00:00 well I guess now Charles Xavier saved himself quite a lot of newspaper
00:04 subscription fees here's a look at the new Hasbro Marvel Legends x-men 97
00:08 Marvel's Bishop
00:28 bring the excitement and wonder of the Marvel Universe to your collection with
00:33 the Hasbro Marvel Legends Marvel Bishop and other x-men action figures this
00:37 collectible six-inch scale action figures detailed to look like Marvel's
00:40 Bishop from Marvel Studios x-men 97 Marvel's Bishop Marvel Legends design
00:45 and poseable head arms and legs the Marvel action figure comes with three
00:48 accessories Hasbro's Marvel action figures six-inch scale make them great
00:52 for posing and displaying in fans collections now the first thing we'll do
00:56 before we look at this man from the future is we're gonna grab the tape
00:59 measure and then we're gonna measure off Bishop in that order and then of
01:02 course right after that shortly following I'll bring in the other x-men
01:05 figures that we've looked at thus far and you can see the differences in
01:08 scales certainly when it comes to though Bishop he stands at about six almost six
01:13 and three-quarters of an inch in height or the figures gonna be 17 centimeters
01:17 tall finally saying now that we've completed this wave having already looked
01:21 at these figures in this particular order first we looked at Wolverine and
01:24 Wolverine just happens to also be as well the smallest figure so you can even
01:28 see how much bigger Bishop is compared to him we also then moved on over to
01:32 Gambit Gambit is equally sized in fact I shall just put Gambit on this side so
01:36 you guys can see like with his hair on top of his cow he's about I would say
01:41 he's about the same height if anything to Bishop then from there we actually
01:44 then moved on to I think it was Magneto or may have been rogue I think actually
01:48 in fact it was rogue so let's try to stick in that order rogue again was a
01:52 good-looking figure I got her actually on attached onto a display stand just
01:55 because I already know the hardships of trying to get her to stand on her own
01:58 then we moved on to Magneto and it becomes even more apparent just how
02:01 short Magneto stands when you've got him compared against the big and the bulk of
02:05 Bishop and then we wrapped up our last several reviews with the second figure
02:09 just to this one and here's also what the figure looks along like with storm
02:14 now unlike the last what three figures that we've looked at that have only been
02:18 relegated to only swapped out hands Bishop at least can say he comes in clue
02:22 with this futuristic shotgun we'll look at that first I was actually surprised
02:26 to see how very rubbery this is it actually is about the rubberiness of
02:30 taffy or licorice it's pretty soft but it's still nicely detailed cast all nice
02:35 and a very dark gunmetal gray it could be held in his hand though only this
02:39 hand for right now or can also be holstered on the back of the figures body
02:43 you can just take the shotgun provided and slide it all the way down filling in
02:48 the bottom section filling that of course that opening on the bottom of it
02:51 and it holds and houses it rather nicely it in fact even survives the blizzard
02:55 test so you can tip it upside down and shotgun it doesn't look like it's going
02:58 to be going anywhere it will be going somewhere in a second though the figure
03:01 also as well comes include some swappable hands I have me sort of more
03:05 puzzled as to why he came with this hand when he already has technically a
03:08 gripping hand on the other side I think there's one other reasoning for that but
03:11 if you did like the look of actually having the gun on this side then the
03:14 figure comes with specifically a dedicated trigger firing finger hand and
03:19 of course he has the mirror flip of that on the other side even though the figure
03:22 technically already has one of those on the other side of the figures other side
03:25 of the figures body I think the real reason why they give him an alternate
03:28 head hand like this is if you look at it it isn't quite the same hand as the
03:32 triggering firing hand I think it's actually to hold the undercarriage of
03:35 the shotgun so for example running with that idea we're gonna go ahead and just
03:39 remove carefully oops and the one thing I wasn't wanting to do I just ultimately
03:43 did you got to worry about these little glove pieces they're actually not
03:46 attached to the glove necessarily but they're still attached to the forearm
03:50 this is one of those cases like row where I feel like it didn't need to be
03:53 rogues make more sense because of course Rowe's gonna have a bare hand but with
03:58 all of the bishops cases of hands all of them are gonna be gloved anyways why
04:02 would they not have just glued this because ultimately when in a happening
04:05 was the one thing I didn't think was gonna happen it's now dropped to the
