Five Nights At Freddy's Movie Official First Look & Shocking Streaming Release (FNAF MOVIE)
Transcript
00:00 Hello my Pizzeria peeps, we have some rather amazing updates and news concerning the Five Nights at Freddy's movie.
00:06 Oh, we have gotten some juicy tidbits thanks to Papa Blum himself.
00:11 Drop them W's for Papa Blum in the chat, please.
00:14 He graced us today with not only a release date for the Five Nights at Freddy's movie,
00:18 we got our first official look at the movie,
00:21 and another piece of news that does have me a little bit worried, we're gonna get into that.
00:25 But overall, it is still a time for celebration here, man.
00:28 They just finished filming about a couple of days ago, we should all be jumping up and down.
00:32 So I'll be breaking down all these details here for you guys, but I wanna hear from you Five Nights at Freddy's fans.
00:36 What do you think of this first look?
00:38 Any thoughts and theories you might have attached to it?
00:40 I've already seen some MatPat level of reaching, but that's what this community has been based off.
00:46 So don't let me stop you from reaching, as well as hitting that like button and subscribing if you haven't already.
00:50 It would mean a lot to me.
00:52 Alright, so yes, I was just finished watching my second viewing of the Super Mario movie,
00:56 'cause I did enjoy it that much to see it twice.
00:58 But as soon as I got into my car, boom, Jason Blum revealed an update, and I turned into Vin Diesel on them roads.
01:05 Last week, Papa Blum was teasing some big news, and he finally delivered by saying,
01:09 "As promised, FNAF fans, you asked and we delivered.
01:13 FNAF movie is coming this Halloween on October 27th, 2023.
01:19 205 days until the party."
01:21 And that is the big news.
01:23 And let me tell you, Papa Blum, it is big.
01:25 I am staring at it gloriously.
01:28 That's pretty big, man. Can we take all that news?
01:30 That's something a lot of us fans were wondering.
01:32 We know they had just filmed the movie at the beginning of this year,
01:35 and like they've done with the Halloween movies, if they can film it at the beginning of the year,
01:39 sometimes they can release it by the end of the year.
01:41 Still, we weren't 100% sure and had to be ready in case they wanted to release it next year.
01:46 But no, thank goodness they're not keeping us in suspense.
01:48 We're gonna be getting it here, so it's only gonna be like in two or three months.
01:51 We're gonna start getting posters, teaser trailers, full-on marketing left and right.
01:55 I saw how crazy they went with the Megan stuff.
01:58 I can't wait to see what they do for Freddy Fazbear.
01:59 Now, before I get to talking about the thing that had me worried,
02:02 let's still continue this nice, hype, fun train
02:05 and take a look at our first official look of the Five Nights at Freddy's movie.
02:08 Revealed on the official Instagram for Universal, they gave us a photo here.
02:13 We, as fans who've been obsessed with the Five Nights at Freddy's news,
02:15 actually got to see this photo being shot in real time.
02:18 If you remember way back where we saw a whole bunch of camera crew
02:21 with an actual animatronic in front of the pizzeria,
02:24 people were going crazy, being so mad at me that I made a video talking about that saying,
02:28 "Chris, you're spoiling the movie. You ruined it. I have no life now."
02:33 Well, that's literally the first thing Blumhouse decided to show you.
02:36 Now, go leave them a hate comment that'll make them cry at night.
02:39 Joking aside, though, I like it, man.
02:42 This is a nice, creepy little atmosphere.
02:44 Freddy Fazbear there standing next to a small child.
02:47 The withered-down sign that we have seen go through so much progress
02:51 as that building was being made in real time.
02:54 There's really a lot you could speculate from this photo.
02:56 For one, fans are wondering, "What the heck happened to Freddy Fazbear's ear?
02:59 It looks like he's missing one of them."
03:01 As far as I know, he's usually got two of them,
03:03 but it could just be the angle, or if not, hey, it's still a good look.
03:07 Also, 100% finally officially confirming it,
03:10 there will be no white gloves on these animatronics.
03:13 That's something we thought maybe would happen
03:16 because we literally have a sign right up there with white gloves on it.
03:19 I honestly would not have minded that.
03:21 It would have given a nice distinction to the movie versions of these animatronics,
03:24 but they don't have them here.
03:26 But the most obvious thing fans were speculating about
03:28 is who is that little kid standing next to Freddy Fazbear?
03:31 And while we were all theorizing on who it could possibly be,
03:34 YouTuber Daco was gracious enough to let us know exactly who it is,
03:39 naming the kid as Abby.
03:41 If you guys haven't heard, there was a select group of online influencers
03:44 who were personally picked by Scott Cawthon
03:47 to come onto the set of the Five Nights at Freddy's movie
03:50 to kind of film a little bit, experience the movie.
03:52 Let me tell you, I was insanely jealous,
03:54 but these are people that have been talking about Five Nights at Freddy's
03:57 and building up the brand for so many years,
03:59 they deserve it.
04:00 You can also check out their videos where they talk in details
04:02 about their experience on set and the little things they saw,
04:05 which is why I'm gonna trust and credit Daco here
04:08 for knowing exactly that that's Abby here.
04:09 Now, if you don't know, Abby is supposed to be Mike Schmidt's sister in the movie.
04:13 Mike Schmidt being played by Josh Hutcherson,
04:16 a lot of fans have been theorizing that Abby is a different version of Elizabeth Afton,
04:20 who in the video games is his sister, blonde hair, pink dress, ice cream kid.
