00:00 Good morning, guys, and happy Friday.
00:04 Unfortunately, it's not a happy Friday across the pond.
00:07 Storm Kieran has brought hurricane-strength winds to France, the Channel Islands and southern
00:12 England, leaving more than a million people without access to electricity and forcing
00:16 hundreds of schools to close.
00:18 The storm has claimed at least four lives, two in France and another two in Belgium.
00:23 Meanwhile, don't let this cold start to November fool you.
00:26 The climate is still in a warming phase.
00:29 The scientist who sounded the global warming alarm back in the 1980s is saying the Earth
00:33 is warming even faster than he predicted.
00:36 A new report published in the journal called "Oxford Open Climate Change" says we are in
00:41 the early phase of a climate emergency.
00:44 And finally, we take you under the sea to a place where starfish roam the ocean floor.
00:48 When you think of a starfish, you probably think of it having a body in the middle and
00:52 five legs protruding from that body.
00:54 Well, new genetic research is telling us that what we thought was the starfish's body is
00:59 actually the starfish's head.
01:01 OK, look, we understand this story is hard to, shall we say, wrap your head around, but
01:07 it gets even weirder.
01:09 Scientists say this new revelation could help answer some of the biggest remaining questions
01:13 about starfish, including their shared ancestry with humans and other animals that look nothing
01:19 like them.
01:20 All right, guys, it's Friday, and that means it's time to see what our AccuWeather social
01:24 media followers are talking about this morning in our current Weather Take Poll.
01:28 Do you prefer daylight saving time or standard time?
01:32 The results right now are 53 percent for standard and 47 percent for daylight.
01:38 We are in daylight time now, and we'll fall back to standard time this weekend.
01:43 You can cast your vote.

01:48 OK, guys, what say you?
01:50 Standard time or daylight time?
01:52 Standard.
01:53 Really?
01:54 I was going to say daylight.
01:55 I'd just rather it's not changed to clocks.
01:57 Now that I'm a parent.
01:58 That's true.
01:59 I'd rather it's not changed to clocks, but I do like the earlier start to the day.
02:03 Very true.
02:04 Yeah.
02:05 All right.
