00:00 I think it's worth touching on what O'Reilly was saying as he mentioned in the media afterwards
00:08 about trying to build on this now, that really killer instinct in front of goal, something
00:14 maybe Celtic have lacked in, particularly in Europe over the last few seasons, not creating
00:20 plenty of chances but not being clinical enough. And he was talking about how he feels like
00:27 the team now have a platform to build on going into this doubleheader against Atletico Madrid.
00:33 How important do you feel it is? It's clear that Celtic have a squad that is more than
00:39 capable of competing in this Champions League group. In terms of the mindset going into
00:45 this Atletico Madrid game now, you've got to think that they'll be going into it high
00:49 on confidence.
00:50 It's not an all or bust game but it almost is when you look at the disappointment of
00:58 the two games over in Fiannaard, going down to nine men, the sucker punch at the end against
01:02 Lazio. Probably by the end of these games we'll know what lies ahead for Celtic in Europe,
01:10 whether there's going to be European football or potentially European football after Christmas
01:14 or if that's it for another season. Again, Brendan Rodgers I think touched on it after
01:19 the game saying Celtic know that they're not one of the best teams in Europe but they want
01:23 to be able to compete against the best teams in Europe. At times they put Lazio under pressure
01:29 in the game at Celtic Park. Atletico's not been in the best of form in the Champions
01:34 League as of yet. Again, other teams seem to just take them a wee bit of time to get
01:40 up and running but they again head into this, Griezmann heads into it, I think he's only
01:44 a few goals off becoming their all-time record goalscorer. It's going to be an interesting
01:49 one because again, we know what type of side Atletico Madrid are. They like to, you know,
01:56 Simeone likes to package defence and whatever else and have teams on the counter. It's going
02:00 to be an interesting one but with 60,000 people behind them, you just don't know what can
02:05 happen at Celtic Park on Wednesday evening. But again, it's a great result to go into
02:09 the game with. It's going to be another tough test to go to Easter Road. Then they've got
02:14 a home game against St Mern, up and down the wall, then the return league against Atletico
02:19 Madrid. So even though we can look at those two games within that two-week spare, there's
02:23 a lot of tough, tough games in between that that's going to be difficult. But again, just
02:28 a wee bit of credit to Celtic in that they've went to Petaudry, Tyne Castle, Livingston
02:33 and got the results. And at Highbrook, obviously, the course and at Derby. So, you know, really
02:39 tough places to go. Easter Road's going to be another one of those. But I think it's
02:42 the first time since Rogers' first spare that Celtic have won their first five games in
02:46 the road. So, or won five games in the road. So, yeah, complete credit to them for that.
02:54 Yeah, I think it's probably worth mentioning Rogers' statement post-match that he feels
02:59 that certain players are really now starting to find their feet under him. Now he's finally
03:04 been able to get his points across on the training field. It seemed to me as well that
03:08 the impact of the substitutions he had, you've just touched on the kind of crucial run of
03:12 games they've got coming up. It is a busy period and having that squad depth there,
03:17 you know, he was able to rely on Iwata yesterday for the first time, kind of, you know, a terrific
03:25 appearance from him in that second half. You've got the likes of O, James Forrest has looked
03:29 relatively sharp as well. How important do you feel that is going into such a kind of
03:36 pivotal run of games?
03:38 Obviously you don't want injuries. The one player Celtic certainly don't want injuries
03:42 is Kyogo who hit his 60th goal yesterday. I don't think a lot of Celtic fans are convinced
03:47 that if you threw O in there, he would do the same job as Kyogo. Just, you know, completely
03:54 different type of players, obviously age profile, whatever else. But when you get to that 60
03:59 minute mark, I think you always want to be looking towards the next game, especially
04:02 if you're in a comfortable position. I mean, you've got such a difficult run of games,
04:07 you know, I've touched on some of them there. You want to be able to use the squad. You
04:10 know, it's not going to be about 11 players, it's going to be about a squad. When you've
04:13 got five subs as well, you may as well use them and get those players on to the park.
04:19 So, yeah, very important. And as you say, there's a couple of players that are coming
04:25 off the bench and really making an impact. Maybe they're not saying, "Yeah, OK Gaffer,
04:29 I'm here but pick me." But, you know, guys like Yang and O and Timoki Awataz, you touched
04:34 on there, certainly did theirself no harm yesterday. I don't think they'll be starting
04:38 against Atletico Madrid. But again, with games like St Mermain and Ross County, it's important
04:45 that we get some minutes in those games.
