02:59 King Mohammed VI launches a mobile medical unit program for the benefit of the rural world.
03:05 This program, whose convention was signed by Khaled Eid Talib, Minister of Health and Social Protection,
03:10 Mohammed Laazami, coordinator and member of the Board of Directors of the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity,
03:17 and Mohammed Benouda, President and Director General of the Media and Technology Society,
03:21 is committed to the sovereign's deep conviction to make access to health services a major pillar for the consolidation of citizenship and for the realization of a global and integrated human development.
03:33 This program is part of the Royal Reform Project of the Health System and the Generalization of Social Protection.
03:40 It represents a new model of intervention that combines care for the proximity and telemedicine.
03:45 In fact, this pilot program consists of the deployment of connected medical units in areas suffering from a deficit in terms of access to health services.
03:54 These units each have a general practitioner, two nurses and an administrative assistant.
04:00 They are equipped with top biomedical equipment,
04:03 enabling them to provide medical consultations in person for general medicine and specialized teleconsultations
04:09 via a connection with the central telemedicine platform,
04:12 composed of specialists in obstetrical gynecology, pediatrics, endocrinology, dermatology, ORL, cardiology and pneumology.
04:20 The implementation of the program is based on a first phase of a year on the deployment of 50 mobile medical units
04:26 connected across the different regions of the Kingdom and more precisely at the level of four provinces.
04:31 The choice of these provinces was based on an analysis of data relating to the positioning of health centers at the provincial level.
04:38 The first phase of the program will require the mobilization of 20 specialist doctors for the central telemedicine platform,
04:45 50 general practitioners, 100 nurses, 100 assistants distributed across the different provinces.
04:50 A budget of 180 million dirhams will be committed to its implementation.
04:55 The connected mobile medical unit program is the result of efforts by the Department of Health
05:00 to fight against medical deserts and improve access to health care in rural areas,
05:05 taking advantage of the experience and know-how accumulated by the Mohamed V Foundation for Solidarity
05:11 for more than 20 years in the organization of medical caravans for the benefit of the populations
05:16 who are displaced and live in remote areas of medical facilities.
05:20 Under the high patronage of the Mohamed VI Rahim, the works of the 10th General Assembly of the African Union of the Blind continue in Rabat.
05:28 The opening of these works was presided over by Princess Lala Lalli Lamia Esol,
05:34 President of the organization ALA8 for the promotion of the blind in Morocco.
05:38 This is a report by Mahaj Amal and Dris Bayoud in this story signed by us.
05:46 Unity and solidarity. The theme of the works of the 10th General Assembly of the African Union of the Blind,
05:52 which opened on Friday in Rabat, this General Assembly which will continue until October 30,
05:58 aims to inspire and highlight the distinguished African and international experiences,
06:03 and even to contribute to the realization of the autonomy of the blind on a continental level.
06:09 This event is the result of the numerous visits made by His Majesty in several African countries.
06:23 It is also the translation of the royal vision for African cooperation.
06:27 This 10th Assembly also includes as part of the strengthening of the determinants of the strategy of Morocco in its African depth.
06:35 The special attention that His Majesty has had to give to disabled people in general,
06:40 and to the blind and the visually impaired in particular, is realized through enlightened orientations
06:45 and the support of the sovereign to the efforts aimed at the full social integration of visually impaired people
06:51 within the framework of a national strategy with African scope.
06:55 The Ministry of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family has developed a system of disability assessment.
07:11 It will allow us to assess the type of disability according to the criteria of the OMS.
07:15 Based on this system, we will issue a disability card that will define the modalities of interaction of the Ministry with each profile.
07:23 This direct social assistance program is part of the continuity of the generalization of social protection
07:29 and medical coverage for all Moroccans,
07:31 relying on the targeting system that allows the national register of the population and the unified social register.
07:38 This General Assembly aims to allow people, totally or partially blind, to benefit from the right to education,
07:46 social support, and to increase their intellectual skills and abilities in collaboration with all the departments concerned.
07:55 I think this is a really wonderful set up here in Morocco.
08:00 It is a magnificent summit that the Kingdom has organized,
08:03 and it is also important to receive the African Union of the Blind so that all countries can better exchange experiences and expertise.
08:11 People get to talk across countries and share their experiences.
08:15 Oh, it's awesome, amazing, the hospitality.
08:20 I would like to express my gratitude to Morocco for the reception of the 10th General Assembly of the AFUB.
08:25 The Kingdom has already hosted several major events of this union.
08:29 It is also due to it the adoption of the Marrakech Treaty in 2013,
08:32 aiming to facilitate the access of the blind, visually impaired and people who have other difficulties reading the texts printed in the published works.
