulish thank you to the folks over at Super 7 that
01:23 did provide the sample we could have a look at.
01:25 Both trash and suicide are available as of right now whether you are lucky enough to
01:29 find the reaction figures in the wild or if instead you want to check it online, they
01:34 are available there as well.
01:35 I'm going to grab the tape measure and see how tall the figures stand and just for the
01:38 sake that they are standing about the same size, I'm only really going to measure suicide.
01:43 Suicide and trash actually are about three and a quarter inches in height or the figures
01:47 are going to be about nine centimeters tall.
01:51 And during this all spooky season we did in fact look at a couple of other reaction figures
01:55 that being the Treehouse of Horror Simpsons figures.
01:58 So here's what suicide and trash look like with Grim Reaper Homer.
02:01 Here's what they look like as well with Kang as Bob Dole.
02:03 Bob Dole.
02:04 And here's also what they look like with skinned upside down inside out Bart.
02:08 I did also want to mention with Bart that in his review I actually left the cane still
02:12 in the packaging.
02:13 Many astute viewers may have already noticed that the cane has been retrieved and is going
02:18 back to its rightful owner.
02:19 Now the Simpsons figures aren't likely ones you're going to be displaying along with the
02:22 zombies unless you're into really collecting the reaction figures as a whole.
02:26 Super 7 is turning out some really amazing releases here.
02:29 Now unlike the Treehouse of Horror Simpsons reaction figures where I so willy nilly ripped
02:33 open the packaging, my plan really the whole time was to have them loose and on display.
02:37 I was though more carefully to cut the packaging here on the zombies.
02:41 Although unfortunately trash I did a little bit rougher of a job cutting the bottom of
02:44 it.
02:45 My plan with really both of these is to eventually be putting them back into a plastic prison
02:49 simply just because the packaging looks too good.
02:51 And again referencing to the 1985 poster for Return of the Living Dead.
02:55 Not ones I would really like to be throwing away in the recycling.
02:58 Packaging wise, while maybe not necessarily looking like Linnea Quigley, you can see that
03:02 there's trash featured on the front and then already we've already looked at there's suicide
03:06 as well.
03:07 But on the back of the packaging too it does feature the two characters of zombies.
03:10 Neither one as far as I know do actually glow in the dark.
03:12 I've actually tried to glow these in the dark and they're just basically the green plastic.
03:16 But really some nice cool detailing on the back.
03:17 All the more reason why I would definitely like to hold on to these and not throw them
03:22 away.
03:23 Now the figures do come included with accessories.
03:25 For one reason or another I actually left the one accessory off to the side.
03:29 Suicide comes included with his little organs hanging out.
03:31 Oh isn't that adorable.
03:33 Sculpted all well here in a gory red plastic.
03:36 They've sculpted actually surprisingly the back of it just as much as they sculpted the
03:39 front.
03:40 And you can then take this and fit this inside the cavity of suicide.
03:44 It's a little harder honestly because you have to kind of get it around the jacket.
03:48 I find it helps just kind of tuck it on one side.
03:50 And then when you feel like you got it all the way in there you can kind of then push
03:54 the guts in the other way.
03:56 You can kind of as well slide them up from the bottom.
03:58 But it never really seems like the organs sit properly in place.
04:02 Again you kind of have to move them around until you find that sweet delicious spot.
04:06 And that's what the organs look like inside the cavity of suicide.
04:10 Both the figures I did say actually say they had accessories.
04:12 I mean really suicide is the only one that comes included with accessories.
04:16 Actually you couldn't even say that trash comes with too many accessories.
04:18 I'm actually still wearing her clothing.
04:21 Anyways the figures themselves again are about the same size.
04:23 They're going to all still retain the same articulation points.
04:26 Only in the head, only in the shoulders, and only in the legs.
04:29 The detail for these are really fantastic.
04:31 I always was wondering if we were going to get a reaction line of zombies from Return
04:35 to the Living Dead.
04:36 And it was a surprise to see that Super 7 decided not only just to release the zombies
04:40 but also once more again to the 1985 poster.
04:44 They don't really so much look like this in the actual movie.
04:46 But the fact that we actually have little representations look really fantastic.
04:50 Closely looking first at suicide, one thing I really like is the way they've sculpted
04:53 the bottom of the jaw there.
04:55 It does almost in a way look like he's got himself a beard, a nose cavity, one only eye
04:59 on the one side, completely void on the other.
05:02 A mohawk, which I would have to really question how a zombie could still retain a mohawk.
05:06 But to be also fair, trash still manages to have her hair.
05:09 This one also does have a leather jack with chains adorned on the front.
05:13 It's nicely painted.
05:14 And even on the back as well, they took as much time to paint the silver there as well.
05:18 I like that they've also added a lot of red here.
05:20 The red with the blood as much as they have in the movie.
05:23 The thing I don't really as much like about the Return of the Living Dead zombies is the
05:26 fact that they're almost impossible to kill.
05:28 Whereas normal zombies you could just blow away their brains and then call it a day.
05:31 Those zombies were much more resilient in the Return of the Living Dead and the follow-up
05:35 sequel, which basically just plays out like the original first Return of the Living Dead.
05:39 But again, the details are really nicely done here.
05:41 You got the rib cage there happening as well as the very lean looking arms.
05:46 And again, all this cool looking blood all over the hands and on the top of the legs
05:49 there as well.