04:08 floor I think I can see it I'm gonna leave it right there I'm gonna leave it
04:12 there for a second I hope it's still there by the time we come back to final
04:16 looks but if you did they'll want to swap out the hands just plug this back
04:19 in place then you can take yourself then the shotgun and again like the shotgun
04:23 fits fairly well in the hands you'll be happy to know at least that the plastic
04:26 that they use for the hands is pretty malleable it's pretty soft then we're
04:30 gonna go ahead and just bend the elbow and then you can then take the other
04:32 hand which again made no sense initially but I think it's more so just to hold
04:36 the undercarriage of the gun because you can see like it holds it really quite
04:39 well if though you want to just do you can easily then swap it out although
04:43 really unfortunately in this case like this you can only see that he has the
04:46 one punching hand or the closed fist hand to do on this side the figures body
04:50 so he always really is gonna have or either a relaxed hand or kind of I guess
04:54 a gestured hand on the one side and then he's gonna have then the dedicated
04:58 trigger firing hands all on both this side and this side you can also see as
05:02 well disappointing the fact I just dropped that glove piece I can still see
05:06 it I can still see it can I reach it I can't reach it I'll have to come back to
05:10 it you can see like the figure does also have a double hinge on his elbow that's
05:13 certainly good to see when you got a figure that's actually sporting fire
05:16 power you'd like to think he can actually get that pretty cool pose down
05:19 where not only can you actually have it resting or parallel to his body but you
05:23 can actually have it getting choked up here you can actually have it resting
05:27 against more so his shoulder as well speaking of shoulders there's actually
05:31 one thing I did want to talk also about it is the way that they've actually got
05:34 the holster on the back of the figures body let's just go for right now at
05:37 least remove the shotgun we're gonna come back to that more in a moment the
05:40 way that they've actually attached the holster initially I would have thought
05:43 it was just slid up the sleeve but they've actually done one other thing to
05:46 it if you lift up the arm for example you can see what they've done is they've
05:50 basically pegged in place on the side of the shoulder you can see like there's
05:54 the peg little but it's like a square shaped piece of plastic and it basically
05:59 fits then into the hole that's on the forum so on the the torso so I guess for
06:03 all intents and purposes if you wanted to you could remove it although it
06:06 wouldn't necessarily look as symmetrical as this side this side is actually a
06:09 plastic piece also as well and I would imagine attaches yeah it looks like it
06:14 attaches the exact same way as well so there's really a functional means if you
06:17 wanted to remove these I guess you probably could just detach them from the
06:21 provided pegs the only problem is though the only number of times you can do that
06:24 before peg peg starts this stretch he never gonna get back in place one thing
06:28 that's also with his scarf the same sort of idea it's basically molded plastic
06:33 that goes over top of the figures body again if you wanted to you could really
06:36 remove the head and you could remove this scarf but I think the scarf is sort
06:39 of one of those things that go hand in hand with Bishop when I think of Bishop
06:42 I think of a blue and yellow costume character with the red scarf there on
06:46 the front and again it does look really quite good the only thing also by using
06:49 this in molded plastic is that the yellow doesn't quite 100% jive with some
06:53 of the paintwork that they've done notably you can see that it's a lot
06:56 darker here on the stripe that he has on the front of his torso notably as well
06:59 you can probably also notice as well like the yellow striping down the side
07:02 of his leg is also very visibly painted rather than the plastic that they've
07:06 used for the belt and the plastic that they've used for the shoulder pads it's
07:10 pretty close but you can clearly see like it's not as very vibrantly
07:13 printed bright as yellow as save like the belt for example and he already
07:18 mentioned shoulder pads I do like the little touch of having the little X-Men
07:21 logo there also featured on the front of the figures body but he's a big stocky
07:24 fellow I mean certainly when you're looking at the size and there's a lot of
07:27 mass happening here what was rather interesting though also notice about
07:30 Bishop I guess just before I talk about that you don't want to go show you guys
07:34 show you guys the head sculpt of this guy head sculpt is actually pretty good
07:37 it sort of bears more of a animation design to it but I guess that kind of
07:41 goes hand in hand with all the other X-Men figures that we've looked at so