08:40 The ratification of this treaty by 150 countries around the world
08:43 has been a great relief for all communities of the blind and visually impaired,
08:47 and this beautiful story began in the Kingdom of Morocco under the leadership of King Mohammed VI.
08:52 This important meeting reflects the constant commitment of the Kingdom of Morocco,
09:02 under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI,
09:05 in favor of a south-south cooperative, supportive and active.
09:08 It also reflects the firm determination of the sovereign to deepen the relations
09:12 linking Morocco to its continent of origin, Africa,
09:15 in particular in terms of guaranteeing and consolidating the rights of people with specific needs,
09:21 in particular those with a visual disability.
09:24 World Cup 2030. Morocco, Spain and Portugal sign a joint declaration of intention
09:31 for the organization of the World Cup of Football 2030.
09:35 Declaration by Rafi Samy at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salé.
09:40 According to Fawzi Lerza, President of the Moroccan Royal Football Federation,
09:44 this is the only candidacy that brings together three countries and two continents.
09:49 This World Cup will undoubtedly be an exception in the history of football,
09:54 because it will allow to reconnect with the civilizational heritage that brings together the three countries.
10:00 The next step in the process of this joint candidacy will be the signing by the three federations
10:07 of the FIFA candidacy agreements.
10:10 Ladies and gentlemen, now we will move on to our special file on the war in Gaza.
10:17 The War in Gaza
10:21 We start with the report. The Ministry of Health of Hamas
10:38 has stated that more than 8,000 people have been killed in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the war with Israel,
10:45 half of whom are children. According to a recent report, hundreds of buildings were destroyed
10:50 on Saturday night to Sunday. This is the total blackout in Gaza,
10:55 which is deprived of the Internet and access to the Internet, while the Israeli army is multiplying
11:00 the incursions to the ground, the operations inside the Palestinian city,
11:05 confirmed by a spokesman of the Israeli army. At the same time, the families of the Israeli hostages
11:11 are waiting for the government's explanations to Benyamin Netanyahu against Hamas,
11:17 which demands in return the release of all Palestinian prisoners.
11:21 Valérie Ferrand, correspondent of Mediain TV in Al-Hodz, gives us the situation.
11:27 The situation, as we know, has been even more unbearable since last night for the civilian populations
11:33 in the Gaza Strip. Subject to a fire flood, after three weeks of unprecedented bombing,
11:40 we can speak of a real Israeli military earthquake against the Palestinian people.
11:46 As a result, we have 2,200,000 men, women and children who are more and more
11:52 having trouble finding food and, above all, drinking water.
11:56 We know that a ton of humanitarian aid has arrived from the Egyptian side of the border
12:02 and that a hundred trucks would be ready to enter this Palestinian territory.
12:09 This is a totally insufficient quantity and it does not solve any of the basic problems.
12:15 First, the Israeli bombings that continue and have already targeted,
12:20 throughout the week, shops, markets and bakeries.
12:24 So, even if the aid enters, its distribution is not guaranteed as long as Israel continues its bombings.
12:31 The other crucial problem is, of course, the fuel supply, which is still frozen,
12:39 especially to provide electricity to hospitals, which are still threatened with destruction,
12:45 and above all, to provide drinking water to the population.
12:49 Another issue that is currently being discussed is the exchange of prisoners.
12:55 We know that Israeli families who have relatives captured by Hamas are asking for an exchange.
13:01 The Palestinian movement, for its part, announced that it had captured two new Israeli soldiers
13:07 last night during fierce fighting that took place on the front line.
13:13 Following the Israeli attempt to enter an earthquake inside the Gaza Strip,
13:23 Hamas is ready for this exchange between the Israeli prisoners and the few Palestinian families,
13:30 including women, elderly people and minors, who are incarcerated in Israel.
13:35 Hamas is also ready to talk to Russia about the release of eight Israelis who also have Russian citizenship.
13:43 It is in this context, of course, that the UN General Assembly
13:47 has demanded a large majority on Friday an immediate humanitarian strike,
13:53 a non-conditional resolution rejected by Israel and the United States,
13:57 which denounces the absence of mention of Hamas.
14:00 The Palestinian movement, on the other hand, salutes the resolution and demands its immediate implementation
14:05 to provide fuel and humanitarian aid to civilians.
14:12 In a tweet posted on Twitter, the Israeli army called on the Palestinians to go south of the Gaza Strip
14:18 where humanitarian aid by Egypt and the United States will be received this Sunday by civilians in northern Gaza.
14:25 And the city of Gaza should temporarily move south of Wadi Gaza to a safer area
14:33 where they can receive water, food and medicine to clarify.
