00:00 I'm here at the Old Melbourne Jail and I'm going ghost hunting.
00:03 From 1845 until it closed in 1924, the Old Melbourne Jail has held some of the country's
00:11 most dangerous criminals. 133 people were hanged in the jail including
00:16 Australia's most infamous bushranger, Ned Kelly.
00:19 So a lot of the gnarly weapons, the cat-o-nine tails, used to lash prisoners in the back again
00:28 and again. Apparently it took a good lasher, 10 lashes to get through the skin and through the
00:34 muscle and hit ribs. And then they'd take them to the hospital until the wounds would
00:41 solve, until they were ready to take the rest of their punishment.
00:44 The former jail is now living a new life as a museum on Russell Street in Melbourne, Victoria.
00:53 We're going into what is meant to be the most haunted room here. It's meant to
00:59 welcome you, you know, to the bushman house.
01:04 It feels pretty normal to me. Yeah, what about you? Do you feel pushed out?
01:12 Not really.
01:21 Some common signs of ghosts is a sudden drop in temperature.
01:26 But it actually feels pretty toasty in here to be honest with you. Some rooms that we've been
01:32 into have been colder than others and some have been quite warm. So that could be a ghost.
01:45 The other maybe key giveaway of this ghost is technological legends. But
01:52 all my technology's been working fine.
