00:02 - Hey, it's People in 10.
00:05 Our tribute of the week should come as no surprise.
00:08 Two days after Matthew Perry's death,
00:10 his friends, co-stars spoke out.
00:12 Everyone was wondering when they would say something,
00:15 how they would say it.
00:16 And they stuck together as always for a statement.
00:18 "We were more than just castmates, we are family."
00:22 They say they're devastated
00:23 and there's so much more that they wanna add,
00:25 but for now, they're grieving their friend in private.
00:29 And we're not quite done talking about Matthew.
00:32 As we get more info on his final hours
00:34 and wait on an official cause of death,
00:36 we're also reflecting on his lasting legacy.
00:39 Our quote of the week comes from his now viral
00:41 People interview just last year,
00:43 when he talked about his journey with addiction
00:45 and how he hoped to help others with similar struggles.
00:48 - I say in the book that if I did die,
00:52 it would shock people, but it wouldn't surprise anybody.
00:55 And that's what I'm doing with writing this book.
00:58 That's why I wanted to do it.
00:59 I wanna just talk about the highs and the lows
01:02 because people are suffering out there.
01:05 And maybe if they hear a story
01:07 from somebody they've seen on TV, that's worse than theirs
01:11 or just the same as theirs, they'll be filled with hope,
01:14 which is the key thing.
01:17 - And he did give people hope.
01:19 He once testified before Congress
01:21 about treatment over incarceration for drug offenders,
01:24 and even had plans for a foundation
01:26 to support people dealing with substance abuse
01:28 at the time of his death.
01:30 And before we move on,
01:32 gotta set the record straight
01:33 about one story floating around this week.
01:36 So there's been a lot of talk
01:37 about Matthew's Friends co-star Lisa Kudrow
01:40 supposedly adopting his dog after he died.
01:43 But as nice as that sounds,
01:44 the thing is Matthew didn't have a dog when he died.
01:48 People might be thinking of Alfred,
01:50 who Matthew posted about a couple of years ago.
01:52 So cute, right?
01:53 But since his engagement with Molly Hurwitz
01:55 ended in 2021, Alfred has lived with his mom, not his dad.
02:00 So he doesn't need to be adopted.
02:02 You hear that?
02:05 Wedding bells are ringing, y'all.
02:06 It really started to feel like the year
02:08 of the breakups for a while there.
02:10 But sources tell people that Zoe Kravitz
02:12 and Channing Tatum are engaged.
02:15 And we spotted that big old rock, lucky girl.
02:18 She showed it all, subtle though,
02:19 at Kendall Jenner's Halloween party.
02:21 An honorable mention goes to Milo Ventimiglia.
02:24 I know, happy for him, sad for us.
02:26 We found out this week he secretly married
02:29 Jara Mariano earlier this year.
02:31 She's a model, in case you couldn't tell.
02:33 And yes, Gilmore Girls fans,
02:35 you heard that last name, right?
02:37 - Written by Jess Mariano.
02:39 - It's no misprint.
02:40 - Love is in the air.
02:42 Our baby bump of the week has to go to Nicole Johnson,
02:45 wife of swimming champ Michael Phelps,
02:47 because she announced they're expecting their fourth child.
02:50 At this point, the only thing Michael has more than kids
02:53 are Olympic gold medals, 23 to be exact.
02:56 They also celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary
02:59 this week, so I guess things are going swimmingly for them.
03:02 Of course, no pun intended.
03:04 What's better than one ageless beauty of the week?
03:08 How about two?
03:09 Hollywood B-day twins, Tracee Ellis Ross and Gabrielle Union
03:13 both turned 51 this Sunday.
03:16 Listen, I'm gonna need them to drop that skincare routine.
03:18 Our girl T is clearly in her prime.
03:21 Look at her glow, y'all.
03:23 While this Scorpio queen is ready to sting all the haters.
03:27 Like fine wine, people, like fine wine.
03:30 Okay, let me set the stage
03:33 for our burning question of the week.
03:35 Justin Timberlake headed to Mexico
03:37 where he was photographed for the first time
03:38 since Britney Spears dropped some major JT bombshells
03:42 in her memoir.
03:43 I got questions and I know who has the answers.
03:46 - Hey, Mika, what's up?
03:49 - Jack, listen, Justin Timberlake
03:51 really has been feeling the heat.
03:53 What are people saying
03:54 about how he's handling the aftermath?
03:56 - Yeah, so before Britney Spears' new memoir,
03:58 "The Woman in Me" came out with a bunch of revelations
04:00 about her relationship with Justin Timberlake,
04:03 sources told people that Justin was in a great place,
04:06 focusing on career and family.
04:08 He was photographed for the first time
04:10 since the book came out.
04:11 He was with his family and wife, Jessica Biel,
04:14 touching down in Cabo for a vacation.
04:16 - Do you think he's read the memoir?
04:17 - I don't know if he's read the memoir.
04:19 After the book came out
04:21 and he started catching some heat online,
04:23 he did turn off his Instagram comments,
04:25 whether or not that was related.
04:26 But Justin has not said anything.
04:28 At this point, we don't have an official statement from him.
04:30 Only time will tell.
04:31 He's supposed to have new music coming up as well,
04:34 so maybe he'll save it for the lyrics.
04:36 - Mm-mm-mm-mm, well, crime be a river.
04:39 Well, thank you, Jack, for giving us this insight.
04:41 - Thank you so much.
04:43 - The queen of Halloween strikes again
04:45 for our fit of the week.
04:47 Heidi Klum, are you under there?
04:49 - I have to say, I feel a little bit naked on my own.
04:52 - So she made sure she wasn't alone,
04:54 recruiting her hubby, Tom Kaulitz, to go as an egg,
04:57 and a whole team of actors as her individual feathers.
05:01 - I wanted to have like a bunch of people
05:03 and we all become one thing.
05:05 And for me, that one thing in my mind was the peacock.
05:08 - So now that Halloween's over,
05:10 you'd think she'd take a well-deserved break,
05:12 but hey, next year's costume isn't gonna prep itself.
05:15 - I know already what it's gonna be.
05:18 - This week's throwback pop culture moment
05:20 packs some major star power,
05:22 and it's brought to you by Pepsi.
05:24 We're taking it back to the Roman Empire.
05:27 Well, actually, just 13 years ago,
05:29 when Enrique Iglesias moonlighted as emperor
05:32 and Beyonce, Pink, and Britney Spears
05:34 hit the arena as gladiators.
05:36 ♪ Come on, come on ♪
05:39 ♪ We love, we love, we love, we love, we love ♪
05:44 - Now at the time, these four had already hit it big,
05:47 but they've all continued to break barriers,
05:49 records, and even conservatorships.
05:51 Finally free after 13 years,
05:53 Britney caused quite the stir with her new memoir.
05:56 Enrique holds the record for producing
05:58 27 number one Spanish language singles.
06:01 And Beyonce, well, she's Beyonce.
06:04 She most recently took the world by storm
06:06 with her Renaissance tour,
06:07 while Pink soared to new heights with hers.
06:10 Now over a decade later,
06:11 she reflected on the experience making the commercial
06:14 and had sweet things to say about Brit in particular.
06:17 She told People in February
06:18 that she's very protective of her
06:20 and has always felt like a big sister to her.
06:22 Hmm, women supporting women, we love to see it.
06:26 Now it's the sit down.
06:27 Five questions with Ian Somerhalder.
06:29 Hi, Ian.
06:30 In 2020, you brought us the documentary "Kiss the Ground,"
06:33 and now you're back with the followup "A Common Ground."
06:36 - If you are the people who can make a change,
06:39 let's prioritize the farmer.
06:41 - Tell me why this documentary is so important right now.
06:44 - Never in history has humanity ever been faced
06:48 with systemic, ubiquitous pollution issues,
06:52 climate issues, social issues,
06:54 economic issues, political issues.
06:56 Like, obviously if you look at the world
06:58 or you look at our lives, it's systemic, right?
06:59 So when you're trying to fix something,

