00:00 She's pure magic. There's nothing she can't do.
00:04 LaRishka Hargitay praising Taylor Swift and opening up about taking her 12-year-old daughter Amaya to see the pop star's era tour.
00:12 You know, it's been so beautiful to reconnect to that innocence.
00:18 You know, I think Taylor gives such a beautiful message to kids and unlocks these girls' emotions.
00:25 And they see this powerful, incredible, loving but tender woman.
00:30 And it's been so beautiful in how she has so gracefully walked through her journey and allowed herself to evolve and truly step into her power pose, her talent and all of her glory.
00:47 And she's got quite a bit of it, but also invited all the women and men of the world to join her.
00:54 And I think she is a magic maker.
00:56 Her music, I see how it affects my daughter and how she cries and just opens up like a flower and how meaningful it is.
01:03 And I'm grateful to be part of it and watch that journey.
01:06 The actress makes the comments Thursday night at the WMC Women's Media Awards, where she's being honored with the Sisterhood is Powerful Award.
01:15 It's been quite a day, actually, to prepare for something like this, to actually take it in.
01:23 Right, because we can dismiss things in life.
01:28 I know I can. But to be honored by people that have been my mentors, that I've my influencers,
01:39 the people that have influenced me so much and been North Stars to me and.
01:50 Have influenced me in such a deep way to be honored by them, to be applauded by women who I applaud daily is quite profound and something that I'm going to need a minute to process.
02:00 One of those influencers include WMC co-founder Gloria Steinem.
02:06 Gloria has influenced me by her strength and power and her vulnerability with me and her honoring nature, honoring of women, honoring of me.
02:17 That took a minute and took me by surprise, you know, because we.
02:26 She's done so much for women and it's it's a lot.
02:29 And then you become friends with somebody and somebody like that takes a minute to process it.
02:37 It just does. She's such a remarkable person and what she's done and how she's affected me, but also personally, how she's supported me and supported me as an artist and pushed me to do things as a human and as an artist that maybe I wouldn't have had the courage to do.
02:54 So I'm grateful for people that push me into areas where I'm uncomfortable and just make me better.
03:01 As for if Mariska thinks there's been enough change for women in media so far, not enough.
03:08 I think that we have obviously made progress from 100 years ago, 50 years ago, five years ago.
03:18 And we've also gone one step forward, 20 steps back. And it's frightening.
03:25 And yet I feel so hopeful because of my sisterhood, because of the bad asses that I have learned from, from fierce women who will not give up.
03:43 And I'd like to join them. And I just I honor the people that will come after me.
03:53 And I am so grateful for all of the people who have come before me and will keep going.
03:59 And tonight is a powerful, bad ass night.
