00:23 In a conversation with What's Trending, Smith says there are plenty more releases in the

00:28 In the past, Toddy Smith founded a fashion brand called Gothic Mocas, served as a primary
00:32 tour member of Scottie Styer's band, and even released a collection of books, poems,
00:37 and stories, becoming a bestseller on Amazon.
00:40 But now, Smith is letting fans in on his latest venture in music.
00:53 The latest single "Started as a Joke" showcases Smith not only in his creative elements, but
00:57 also as a musician.
00:59 In a conversation with What's Trending, Smith noted the song is not just only one of his
01:02 favorites he's recorded, but also has a special meaning as well.
01:05 "It's just a story of me trying to be a suitor towards Natalie, who Natalie is about,
01:13 and this song is about too.
01:14 It's about our little adventures of kind of hanging out and going out in 2019, around
01:19 the greater LA area.
01:22 And so yeah, that's what the song is about.
01:24 It's literally about her and I."
01:26 Smith already mentioned he's looking to put out even more music in the future, and
01:29 will most likely be putting out even more singles before the end of the year.
01:33 Tati also admits that he has much support from his other friends, including Jason Nash
01:36 and Scottie Styer, on his creative projects.
01:39 However, in regards to the changing social media landscape, Smith admits that he feels
01:43 aged out from some components of being online.
01:45 "It's fun, also stressful, and I feel like I'm kind of like aged out of that social
01:51 media thing.
01:52 I just like to do my own thing.
01:54 It's hard to keep up with the trends.
01:56 I'm not on TikTok all the time or even YouTube, and so I'm really trying to transition.
02:02 I mean, digital will always be a part of me, but I'm really trying to transition into
02:07 hopefully producing or acting in more of a traditional sense."
02:11 Aside from the new music, earlier in 2023, Smith made a parody of the thriller movie
02:16 Talk to Me from A24 that was intended to be a joke but really resonated with audiences.
02:21 As far as others who saw the clip, Tati mentions the directors even got a glimpse as well,
02:25 calling it a "full circle moment."
02:27 "So that was really kind of a full circle moment for me because I watched them in 2014
02:33 when they were putting out their Ronald McDonald videos, like their crazy videos.
02:37 And then actually in 2019, they reached out to film a video and then we never got around
02:42 to that.
02:43 And then I saw they put out Talk to Me, and then so everything's just very kind of full
02:47 circle, which is pretty cool."
