00:00 "Hi everybody, it's during this evening. Hello, welcome aboard, welcome aboard."
00:04 Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the most shocking times
00:08 Drag Race Queens forgot the lyrics to a lip-sync song. We'll be focusing on the
00:13 American franchise and discussing elimination outcomes, so a spoiler alert is in effect.
00:18 "I've been denying how I feel, you've been denying what you want."
00:22 Number 10. Jujubee.
00:25 Fans cannot get enough of Jujubee. The famously competitive Season 2 queen has appeared on nearly
00:31 every Drag Race spinoff she's eligible to compete on. "If Raven wins, everybody loses a finger."
00:37 Her lip-syncing skills are pretty well-known at this point. That's why it was really surprising
00:42 to see her struggle during a performance of Lizzo's "Juice." "Baby, you ain't being slick,
00:47 don't dare try to cop a feel for me." Going up against lip-sync assassin Monet X Change,
00:52 Juju didn't seem too comfortable with the song. For every line she knew,
00:56 there was another where her mouth just started making shapes in time to the music.
00:59 "All my juice, baby, baby, all my juice, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah."
01:05 Monet would still have been stiff competition even if Jujubee knew all the lyrics,
01:10 but it would have been amazing to see both firing on all cylinders.
01:13 Number 9. Pork Chop.
01:16 It's so important to remember our history, and Victoria "Pork Chop" Parker is nothing if not
01:20 a trailblazer. Not only did Pork Chop make drag race herstory by being the first queen to sashay
01:26 away, she was also the first to go up on her lyrics during a lip-sync for your life. The
01:30 good-natured veteran queen twirled and did her best to entertain. "I've always been taught in
01:35 any situation, whatever's going on around you, whatever you've got on, entertain."
01:39 What she forgot to do was actually mouth the words to the song. For large pockets of RuPaul's
01:45 supermodel, you better work. She made the curious choice to not move her lips at all.
01:55 "I was surprised because Victoria was all over the place falling."
01:59 It was confusing, considering that Pork Chop was the most seasoned performer of the entire cast.
02:05 "Oh, I've been doing this 21 years. It's a definite advantage."
02:10 Number 8. Tammy Brown.
02:12 Akasha slayed Pork Chop in the very first lip-sync,
02:15 but she once again found herself in the bottom in the very next episode.
02:18 "Ooh, there's something 'bout the skyline tonight."
02:23 This time, she was there with the lovably eccentric Tammy Brown.
02:27 Performing Michelle Williams' "Hold Back the Dawn" right in front of the former Destiny's
02:31 Child member, Akasha was as shocked as we were when Tammy didn't put up a fight.
02:35 "I thought that she was still gonna give me more of a challenge than just standing there
02:38 and not lip-syncing the words at all." There was a reason. Tammy didn't know the song.
02:43 In a confessional, she admitted she hadn't learned the lyrics, and either as a show of defiance or
02:47 to preserve some dignity, she decided she wouldn't even try to perform it.
02:51 "If I had the song down, it would have been better, but I didn't have the song down. And
02:54 I had made the decision before I went on stage today that I was gonna not do that song if it
03:00 happened to me." Number 7. Mariah Paris Balenciaga.
03:04 After falling short in Season 3's Snatch Game, Delta Work and Mariah Paris Balenciaga dueled
03:08 to Jodie Watley's "Looking for a New Love." "Gave it love, you did me wrong,
03:14 didn't know what to do." It was clear that Mariah was not as comfortable with the song as her
03:20 competitor. Although she tried to compensate by mugging for the camera and striking some gorgeous
03:25 poses, the judges and the other contestants saw through it. "Even though Mariah's really serving
03:29 it, Mariah doesn't know her words too well. But Delta's hitting like every word. Mariah's just
03:34 like there like…" She just didn't know the words as well as she should have. Mariah's hilarious
03:40 strategy to fill in the gaps with some alternate lyrics ultimately didn't work. "I'm gonna make
03:45 up something. Fill in the gaps, bitch, with elephant shoe, honey, cantaloupe, and shalaba
03:51 lava tuna." She was scent packing at the end of the lip sync. Number 6. Spice and Malaysia Babydoll
03:58 Fox What happens when neither queen knows the words? Well, in the case of this Season 15
04:03 performance, the answer is absolute hilarity. "My logic behind choosing 'Don't Go Yet' is
04:08 because I know Malaysia does know the words to this song." Like a Russian doll of Drag Race plot
04:15 twists, this one has layers. As Spice and Malaysia Babydoll Fox battle it out in the lip sync Lollapalooza
04:21 Smackdown, it dawns on everyone watching that both queens don't know their lyrics. "Malaysia
04:30 don't know the words. She does not know the words, you're right." Normally, this would be a disaster.
