00:00 Life of Pi, Aang's film, and Martin Scorsese's Hugo,
00:05 and even Ridley Scott's Prometheus,
00:07 these were filmmakers at the top of their game
00:10 authoring in 3D.
00:11 Those are worthy films.
00:13 It's all the kind of rank and file conversion movies
00:16 where the filmmakers haven't cared
00:18 or the studio hasn't let them author,
00:20 shoot, actually shoot in 3D.
00:23 They're not that good.
00:23 And I think it's hurt it.
00:25 But we also gotta put it in perspective.
00:28 When Avatar came out, there were 6,000-ish
00:31 digital 3D screens in the world.
00:35 There's now 120,000 3D-enabled digital screens in the world,
00:40 60,000 alone in China.
00:42 So it's much more ubiquitous, it's much more available,
00:46 it's much more accessible, and it's much less important.
00:49 - Right. - Right?
00:50 Much less important.
00:51 I mean, people will make choices.
00:53 Nobody's gonna go to see a movie because it's in 3D.
00:56 They're gonna go see a movie
00:56 because of all the other reasons they wanna see.
