The UK's largest indoor simulator golf venue is located in Greater Manchester.

Hukd Golf in Bury is a 12-bay virtual golf hub in Bury town centre, which brings golfers and non-golfers together for a social experience - or a chance to practice the sport whatever the weather.

The venue opened in October 2022 and offers a range of packages including food, drink and golf - and even the chance to secure the entire venue for up to 72 people.

The 12 bays can be booked for 3 or more, hired out individually for private coaching, or to use state-of-the-art technology to test club mapping and swing analysis.

We headed into Bury to check it out for ourselves and try something new.

00:00 Let's get everyone into golf. Let's make this accessible for everyone.
00:03 Let's make it a fun place for people to learn, to pick up a club for the first time
00:07 and just just give it a go.
00:08 Oh, yes.
00:16 The UK's largest indoor simulator golf venue is located in Greater Manchester.
00:22 Hooked Golf is a 12 bay virtual golf hub in Burytown Centre,
00:26 which brings golfers and non-golfers together for a social experience
00:30 or a chance to practice the sport, whatever the weather.
00:33 The venue opened in October 2022 and offers a range of packages,
00:38 including food, drink and golf,
00:40 and even the chance to secure the entire venue for up to 72 people.
00:44 The 12 bays can be booked for three or more or hired out individually for private coaching
00:50 or to use the state-of-the-art technology to test club mapping and swing analysis.
00:55 We headed into Bury to check it out for ourselves and to try something new.
00:59 Ten years ago, if you went on the scene, it was quite a gimmicky, quite a gimmicky.
01:02 It was seen as a stag doing out or whatnot.
01:05 But now the technology that's in here is trusted by the pros.
01:09 So automatically, as a golfer, you buy into the technology.
01:13 If Rory McIlroy is using it, if Ty Gowards is using it, you believe in the numbers.
01:17 So half term at the minute, there's lots and lots of kids and families that come in.
01:22 It's great to see because they play on the games, picking up the club for the first time.
01:25 You play putt bowling, putt darts.
01:28 But on the weekends, with the weather changing as it currently is,
01:32 loads of golfers come in and it's great to see.
01:34 You can play St Andrews, you can play all the famous courses.
01:38 Plus you can come in here and train, you can practice.
01:40 So it's an alternative to the driving range and an alternative to traditional golf.
01:44 It's currently 24 degrees inside here.
01:47 We stood on the traditional driving range.
01:49 Now it's eight degrees outside, raining, windy.
01:52 So you've got the natural factors of what's the wind doing to your ball?
01:56 Is the ball going to land on the turf or is it going to get stuck in the ground?
02:00 Here you can control the weather, you can control the altitude,
02:03 you can go super in-depth and geeky or you can just trust the technology and practice.
02:08 The simulator has multiple options for gameplay,
02:11 including bowling, darts and a pretty cool glass breaker game,
02:14 as well as a driving range function and a chance to play on a world famous course.
02:19 Okay.
02:20 Little light one first.
02:25 There we go.
02:30 The venue also offers a great selection of food and we got to try the Katsu Chicken Burger
02:38 while we took a break from all the golf.
02:40 It's just a safe place to play, to learn, to come together as golfers and non-golfers alike.
02:47 Stepping foot onto a traditional golf course,
02:50 you've got the fear of, "Am I going to hold people up? Am I going to get in people's way?
02:54 What happens if I'm not as good as my mate that I'm playing with?"
02:58 When you come into a facility like this, there isn't that barrier there.
