00:00 This is George Priestman reporting for Liverpool World in the aftermath of Sean Dyche's press
00:03 conference ahead of their trip to West Ham this weekend.
00:06 Starting off with team news, there were no new injury concerns to shout about.
00:09 The only thing to talk about was Ashley Young's suspension from the Merseyside Derby last
00:13 week and he will miss this weekend's game with Nathan Paterson likely to deputise in
00:17 that position after coming on at half-time against Liverpool.
00:20 In terms of the squad and the injuries, Dyche spoke about Seamus Coleman who is back in
00:24 regular team training but he is still quite some ways away from returning to the first
00:29 team as his general fitness and match fitness is nowhere near up to scratch as of yet.
00:34 There's also Dele Alli and Andrea Gomez who are both still building up their match fitness
00:37 and are still some ways away from making a squad.
00:40 Press conference of course started with a one minute silence for Bill Kenwright who
00:43 passed away early this week aged 78.
00:46 Dyche spoke very glowingly of Kenwright who claimed he was a big factor of why he came
00:50 to Everton in the first place.
00:51 He claimed he was always incredibly supportive and the perfect gentleman and of course it's
00:55 been a very emotional few days for everyone at the club.
00:59 In terms of their opposition this weekend, they will be facing David Moyes who of course
01:02 spent a long time at Everton under Bill Kenwright.
01:05 Dyche claimed that Moyes has done a brilliant job at West Ham and he's also trying to fashion
01:09 his Everton side into that of one of the early David Moyes sides at Everton who were obviously
01:13 much more successful than the current side.
01:15 The pair are clearly old friends and have a lot of respect for each other but this weekend
01:18 is a very important game for both sides.
01:21 West Ham of course are coming off their 2-1 loss to Olympiacos in the Europa League earlier
01:25 this week and they both know new injury concerns from that game but Emerson Palmieri will not
01:30 be available for the weekend as he received five yellow cards last weekend and will be
01:34 suspended for the game at the London Stadium.
01:37 Of course Dyche also spoke about Abdoulaye Diouakoure and the rumoured new deal that
01:40 he is set to be offered.
01:41 He's been in brilliant form under the manager since he came in and of course he scored the
01:45 goal that kept Everton up from relegation last season and he has continued that form
01:49 into this year so far.
01:51 This weekend will pose a very tough test for Dyche and his side as West Ham have been in
01:55 pretty good form this season, especially at home where they've won three of their last
01:58 five games in all competitions.
02:00 Everton's last victory away at West Ham was in May 2021 when a sole Dominic Carver Lewin
02:05 goal gave them all three points on that occasion and Dyche will be hoping for some sort of
02:09 repeat result against what is a very tough West Ham side and any points they can get
02:13 from this weekend will be crucial and is viewed as a huge positive.
