00:00 Oh, you'll find that Jack has an easy time keeping his identity under wraps.
00:05 Here's your spooky spot in the Jade of Toys, Universal Monsters, The Invisible Man.
00:10 [Music]
00:29 [Rustling]
00:43 Even the moon was frightened by him.
00:45 Inspired by the 1933 classic, The Invisible Man is here and collectible.
00:49 Complete with robes, scarf, gloves and sunglasses,
00:52 the mysterious chemist makes his debut as part of the Jade of Toys, Universal Monster figures.
00:57 This authentically licensed 6-inch action figure features highly detailed sculpting and premium painted details.
01:03 His fully articulated form comes with alternate head with peeling bandages and multiple accessories.
01:09 In a moment, you'll see that his face is empty space.
01:12 But before we actually do that, let me first grab the tape measure and see how tall The Invisible Man stands.
01:16 As well, I'd like to thank the folks over at Jade of Toys that did provide this sample of Universal Monsters, Invisible Man,
01:21 that we could have a look at this review.
01:23 This guy came out, I think, last year around the same time as The Wolfman,
01:26 although we are now getting the chance to finally have a look at them during the month of Spottober.
01:30 Speaking of The Wolfman, speaking of the Universal Monsters, and perhaps speaking of Spottober,
01:35 I will be also bringing those other Universal Monsters from Jade of Toys in a second for comparisons.
01:39 Back though to The Invisible Man, the figure stands 6 inches in height, or is going to be about 15 centimeters tall.
01:45 Oh, speaking of The Wolfman, speaking of The Wolfman, here's what he looks like with The Wolfman.
01:50 And he's actually about the same size as Wolfie, if you can actually compare the two headwise.
01:54 A figure that, as well, we looked at not this year necessarily, but in the earlier years.
01:58 Here's what the figure, as well, looks like with Dracula.
02:00 Not the Bella Lugosi Dracula sculpt, though. We will be looking at that one in an upcoming review.
02:04 Here's also, as well, what The Invisible Man looks like with Frankenstein's monster, as well.
02:09 Here's what he looks like with the Gill Man.
02:11 And, if I can actually just get the Gill Man to stand, here's also, as well, what he looks like with the Bride of Frankenstein.
02:17 Experiments and more are all in stores.
02:20 We have a look at the accessories that come included now with The Invisible Man.
02:23 First, the figure comes included with his journal book.
02:26 The journal book, though, as you can see, has been painted nicely here in white,
02:29 with "Bound" on the front and "Bound" on the back, and "Bound" in the spine, all nicely in cranberry red.
02:35 The spine has also been adorned with some additional gold.
02:38 Now, he does have the means to hold this, sort of as a two-fold.
02:41 He has this gripping hand here that is really best suited for holding, really, the beaker.
02:45 But, though, with a little bit of time, a little bit of persistence,
02:48 you can pry the fingers away from the palm, and you can get the book in his hand.
02:52 Unfortunately, though, you can see I tried to do that on this one side, and it has worn away the paint.
02:58 So, I would probably suggest, it's best advised to probably have him holding it from the spine,
03:02 not holding it from the pages.
03:04 Don't do what I just did.
03:06 You'll end up with this as a result of that.
03:08 But, I do like the idea that it has a book.
03:10 I mean, I like the idea that it doesn't have any printing or anything on it,
03:12 but it's a nice bound book to come included with the figure.
03:15 I did already mention the fact the figure comes included as well with a beaker.
03:19 The beaker for his experiment, you can see.
03:21 It looks to be filled with a clear liquid, possibly even empty.
03:25 I'm guessing it looks to be clear, though.
03:27 But, you can see, like, it's been molded nicely in a see-through clear plastic.
03:31 Now, of course, going back to that hand we had already had a look at,
03:33 this has no problem at all actually holding the beaker.
03:36 We're just going to take the beaker and slide it into his hand.
03:38 I feel comfortable enough to say it holds it well.
03:42 I mean, obviously, tilting it upside down is going to do no good anyways,
03:45 because the majority of it is all up the top here.
03:47 But, it holds it, like I said, fairly well.