04:24 But like we expected, the movie is gonna do some things differently,
04:27 all with Scott's permission,
04:28 and this kind of angle of it befriending Freddy Fazbear,
04:31 while at the same time, her brother is working the night shifts of this place,
04:35 seeing all the creepy stuff going around,
04:37 that's gonna be an interesting angle that the movie will be able to play onto.
04:39 Either way, really cool first shot here.
04:42 So, now let's talk about the one thing I was worried about.
04:45 And before I dive into this, I wanna say,
04:47 I'm looking forward to this movie, I'm excited.
04:49 You guys know me, I like to be as positive as possible,
04:52 but every now and then, I also gotta be honest,
04:54 and when I see something that I'm like,
04:56 that has me worried, I'm not gonna hide it from y'all.
04:59 So, the surprise announcement that came with all this information
05:02 was them deciding to release this movie in theaters and on Peacock the exact same day.
05:08 This is stuff I thought we had left behind in the pandemic era,
05:11 where, you know, people couldn't go to the theater,
05:13 but Blumhouse still seems to be on this train
05:16 and wanting to use it to boost up their Peacock subscribers.
05:20 And whenever I complain about something like this,
05:21 I'll get concerns from you guys going,
05:23 "Chris, why do you care if I can go to the theater or sit down at home where I feel safe and watch it there?
05:28 It's not your money!"
05:30 Oh, you're very right, but there are a couple of red flags that come up when a studio decides to do this.
05:35 Red flag number one, expect this budget to be low, okay?
05:39 We already knew Blumhouse likes to make their horror movies on the cheap.
05:43 That's fine, and it's actually the smart way to go about things.
05:46 That way, their movies can almost sometimes guarantee a profit,
05:49 even if they're crap.
05:50 People just want to see a horror movie,
05:52 so they'll make enough money to where they end up successful.
05:54 And heck, their Halloween trilogy did that so well.
05:57 They spent such little money and made boatloads of cash.
06:00 I don't think it'll end up looking like Banana Splits level of low budget,
06:04 but still, that's something to think about.
06:05 The second thing there, the quality of the movie, man.
06:08 I have said this time and time again,
06:10 streaming has become the new straight-to-DVD.
06:13 If a studio has a movie and they decide,
06:15 "Yeah, this is probably better for streaming instead of theatrical,"
06:18 that's them kind of saying,
06:20 "We don't think this thing is gonna make a lot of money."
06:22 And you also have to remember, in October, Blumhouse has another big movie plan to release.
06:27 That is the Exorcist reboot.
06:29 They are putting a lot of cheddar into hoping that becomes the next Halloween franchise and goes really big.
06:34 That's only like two weeks away,
06:36 and I'm gonna want you to notice the different marketing techniques
06:39 that Blumhouse is about to take with The Exorcist that they are hoping goes big,
06:43 and then the way they're gonna treat the Five Nights at Freddy's movie that is ending up on streaming.
06:47 There is also major concerns now for piracy.
06:50 If you release a movie in HD in its full glory straight to the Internet,
06:54 that movie will end up on every pirated website so much easier.
06:57 For my fans of like Scream 6, you saw on TikTok that same weekend that movie released,
07:02 there were thousands of edits of people taking shots and putting little music to them.
07:07 They'll have the HD movie to rip online,
07:09 so you gotta hope you see Five Nights at Freddy's the second it lands in theaters or on streaming,
07:15 or you'll be spoiled on the Internet with full-on HD clips.
07:18 Again, I'd love to be proven wrong, but they did this with Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends.
07:22 You know how the reception on those films kind of turned out.
07:25 If they truly made an outstanding movie that they fully believe people will buy repeated tickets for,
07:30 they would not toss it on stream in the same day.
07:32 And I guess it's also worth mentioning the same day the Five Nights at Freddy's movie's coming out
07:35 is also the same day they have scheduled for the new Saw movie.
07:38 Maybe a couple of years ago that would have been worrisome,
07:41 but Saw has been burying itself in the ground lately, and that's me talking as a fan.
07:45 I love Saw. I'mma be there day one for that new movie,
07:48 but the hype for Saw is not what it used to be.
07:51 So I don't really know if that's major competition, but still, that is competition.
07:55 Horror fans to a horror movie? There's gonna be some divide there.
07:57 Again, I would love to be proven wrong, and I'm still gonna hope this movie is awesome,
08:01 but I'm just being honest with you guys. Being in this movie space for a long time,
08:05 this is a red flag, so just tame expectations.
08:08 Other than that, though, it's gonna be kind of hard to diminish my excitement.
08:11 You still have Matthew Lillard there, Josh Hutcherson, physical animatronics.
08:15 I'm sure it'll still be a big winner for fans.
08:17 I'm also hoping because it goes to streaming and theaters now, maybe it is rated R.
08:21 With them putting it on streaming, it shows that they're confident enough
08:23 that they have a low enough budget that they think they'll still get enough sweaty nerds
08:27 that'll go see the Five Nights at Freddy's movie to churn a profit
08:30 while some will decide to stay at home and watch it there.
08:32 But we'll have to wait and see on that. This is what I throw off to you guys.
08:34 What do you think of this first look, the release date, and the red flags
08:38 with the movie being theater and streaming on the same day?
08:41 Anything interesting, be sure and like, subscribe, follow me on Twitter @3CFilms
08:44 or on TikTok @3CFilms, but as always, I'm Chris. Take care.