14:38 Despite the calls for a de-escalation in the face of the intolerable suffering of the Palestinian civilian population
14:51 denounced by the Red Cross, Israel intensified its offensive against the Gaza Strip
14:56 and warned that its war against Hamas would be long and difficult.
15:01 The president of the International Red Cross Committee, Mirjana Pespo-Lazarik,
15:07 said on Saturday that she was shocked by the intolerable level of human suffering
15:12 while the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres,
15:15 has deplored the unprecedented escalation of the bombings that compromise humanitarian objectives
15:22 while calling for a new ceasefire.
15:26 Since October 7, 1,400 people have died, mostly civilians,
15:33 according to local authorities, while Hamas, in power in Gaza since 2007,
15:38 has claimed that more than 8,000 Palestinians, half of whom are children, have been killed in Israeli bombings.
15:45 The Internet network is undergoing restoration in the Gaza Strip.
15:51 After being cut off on Friday during intense Israeli bombing,
15:56 the NetBlock and the Palestinian telephone company, Pal-Tel, announced that
16:03 this cut-off has prevented millions of people from communicating with their loved ones
16:09 outside or inside the Gaza Strip,
16:12 which has held several international organizations, including the Palestinian Red Cross
16:16 and UN agencies, have also indicated that they have lost contact with their staff in Gaza.
16:41 Presidential 2024 in the United States. Republican Mike Pence is throwing the sponge.
16:46 The former vice president of the United States made the announcement yesterday.
16:50 He is the most important Republican candidate to withdraw from the race to the White House.
16:55 Pence, who was at the pinnacle of the polls, with some 3.8% of the votes,
17:02 according to the specialized site FiveThirtyEight.com,
17:06 did not seem to weigh in against his former boss Donald Trump,
17:11 who is a major favorite of the Republican primaries despite his judicial efforts.
17:16 Back in Morocco, where the Tangier Film Festival continues.
17:24 The deadline for this inevitable Moroccan weekend was given in the city of Detroit.
17:30 A total of 56 film works are on the list for the awards of this 23rd edition,
17:37 marked by the tributes paid to the filmmakers Fatema Loukili, Abdelkader Lacta and Latif Lakhlo.
17:44 On this topic, let's listen to some reactions.
17:46 A way to pay tribute to national cinema.
17:51 Frankly, I think that national cinema needs support
17:56 because it has now taken an interesting turn
18:02 and this turn must be pushed forward.
18:05 And that's why I consider the tribute that is dedicated to us,
18:12 to Latif, to Fatema and to myself,
18:16 it is a tribute to Moroccan cinema.
18:19 Because we are several generations who contributed to the development of national cinema,
18:29 it would be necessary that this attention is also realized in another way,
18:38 vis-à-vis young filmmakers who are starting to arrive,
18:43 who are starting to create interesting things.
18:46 So this attention must be encouraged, supported,
18:57 so that our cinema continues to teach us life.
19:03 Nadjel Nizar, who managed to number the film,
19:10 has a very good copy now.
19:13 I saw it again a month ago and I assure you that when I saw Hamido's first shot, I cried.
19:20 And now I want to cry.
19:23 You see the images for which you gave everything, 55 years ago, still alive.
19:32 It's a wonder.
19:34 I am very happy.
19:40 All these directors, these screenwriters, these producers,
19:46 show us a little bit of their work this year.
19:49 I think there are three categories,
19:53 we have short films, feature films and documentaries.
19:56 It's great. It's not very common, so I think we're going to have a lot of fun.
20:02 On the other hand, I am on a feature film that will be released on November 29,
20:07 "Les Divorcés de Casablanca" directed by Aïd Bensouda.
20:11 We are out of competition on this festival, but I hope you will like it.
20:15 And in any case, have a good festival.
20:17 The world of cinema is mourning.
20:20 The band of friends of the famous "Syrian American Friends"
20:23 has lost one of its members, the actor Matthew Perry,
20:26 who played the character of Shander Bing in the successful sitcom,
20:31 was found dead at home at the age of 54.
20:35 American media reported on Saturday.
20:38 In a statement, the Warner Bros. TV studio, which produced the iconic series,
20:43 said it was devastated by the news of his death.
20:47 According to the Los Angeles Times, the actor was found dead, unconscious,
20:51 apart from his assistant in his jacuzzi at his home in Los Angeles.
20:56 No clues suggesting that it could be a criminal act
21:00 were found, according to anonymous sources quoted by the Los Angeles Times
21:05 and TMZ, which announced the death first.
21:27 This is the end of this edition. Thank you for following it.
21:30 The news is back on Mediantv Africa.
