00:00 Welcome to Miami, Hot Wheels, this is your home, this is the best state you're gonna be in
00:06 and there's no other way around the world you can drive anything like you stole it.
00:10 What's up everybody, it's Richard Roggs from Gas Monkey Garage, but today I am in Miami
00:25 and it is rockin'. We are kicking off the Hot Wheels Legends Tour.
00:28 We've got 18 stops this year and this is stop number one.
00:31 We've got cars lined up for miles out there trying to get into the Walmart parking lot.
00:36 We're gonna have hundreds of cars here today and it is gonna be a wicked deal.
00:40 At each of the 18 stops, we're gonna be picking one car to go to the finals at SEMA in Las Vegas
00:46 and one of those cars at SEMA in Las Vegas is gonna be made into an actual Hot Wheel.
00:51 It's about creativity, authenticity and garage spirit.
00:54 So get in your garage, build something and get it out here.

01:17 Alright guys, 300 cars, some pretty wild ones.
01:22 Hey, look it, Miami brought it, right?
01:25 Oh yeah, they did. There's a lot of cool stuff out there.
01:28 [Music]
01:44 We all saw the '52 Chevy with the cab over and the '31 Ford Rat Rod on the back.
01:49 He's like, "Hey, my son's a Hot Wheels player."
01:51 I mean, this kid is a collector. He's got over a thousand at home.
01:54 Nicholas' grandfather got him into building.
01:57 They've built like 20 cars themselves and now they're handing it down all the way to Nicholas
02:01 who kind of helped with that build as well.
02:04 I like what I'm calling the "Steampunk Willis."
02:07 This is intricate detail. This is copper. This is shiny.
02:11 This is knobs and valves and making things that shouldn't work that way, making them work that way.
02:15 The interesting thing that stuck out to me too is the motorcycle tires on that.
02:20 It was like dually, dually. It's just got a killer look.
02:23 [Music]
02:27 I like cars that were built in period and I love the Ford Dragster.
02:32 That car was painted 25 years ago and it looks brand new.
02:37 [Music]
02:43 I'm 100% stuck in the middle, so I'll leave it up to you guys.
02:46 Will we be able to do two cars?
02:47 We have to choose one. Let's lock it down.
02:50 We're going to have to be primetime in just a few minutes.
02:53 I'm with you on that.
02:55 [Music]
02:59 Richard, can you tell us who's going to Vegas?
03:03 I was on this from the second it pulled in.
03:05 The level of detail is just absolutely amazing.
03:08 This jacket in the trip to Vegas along with the vehicle is Jose with the Willis.
03:16 Jose! You're going to Vegas!
03:21 The whole idea was to create something different.
03:23 Everybody knows a Rot Rodder. We took it to the next level.
03:26 One of the things that we came up with was to get the seats.
03:30 You're talking about a tractor seat that at the end of the day, like a farmer rides in it.
03:33 And then it's got like Chevy upper control arms has backrests.
03:36 If you go inside, you got all kinds of details in there from military foam to military mask.
03:41 It's based on motorcycle wheels.
03:44 26 is on the front, 30 is on the rear.
03:46 That was Frank's idea. Believe it or not, he worked probably 48 hours nonstop.
03:51 We wanted something that looked extremely rugged.
03:53 People are looking at it and it's like, yeah, it's an old Willis, it's a Rot Rod, but it's got a lot of like modern stuff added to it.
03:59 Once we rolled into it, like all the detail and all that, it just, the whole combination came together.
04:04 Went bananas, you know?
04:05 The point of it is to enjoy it. Have a good time about it.
04:08 You don't have to worry about scratching the paint or getting inside wet.
04:11 There's a lot of people that pick up their phones, they say hi.
04:14 They get pretty excited when they see it on the road.
04:16 No matter where we go, I mean, it builds a crowd on it like so quick.
04:20 Actually, the first thing that comes out of their mouth is Hot Wheels.