07:03 So "Kiss the Ground,"
07:04 and anyone who hasn't seen "Kiss the Ground" yet,
07:06 I really urge them to go see the film
07:09 because what it does is it sets up
07:11 where "Common Ground" picks up
07:13 and stands on the whole idea
07:15 and the promise of regenerative agriculture.
07:17 And so first of all, people say like,
07:19 "What the hell is regenerative agriculture
07:21 "and why should I care?"
07:23 Then I always say the same thing.
07:23 It's super simple.
07:25 Regenerative agriculture is just the use
07:27 of planned grazing methods
07:29 and using agriculture, living, growing plants
07:32 to sequester enormous amounts of carbon dioxide
07:35 and to stick it safely back in the ground where it belongs.
07:37 And when you do that,
07:38 you feed all those vital microorganisms in the soil,
07:41 so healthier soil, healthier people, healthier planet.

08:01 and help us tell Washington
08:03 that we want profitable farmers,
08:05 that we want chemical-free food
08:08 and that we want a bright, healthy future.
08:10 - Now, "Common Ground" features so many familiar faces.
08:13 How did it feel to come together on this?
08:15 - Incredible.
08:16 You look at this cast,
08:17 Donald Glover, Laura Dern, Woody Harrelson,
08:19 Jason Momoa, Rosario Dawson,
08:21 just came on as an EP.
08:22 She's working so hard.
08:24 And then me, I'm actually the lowest one on the totem pole
08:26 'cause I quit acting four years ago
08:28 to build my companies and raise my kids
08:30 and launch this film.
08:32 - I know you and Nikki just welcomed your second baby

08:36 Congratulations.
08:37 How has being a father changed your perspective
08:39 on the future of our planet and our relationship with it?
08:43 - For me, it's all about personal growth
08:46 and becoming a much, much, much better, stronger human being.
08:51 I think one of the big phrases floating around out there,
08:54 you have to be stronger than your excuses,
08:56 especially as a parent.
08:58 I mean, our children, they're in harm's way.
09:00 You have to be stronger than your excuses.