07:44 far they kind of have more of a cartoon look to them than more of a realistic
07:47 approach and I've seen some people online pop the existing head for Bishop
07:51 and swap it out with another Bishop head because I think like a body if you want
07:54 more of a classic look to Bishop this one actually does the job rather nicely
07:57 going back though to the point I actually just one last thing I know I
08:01 don't want to rush through the head sculpt the head sculpt for again what it
08:03 is you got the little M there printed on side of his face that looks good it looks
08:06 sharp it looks clean no real issues when it comes to the paints soak it all in
08:12 soak it all in okay the one thing I did also want to talk about strangely for
08:15 Bishop is if you look at his arms just actually bringing up his arms he's got
08:19 these sort of cut in areas to the plastic now I don't know if this is a
08:22 telltale indicator that there's been some retooling happening here but you
08:26 can kind of see maybe it's also the way it came off the press there's a very
08:29 obvious outline right here and right around the bottom and he seems to also
08:33 have something very similar on this side it could also just be the way it came
08:36 out of the printing press but there's some very obvious lines printed left
08:40 behind I guess from the mold casting on the torso of Bishop doesn't seem to be
08:43 the case anywhere else the other thing I did also want to mention too is that
08:47 looking at the tops of his thighs small little only minor points if anything the
08:52 tops of his thighs don't seem to be quite the same color that he has in his
08:56 mid thigh you can see it's a little bit lighter and it doesn't seem to be as
08:59 shiny of a plastic now they may have mixed the plastics and change them
09:02 throughout the process of actually molding the figure but ultimately though
09:05 it does seem like the top half of it doesn't seem again as smooth as he has
09:10 for the thigh area and it definitely doesn't seem as bright either as for the
09:13 figures articulation starting first with his head sculpt it does rotate all the
09:17 way around it does have it where you can hinge it up and you can hinge it down of
09:20 course you can have it hinging that far down forward if you want but you can
09:23 also rock it back and forth as well shoulders do move all the way around now
09:27 the only thing I worry about when it comes to rotating the arms is the fact
09:30 that you now pulling against those pegs even though you are able to still rotate
09:35 it all the way around you can kind of see the way it disrupts the plastic and
09:38 again the number of times doing this I wonder if that's gonna eventually start
09:41 to rip or damage the peg that's attaching it to his torso so just tread
09:45 cautiously there his arms do still manage to hinge out at 90 degrees so
09:49 they're not hindered at all by the shoulder pads the figure does have a
09:52 swivel and the swivel is actually above the sleeve I actually would have
09:55 expected it be right there but it's just above this the stripe in the yellow
09:59 stripe of the sleeve you can rotate the bicep all the way around figure has a
10:02 double hinge on the elbow nice to see that the hands do rotate all the way
10:05 around minus of course the glove part I'm gonna have to go and retrieve that
10:08 that also they don't hinge all the way well they don't hinge back and forth
10:12 necessarily they only just rotate all the way around I mean if you were also
10:15 to look at the hands individually I'm just want to put this down here for a
10:18 second and show you guys the individual hand there is technically a hinge ability
10:21 there as well so you can rock them back and forth just in case like anyone was
10:25 wondering it's just not a case of rotating them all the way around upper
10:27 torso is on a crunch so of course that moves back this far it moves forward
10:32 this far and just underneath that there's also a swivel but again the
10:36 swivel was in a place I wasn't expecting I thought it would swivel right here an
10:39 actual fact it swivels underneath the belt legs once again split out all the
10:44 same with all the other X-Men figures we've already had a look at there on
10:47 ball joints after all once again you take those legs and move them forward
10:50 you can move them back but only so far of course because his bishop behind so
10:54 you're gonna prevent a little bit of movement from the legs three chords of
10:57 the way up the thigh once again you got your swivel cut so that rotates all the
10:59 way around the figure does have a double hinge on the knee it's a little tighter
11:02 on my figure has also swivel here in the top of his boots and he also has the
11:07 hinge in his ankle both back and forth this way and back and forth this way I
11:11 like Bishop I would probably put Bishop I would say I want to still say right
11:16 after maybe storm so in my particular order of least of liking these figures