03:51 I'm going to put that all to the side.
03:52 The figure as well comes included with this fedora.
03:54 The fedora is fairly soft, although it's not as soft as I was expecting.
03:59 A bit of black plastic, molded fairly well as well.
04:02 You can also take that.
04:03 And, where do hats go?
04:05 Yes, very good.
04:06 Hats go on top of the head.
04:07 So, we're going to go ahead and do that,
04:08 and just fit it on top of the existing head for the Invisible Man.
04:11 You can choose for yourself if you want to have this to be your defaulted look for the figure,
04:15 or, because it's bandaged as well as it is,
04:18 I might actually be more prone to have the figure displayed, I feel, without the fedora,
04:22 to give you really a chance at all the talented work that Jadatoy's artists put into this piece.
04:26 You can see the wrapping works quite well, and he does have the goggles there on the front.
04:30 I'd like to get myself my hands on Invisible Man goggles.
04:33 I've got to think that there's probably a company out there that's producing one-to-one wearable scaled goggles
04:38 that look similar to this.
04:40 I think that would look really fun, especially if I'm going for a walk one day.
04:43 Now, the figure does also have an alternate head sculpt, but I'm going to leave that for a second.
04:47 Again, we've already looked at the fact and established the fact that Jadatoy's has done a really good job here on the sculpting of the figure.
04:53 I like the way they've actually trimmed the gold.
04:54 The paint is actually really clean on this.
04:56 You can maybe see as well that he actually has the outlining of his ears where the goggles would sit on top of that.
05:03 There's an outlining of his nose.
05:04 You can't quite make out his lips, but all the features that you would imagine would be underneath those bandages.
05:09 One thing that's really neat, though, is the next accessories that the figure comes included with as well.
05:13 If you want to go a little more creative, and I certainly will use the word "creative,"
05:18 Jadatoy's went really cleverly when it came to actually the accessory end of things.
05:23 First of all, he comes included with one that actually is him pulling the glove off the other hand.
05:28 Let me describe how that's going to work.
05:31 Basically, what I'm going to do is I'm going to take the figure that already has a closed fist.
05:35 I'm going to remove it altogether.
05:37 Normally, this would then be the time that I would put a new hand back in place, not this time around, though.
05:41 What I am going to do then is I'm going to go to the other flat hand.
05:44 I'm going to also remove that as well.
05:46 Where is he going with all this?
05:48 I'm sure everybody's asking.
05:49 We're going to remove that.
05:50 We're going to pop then in this hand.
05:52 You can see it's basically this hand holding the glove.
05:55 Just plug that into the provided peg hole.
05:58 Once that's in place, you can kind of twist this as well to get it basically the look that you want.
06:03 Because he now has afforded to him double hinges on his elbows, just bend the elbows as best you can get it.
06:09 Then we're just going to bend this elbow so it looks like the Invisible Man is basically just pulling off his glove.
06:15 If I had myself a tiny little hula hoop, I'd run that in between so you can see there's nothing connecting the two.
06:21 You may even want to have it a little bit closer because it still holds the form of the hand.
06:25 It basically would probably be still attached, I think, to the hand and probably just pulling it off.
06:29 But boy, that's a neat effect.
06:31 The neat effects don't just stop there, though.
06:33 Just don't start and stop there.
06:35 The figure also has one other thing that's really neat.
06:37 I'm going to go ahead and just pop the hand off right now.
06:39 And I guess we're just going to need a...
06:41 I'm just going to put this defaulted hand in for right now.
06:44 The other thing that the Invisible Man has, and I haven't seen many companies actually do this,
06:49 is he does actually include a head that has the unwrapped or partially unwrapped bandages from the top of the head.
06:55 I'm not sure really why there's a ball joint on the top.
06:58 It doesn't really serve a purpose at all.
07:00 I thought at one point that the ball joint was facing the wrong way.
07:03 But this is the part that's going to go on top of his neck.
07:05 What you'll do is you'll attach this just to his hand.
07:10 And then you're going to go ahead and remove the existing head.
07:12 That was a lot easier than I was expecting.
07:14 Take the defaulted head, pop that off, and we're going to pop then the new hand in place.
