00:00 My name is Jim A. Barker and I'll be your MC for this evening. Tonight we have appearances
00:22 by football legend Nathan Hindmarsh and his wife, renovation maven Bonnie Hindmarsh. We
00:28 have none other than the State Member for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall and we've
00:31 got the Mayor of Glen Innes himself, Mr Rob Van Anderen.
00:35 It is amazing to be here tonight and to see such a full room. As Pat said, this club has
00:41 been around a very long time. I doubt there has been ever a function that has been this
00:46 large probably since the clubhouse was originally opened. And it speaks volumes I think for
00:53 the strength of this community but also the amazing array of businesses that we have in
01:01 the Glen Innes district.
01:02 Thank you so much Jim. Thank you for your words Rob and Adam and also Pat. First of
01:09 all I would like to start by saying welcome to the 2023 White Rock Wind Farm Glen Innes
01:15 Business Awards presented by the Glen Innes Business Chamber. I would like to thank each
01:22 and every one of you for coming along tonight and being here to celebrate and bring back
01:27 what was once known as the social event of the week.

01:53 Because they're so passionate about it and they have a certain skill that is probably
01:58 better than anyone else's but there are people out there that are better than you.
02:02 Hire those people because they make all the difference. And have a husband that brings
02:08 you a cup of coffee.

02:15 Because they're so passionate about it and they have a certain skill that is probably
02:20 better than anyone else's but there are people out there that are better than you.
02:24 Hire those people because they make all the difference. And have a husband that brings
02:29 you a cup of coffee.

02:37 I didn't want to do it. I hated every minute of moving to Sydney and I spoke to two schools
02:44 today and they're only primary school kids but that was the biggest test for me in my
02:50 whole career of 15 years of playing footy. The games didn't matter. It was leaving home,
02:55 leaving friends, family and having to stick it out because I, look honestly I hated it.
03:02 I really did. I went home once. I think we had a Wednesday training session off so it
03:08 was midweek day off. Went home back to Robertson. Woke up Thursday morning having to come back
03:13 to Sydney to train. It wasn't far, it was like two hours away from Sydney so it's not
03:17 as if I'm going too far but it's still leaving that comfort of home and friends and family.
03:23 Woke up Thursday morning. I said mum I'm not back.
03:26 number.