04:35 The end result is a completely wacky and endlessly entertaining battle to be slightly less worse than
04:41 the other bottom queen. From the color commentary by the queens in the workroom to the innovative
04:46 choreography on the main stage, this one is a great time all around. Number 5. Katya
04:58 The Glamazonian Airways challenge was definitely one of the most bizarre challenges the queens
05:02 ever had. At least to that point in Drag Race herstory. Eventual miscongeniality and fake
05:07 Russian woman Katya Zamylochkova opened the season's rucicle with a lengthy and fast-paced
05:12 monologue. Viewers could feel the awkwardness as she barreled through the words. There were
05:23 lyrics she just completely missed, and even the ones she got right were seconds too late.
05:27 To her credit, Katya remained committed to the bit. She may not have gotten a single word right,
05:36 but she never stopped moving her mouth. And honestly, we lucked out as a result.
05:41 If she hadn't landed in the bottom, we never would have gotten her incredible Olivia
05:45 Newton-John lip sync. Number 4. Penny Tration
05:58 The first lip sync of season 5 was a showdown between the youngest queen and one of the most
06:02 seasoned ones. Penny Tration may have had years on Serena
06:11 Cha-Cha, but the fresh-faced and controversial young queen had a not-so-secret weapon.
06:15 She knew the lyrics. The crowd-pleasing Miley Cyrus-tracked "Party in the USA"
06:20 proved too wordy and unfamiliar for Penny, and it ended up being her swan song.
06:24 "I absolutely have never performed 'Party in the USA.' I'm really just focusing on
06:29 doing the best job I can with what I've got."
06:31 Everyone went into this lip sync fully expecting Serena to go home. The other queen's shock at
06:37 the eventual elimination was as much about Penny as it was about Serena getting to remain with them
06:42 for another week. Number 3. Mo Hart
06:56 Facts are facts, America! And the fact here is Mo Hart didn't know the lyrics to Carly
07:01 Rae Jepsen's cut to "The Feeling." "I had a dream, oh was it real? We crossed the line and it was on."
07:07 Try as she might, she could not get her footing in this lip sync for your life against the vixen.
07:12 She seemed to have caught a few words during the track's catchy chorus, but it was clear
07:16 she was lost at sea on that stage. We didn't even need Aja O'Hara's astute observation to
07:21 realize what had gone wrong. "This is on, can't make it stop, give me all you got."
07:28 Viewers had grown to love Mo, but it was pretty rough to see her ditch her wig and try out some
07:33 unique cartwheels instead of lip syncing. Even Rue couldn't hide how disappointed she was.
07:38 "It breaks my heart to say, sashay away." "I appreciate you for giving me this opportunity.
07:45 I'm sorry I let you down, and I love you all."
07:48 Number 2. Charli Hydes
07:51 It was the "Charli, let's go!" heard 'round the world.
07:54 When she landed in the bottom two for the talk show challenge, season 9's Charli Hydes decided
08:07 it was her time to go. While Trinity the Tuck poured her entire soul into this Britney Spears
08:12 lip sync, Charli stayed in one spot and pointed for most of the song. "I have been told what
08:17 I should do with it, and keep both my hands above the blanket when the light's out."
08:24 Although she clearly knew the tune, it seemed like she was usually a beat behind the next line
08:29 as if waiting for the lyric to start to figure out what was next. Whether it was complete disinterest
08:34 or defeatism, Charli's was one of the show's most notorious eliminations. "Trinity is selling
08:40 the song. Charli, on the other hand, it looks like she's telling children to get off her lawn."

08:59 Number 1. Valentina
09:03 Season 9 was a particularly good season for jaw-dropping moments,
09:07 and they run the gamut from the iconic to the completely baffling.
09:11 "Nothing can explain what I'm feeling as I'm waiting to have to lip-sync for my life. I'm
09:17 scared." Our number one pick belongs in the second category. Valentina was a front-runner when she
09:22 landed in the bottom two. That's why we all let out a collective gasp when she wouldn't
09:31 take her mask off. Little did we realize, she didn't know the words to the song.
09:36 On top of giving us several iconic and meme-able moments,
09:40 Valentina's demise also made her a drag race legend.
09:43 And who knows, maybe she was just teaching us the importance of masking up long before
09:53 it was necessary to do so. Which of these forgetful queens had you clutching your pearls?
09:58 Bring it to the comments.