07:19 Now the only thing about it though is, a couple of times that I've done this, the bandages actually come loose from the hand.
07:24 But basically what you're going to do is you're going to put the bandage back into his hand.
07:27 So it looks like the Invisible Man is pulling off his bandages.
07:31 How neat is that?
07:33 Now you can see inside there's still the shininess of the black plastic.
07:36 If you overlook that, it's actually a really neat, interesting effect.
07:39 The thing about it though is I still don't understand why there's a ball joint on the top.
07:43 It doesn't really serve a purpose.
07:45 I thought maybe in fact it would be there just to attach the hat.
07:47 But obviously the bandages are way too close to the hat anyways.
07:50 I don't know why that had to be there.
07:52 But the effect, at least from looking at it straight forward, looks really cool.
07:56 Again, you just want to make sure the bandages stay in place though.
07:59 When it comes to certainly displaying him, I might still go back to, as cool as this may be,
08:03 go back I think just to the defaulted head because again that's more of a classic look to the Invisible Man.
08:07 But again, let me just put this down for a second.
08:10 Job well done. Job well done to the folks over at Jada Toys for coming up with really interesting accessories.
08:15 Not only the removing of the hand, but also one that actually has the removing bandages.
08:19 Just unfortunately you can't use both because of course it has to rely on hands.
08:23 And you only have really two to work with.
08:25 So let's right now at least, we're going to go ahead and remove this.
08:27 This, by the way, there's a peg hole in the bottom of it.
08:30 It's kind of really hard to kind of see that there's even a ball socket there.
08:32 But that's going to plug then onto the ball joint.
08:34 Let's go back to the one that we started with.
08:36 Just pop that in place.
08:38 Getting a closer look at the rest of the details done here to the Invisible Man.
08:42 We've already looked at the head.
08:43 We've established how good that actually looks.
08:45 But if you look at the rest of the outfit, it would basically consist of a smoking jacket.
08:49 It's actually split on the sides.
08:51 Split here and it's split here to allow at least articulation when it comes to the legs.
08:56 So you get a pretty good splits on the figure.
08:58 This is basically made of a fairly soft, stretchy plastic.
09:01 Almost more of like a rubbery material.
09:03 But at least it allows for articulation on the figure.
09:06 And as you can also see as well, it's not one piece.
09:09 Looking at this initially, I would have thought that the figure would have had just like one overlaid piece over top of his existing body.
09:15 But not the case at all.
09:16 Jada Toys found a way to still incorporate much appreciated articulation on the top of his torso.
09:21 I will also say too, just before we actually look at the articulation on the figure,
09:25 the touches of detail to like the little grid lines that they've actually added here.
09:29 Everything seems really quite clean.
09:32 It's a little bit of a bleed of the yellow onto the red on the side of the belt here.
09:35 But overall, like the robe look is really well done.
09:38 They've also added some additional darker colors of purple in there as well.
09:41 That's a nice contrasting with the otherwise light crimson color that they use for the majority of his body.
09:46 Down below that, you can also see as well that he's got himself the striped pants.
09:50 And again, like the striping lines of both the red and the black, very nicely applied.
09:55 For the articulation on the Invisible Man, head is going to be on a ball joint.
09:59 But it's not just a ball joint. Oh no.
10:01 First of all, he already has the ball joint.
10:03 That moves up and down on the head, back and forth as well.
10:05 You can rotate all the way around.
10:07 But further than that, he also has a ball joint at the base of the neck.
10:10 So you can move it actually in two places, giving you some additional range of motion there as well.
10:14 We know, I already know, we've looked at the fact he does have a torso ball joint.
10:18 So we can rotate that all the way around.
10:20 The figure has shoulders that allow the arms to hinge out beyond the point of 90 degrees.
10:24 You can take as well those arms and rotate them all the way around on both sides.
10:28 The figure has a swivel bicep. Or I guess not quite a swivel bicep.
10:31 Bicep would be kind of right around here.
10:33 He has more so a swivel kind of closer to his shoulders.
10:36 But it allows at least the arm to rotate all the way around.
10:38 The figure has a double hinge on the elbow.