05:50 Now again, there's no articulation here at all other than the already mentioned head
05:53 sculpt.
05:54 So the head is going to rotate all the way around.
05:56 The arms are going to rotate also as well.
05:58 And the legs are about the only other thing that's going to rotate back and forth on the
06:01 figures.
06:02 They do have really the means on the bums of their feet to attach onto a display stand,
06:06 but neither one of these figures actually come included with display stands.
06:09 So that's Suicide, putting him down and probably the more favorite of everyone.
06:13 Here's what a Trash looks like.
06:15 Trash, though, sculpted not quite the same kind of hairstyle that she would have had
06:19 in the movie.
06:20 She's all sort of spikier here, like more of a cactus.
06:22 But I like the decay that they've added all across her body.
06:25 She's got these little areas where her skin has just started to decay away.
06:28 And the head sculpt on this again is fantastic.
06:31 She has this time around actually two eyes instead of just the one.
06:35 Nicely painted as well with the additional pupil painted in red.
06:38 And again, all this additional brown that they've added to the top really does make
06:41 it the zombie shine.
06:43 Now she is missing an arm, unfortunately.
06:45 Where the whereabouts of the arm are right now are unknown.
06:48 But again, really nice looking details.
06:50 She seems to have again like some decay there on the tops of her shoulders.
06:53 All the midriff area there just below her belly top is as you can see, it's just worn
06:57 away.
06:58 And again, like she has basic, more simple articulation.
07:01 It seems to be actually when you're looking at the two figures that the legs are probably
07:04 going to be shared exactly the same.
07:06 I don't think there's anything really different necessarily between Suicide and Trash, but
07:09 that's fine.
07:10 I obviously we all sort of look the same underneath.
07:12 Man, that's a deep thought.
07:14 We all kind of look the same really underneath anyways.
07:16 Makes no sense really for them to use brand new sculpts for at least Trash's body.
07:20 Again, the articulation here on Trash is going to be exactly the same.
07:24 So the head's going to rotate all the way around.
07:26 You can take those arms and rotate them, yes, all the way around as well.
07:29 And the legs do move forward and back also.
07:32 Nice overall little figures.
07:33 For me at least, I'm going to be displaying these not in fact loose like the earlier look
07:37 that Simpsons, but rather instead I'm going to be bringing back in the packaging, which
07:41 I really did think I was going to be cutting a little more carefully.
07:44 I was a little more haphazardly cutting it when it came to Trash's packaging.
07:48 But ultimately though, the zombies are not going to be going back in the ground where
07:50 they really should belong, but rather instead they're going to be going inside of the plastic
07:54 tray here.
07:55 Nice looking figures though from Super 7.
07:56 I mean, I would have really loved these could be a little bit taller, but the idea that
08:00 we even got ourselves zombies, and more importantly that we got ourselves zombies from the 1985
08:04 poster than rather the way they actually look in the movie.
08:07 Nice touch on the part of Super 7.
08:09 On one end, I do wish that Super 7 could have made more collector friendly packaging for
08:13 all the Reaction line of figures.
08:14 That could then mean if you as a collector wanted to take them out from time to time,
08:17 put them on the shelf or just move around their limited articulation points, you could
08:21 then put them back in the packaging, no harm, no foul.
08:24 I know though, the charm that goes along with the Reaction figures is the fact that they're
08:27 supposed to look like retro toy lines.
08:29 Retro toy lines back then would have only been a cardboard backing and then the blister
08:32 card bubble in front of it.
08:34 As a kid, you would just be ripping it open anyways and throwing away the packaging.
08:37 Now I had already done that with the Simpsons, threw away the packaging or sorry, recycled
08:41 the packaging.
08:42 I'm definitely not going to be doing that when it comes to the Return of the Living
08:44 Dead.
08:45 I feel the packaging reminiscent of course of the original 1985 poster is too good, too
08:49 good to be thrown away.
08:50 So shortly after this review, these guys will be put back into their bubbles and I'll be
08:54 hanging them on the wall.
08:55 I did I think a little bit better of a job of cutting Suicide's packaging.
08:59 Trash got a little rough when it came to the bottom of her bubble.
09:02 So I'm going to be probably be a little bit more careful.
09:04 They seem to be holding the figures fine and actually in between takes, I just tried to
09:07 put them back in their bubbles and back into their packaging and it seems to be that they're
09:11 going to be able to be fine.
09:12 I certainly would recommend if you guys are looking to try to save the packaging on these,
09:16 only cut the sides and only cut the bottom.
09:18 If you cut from the top, it means that the bubble may likely swing forward and that's
09:22 not going to look good at all.
09:23 If you really do want to make them look as they're pristine and never been opened from
09:27 the sides and along the bottom, a little bit of advice there.
09:30 Also as well, if you guys are interested, these are currently available.
09:33 They're sold separately.
09:34 So if in order to get say for example, Trash and Suicide as a pair, you will have to buy
09:38 them as separate items.
09:40 Ideally it would have been great if they could have packaged them together like they would
09:43 have been in the poster.
09:44 I don't mind the fact that the reaction figures as a whole are only about $19.99, about a
09:47 little $20 or so when you're buying them online.
09:50 But what do you guys think of the Return of the Living Dead?
09:52 1985 zombies.
09:53 Is this something you guys could see yourselves picking up?
09:56 Let me know down below in the comment section.
09:58 A big thank you once again to the folks over at Super7 that did take the time and provide