11:21 I'd go gambit number one I'd bring then in main Wolverine number two I definitely
11:26 wouldn't be bringing Magneto Wolverine I would say then number two then I would
11:30 probably say storm then I would go Bishop then I would go rogue and of
11:36 course as expected I would put Magneto distant last Magneto had potential but
11:42 he needed to be bigger he also had what I still to be thinking one of the worst
11:46 head sculpts we've gotten from a Magneto in the recent years but that's what
11:49 we've gotten so far from this line from the 97 I mean certainly I am very open
11:54 to the idea that Hasbro is gonna be doing more of these X-Men 97 characters
11:57 because what I've liked so far in this line I hope to still like when they
12:01 release future figures Bishop though is a nice-looking figure I like the way
12:04 that this one did turn out I am a little worried again about the way that the
12:08 shoulder pads attached onto his body just again because you can't really
12:11 swivel the arms all the way around you can but you can't you can but I would
12:15 still worry about whether that's gonna start the damage or pull the plastic on
12:18 that peg eventually ripping it in the process luckily for me my future self
12:23 just came through a portal and told me exactly where bishops whereabouts were
12:27 for the top of his gloved hand and now we've replaced it and put it back in
12:30 place where it belongs it does though remind me of one thing why if a case
12:35 like this for Bishop that he's gonna have gloved hands anyways I wouldn't
12:38 they have just taken that part to the gloved hand and glued it onto his
12:41 forearm permanently because that's one thing if you forget that it's there or
12:45 you forget at least that it's something that's gonna easily fall off and you
12:48 just go quickly at it to change the hand before you know it the same thing that
12:53 happened to me is the same thing that's gonna happen to you as well at least the
12:56 holster on the back of the figures body is gonna be a little bit more secure but
13:00 again ill-advised to probably keep rotating the arm all the way around
13:03 because I think it's gonna start to pull and start to tug and eventually start to
13:06 break that peg that's attaching it to the rest of the figures body the coloring
13:11 of the yellow is pretty good it's pretty close there are a fair obvious areas
13:14 where you can see like hey that part on the figures body is molded yellow hey
13:18 that part in the figures body is painted yellow the yellows don't 100% jive but
13:22 at least the figure to its credit is painted well that black line that divides
13:26 the yellow on the front of his chest that then runs down the side of his leg
13:29 is also very well painted so I don't really have necessarily issues with this
13:33 paint I certainly don't have any issues with his head sculpt either I think all
13:36 in all it's a good-looking bishop I have seen though again as I mentioned this
13:40 review some people have swapped out the head for an earlier released bishop
13:44 because again I can certainly understand why they would have wanted to use this
13:47 body but this body is one of the best bishops I haven't really collected a lot
13:50 of bishops granted for me to be saying that but it's definitely a good classic
13:53 look to Bishop and I can certainly understand why people would have wanted
13:56 to use this body with other head sculpts if you don't like necessarily the
13:59 shorter spikier hair to Bishop and want to use a longer hair seems to be the
14:03 case that you probably could use them because they are using the same
14:05 universally sized ball joints at least the case for the bishop here the figure
14:09 as a whole again top to bottom good-looking figure but his big and bulk
14:13 size only again reminds me of how much smaller in stature the master of
14:17 magnetism this guy's the big baddie of the X-Men storylines and how small and
14:22 even more reminded am I that Magneto came up just a little bit short not to
14:26 the short standards of Wolverine sorry Wolverine but he certainly was a shorter
14:29 figure than he really needed to be what was your favorite figures from this line
14:33 now that we can finally say we've wrapped up things for the X-Men 97 line
14:37 what would you say is your favorite if you can put in the order down below in
14:40 the comment section what was your number one your number two and so on and so far
14:43 also as well if you guys enjoyed this video I want to hit with like if you
14:46 guys are loving the content you guys are seeing and you'd certainly like to stick
14:49 around for more sad news though to report is obviously we've already wrapped
14:53 up now things for the X-Men 97 but it's not to say that we won't be looking at
14:57 more Marvel Legends reviews in the upcoming videos oh a premonition from
15:01 the future probably a promise from the future it's definitely gonna be a lot
15:05 more coming away guys was always thanks for watching see you guys next time
