00:00 Hi I'm Laura Reid, the Deputy Features Editor at the Yorkshire Post. I've just come on to
00:05 talk you through some of the features that we've run online and in print this
00:08 week in case you've missed them. Lots of long reads to be going at over the
00:13 weekend and we've of course got our Yorkshire Post magazine as well, published
00:16 on Saturday as part of our weekend edition with lots more features to come
00:20 in there as well. So this week we spoke to BBC Look North presenter Peter
00:27 Levy as he started to present the lunchtime news again after 21 years. He

00:46 volunteering to help others and we heard from scientist and author Sarah
00:50 Watkinson on her climate themed novel and the vital role that fungi plays in
00:55 the Yorkshire Dales. Author and former diplomat Jean Harrod told us about how
01:00 the North Yorkshire legend of Kitty Garthway has been the inspiration for
01:03 her latest book and we heard how a California author discovered and was
01:08 inspired by the fact that his ancestors were linked to tragedy in Yorkshire's
01:12 coalfields. Sheffield singer Richard Harley told us about how music kept him
01:17 on the straight and narrow whilst a former drug dealer from Rotherham spoke
01:21 to us about how he turned his back on crime and is now helping other people to
01:26 address trauma and criminality. In Arts and Culture we looked at Bradford
01:31 Theatre Company Commonwealth's latest show Fast, Fast, Slow and Michael Frayn's
01:37 famous Fast Noises Off which is in Yorkshire this month. If you want to
01:43 keep up to date with all the latest content from the features team we send
