00:05 Today we're going to be talking about the upcoming fourth film in the Planet of the
00:08 Apes reboot franchise, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.

00:26 Now Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is directed by Wes Ball who is known for his work on the
00:31 Maze Runner trilogy.
00:32 The film stars Owen Teagues as Cornelius who is also the son of Caesar, who was the main
00:36 focus of the past three movies.
00:39 The film also stars Freya Allen, Peter Macken, Eka Darville, Kevin Durand, and William H.
00:44 Macy.
00:45 Kingdom is set many years after the events of War for the Planet of the Apes, which,
00:49 spoiler alert, ended with the death of Caesar and his army of apes finding a new home in
00:54 a hidden oasis.
00:55 In this upcoming sequel, we will see how the world has changed since the events of War,
00:59 and according to what we know of the film so far, there have been many ape clans that
01:03 have emerged in this new land, and each of them are following different interpretations
01:07 of Caesar's teachings.
01:08 Some of these communities twist some of Caesar's ideas and enslave other apes as well as remaining
01:12 humans.
01:13 And among all of this, his son embarks on a journey to find freedom side by side with
01:17 a human girl, played by Freya Allen.
01:20 This movie promises to explore new themes and perspectives on the conflict between apes
01:24 and humans, as well as the vision amongst the apes themselves.
01:27 It's also going to be introducing some new characters and locations that will expand
01:31 the overall mythology of the franchise.
01:33 Back on September 29th, 2022, on Twitter, we got a first look at Kingdom of the Planet
01:37 of the Apes.
01:38 The image showed Cornelius riding a horse with an eagle purse on his arm, very, very
01:42 similar to something Caesar would do, in front of a waterfall and a ruined cityscape.
01:46 The image is suggesting that Cornelius would be a leader among his fellow apes, and he's
01:50 going to be facing some challenges from some of these other rival groups.
01:53 Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on May
01:57 24th, 2024, and overall in the franchise, it's going to be the 10th Planet of the Apes
02:02 film, which began with Planet of the Apes in 1968.
02:05 The franchise has been one of the most iconic and influential science fiction series in
02:09 film history, covering themes of evolution, social justice, animal rights, and human nature.
02:13 Personally, I'm looking forward to more epic fights like what we got with Caesar and
02:17 Coba.
02:18 And honestly, after the performance from Andy Serkis, I'm a little weary of a new lead
02:22 filling in his shoes, but I'm hoping that we can get something that can live up to his
02:26 work.
02:27 For me, that was a huge part of why I loved the first three films, so I'm hoping that
02:30 the performances can give us something just as amazing that we got with Andy Serkis.
02:34 I don't know if it'll fully live up to it, because Andy Serkis is very special, this
02:38 is his area of expertise, but we'll just have to wait and see how everything pans out.