10:40 And the hands as well rotate all the way around.
10:43 Now for the legs. If I can just get the arms back in place.
10:46 For the legs themselves, because of course we looked at the fact that he does have the splits on the sides of his robe.
10:52 It allows at least the legs to split.
10:54 Nice Van Damme splits for the Invisible Man.
10:56 Ouch. That hurts me just looking at it.
10:58 You can take as well the legs and move them forward. You can move them back.
11:01 And if I just move up the jacket for a second.
11:03 Three quarters of the way up the thigh there's a swivel cut.
11:05 So you can rotate that all the way around.
11:07 The figure has a double hinge on the knee.
11:09 And he has still the traditional articulation that you would expect to see with the Universal Monster figures.
11:14 So the little ankle tilt does allow the ankle to move back and forth this way.
11:19 And you can also rock it back and forth there as well.
11:21 I really like the look of the Invisible Man.
11:23 But more importantly, not only do I like the look of the Invisible Man.
11:26 I like the clever use of the accessories that Jada Toys include with him.
11:31 The thing hard about this now is the fact that with the Invisible Man looking already good the way he is right now.
11:36 I would love to really be able to use this.
11:38 I would really love to be able to use these.
11:40 But with one figure you have to choose one look between the three.
11:44 More interested than I am to get probably more than one of these.
11:48 And have the figure displayed with the bandages wrapped off.
11:50 Unwrapped.
11:51 But then of course you're going to need another figure.
11:53 I guess what you could do is if you get two for example.
11:56 Maybe I'm leaning towards getting two.
11:58 One that I can actually have displayed with him pulling the glove off.
12:01 And then getting another Invisible Man where I can actually have the figure displayed with the unwrapped bandages.
12:06 Accessories this cool are too good to be putting back in the packaging.
12:10 You know with all the positive points I did make about the Invisible Man.
12:14 If I was to offer up one negative criticism.
12:16 And it's not even really so much a criticism.
12:17 It's the fact that the figure does include nearly enough hands.
12:20 Wait what?
12:22 Didn't we just already praise the fact that he already had as many cool hands as he has?
12:25 Remember he was pulling off the glove.
12:27 He was holding the beaker.
12:28 I mean right now hey he's pulling the bandages off his face.
12:31 Isn't that nearly all the hands you really would want anyways?
12:34 Well unfortunately though if you wanted to have the figure displayed pulling the bandages off on one side.
12:39 He doesn't then also have the means to hold the beaker.
12:41 Ideally if I wanted to have the figure displayed like this on my shelf.
12:44 I would want him holding the beaker with one hand.
12:46 Pulling the bandages or unraveling the bandages with the other.
12:49 And he can't quite pull that off.
12:51 The only other hand that he has for on the right side of the screen.
12:54 Or basically his left hand.
12:56 The only other hand that he has is the one that's pulling off the glove.
12:59 Well you're obviously not going to be able to use that one.
13:01 If you already got the other hand committed to a job of using the or holding on to the bandages.
13:05 So really unfortunately with only this way I've got him displayed right now.
13:09 You only have the option displaying him with the bandages or with the beaker.
13:13 You can't unfortunately have both.
13:15 Big thank you though once again to the folks over at Jada Toys.
13:17 That did provide the sample of Universal Monsters Invisible Man.
13:21 That we had the chance to have a look at in the month of Spawtober.
13:23 Have you had the chance to grab this guy?
13:25 Now again I think Invisible Man and Werewolf.
13:28 Wolfman, Wolfman excuse me.
13:30 Was actually released last year.
13:32 So of course this guy's been online for a while.
13:34 I think some of the sites in fact have now started to restock him.
13:38 So if you didn't get the chance to grab this guy from before.
13:40 You could probably check around to various sites like Entertainment Earth for example.
13:43 Which I think they are now starting to restock both the Invisible Man and Wolfman.
13:47 If you guys enjoyed this video I want to hit it with a like.
13:49 If you guys are loving the content you guys are seeing.
13:51 And you certainly do want to stick around for the remaining spooky videos.
13:54 That we've got lined up for the rest of this month.
