00:00 Some screams coming your way courtesy of the citizens of Springfield.
00:04 Here's your spooky spot in the Super 7 Treehouse of Horror reaction figures.
00:10 [Music]
00:29 [Rattling]
00:58 Super 7's retro reaction line welcomes the Simpsons Treehouse of Horror characters.
01:03 They feature five points of articulation and packed with retro blister card packaging.
01:08 Just before we cut to this year's couch gag, let's go ahead and grab the tape measure and see how tall the Super 7 Simpsons reaction figures are from the Treehouse of Horror.
01:18 Each one of them are obviously going to be of different sizes.
01:20 It seems like Homer and I would imagine like Homer and Kang are about the same size with Marge really being the tallest.
01:26 So what I'll do is I'll measure Homer first.
01:28 The figure's going to stand about three and three quarters of an inch in height or it's going to be about nine centimeters tall.
01:33 Bart being the smallest figure though, he's only going to be about two and three quarters of an inch in height or about six centimeters tall.
01:40 And then Marge being the tallest of the batch, she's four and a half inches in height or she's going to be about eleven and a half centimeters tall.
01:48 And I have a couple of other reaction figures of the horror variety.
01:51 So we'll bring in the weirdest line of reaction figures also from Super 7. So here's what Homer looks like with Trash Squatch.
01:57 Here's what Kang looks like, say for example, with Blood.
02:00 And here's what Marge looks like along with Gory Ur.
02:04 I love the names that Super 7 come up with.
02:07 Just before we actually talk a little bit about the accessories that come included with the figures, one thing I did want to say though,
02:12 and it involves me bringing in the original packaging, was the fact I wish there was a way that they could have made this consumer friendly in the way that you'd be able to open up the packaging,
02:20 take your figure out and then be able to put it back in the clamshell.
02:23 Normally, though, I would have just cut this carefully and very, very carefully removed the figure from inside the packaging.
02:29 But my whole plan was really to have these on display on my shelf, especially during Halloween.
02:33 So I didn't really mind the idea of damaging the packaging.
02:35 But the packaging really is so good.
02:37 You'd really like to have it where you'd be able again, take the figure out, put it back in.
02:41 Something I would like to see them maybe do with future Treehouse of Horror reaction figures.
02:45 Each one of them come with included accessories.
02:48 Although really looking at it, it only seems to be the case that Homer and Kang have accessories.
02:52 Bart is actually wearing his accessory and Marge's accessories actually inside her rib cage.
02:58 More on that in a moment.
02:59 First of all, let's have a look at Homer.
03:01 Homer comes included, first of all, with his little deed or warrant to kill Marge Simpson.
03:07 You can see it says to die Marge Simpson.
03:09 This does fit into his hand.
03:10 I find it actually is better to fit it into a skeleton hand and then use his other free hand to hold the scythe.
03:16 But you can take the little scroll here and you just take Homer Simpson's skeletal hand.
03:20 And that fits really nicely in between his thumb and his fingers.
03:23 The other accessory to come included with Grim Reaper Homer is that the figure comes included with a really interesting looking scythe.
03:29 Not sharp to the touch where I'm going to be drawing any bit blood.
03:31 But it certainly looks like it inflicts some serious damage.
03:34 It's all been cast, I'm guessing here in brown plastic, painting only the end of the blade in silver.
03:39 And the additional handles here as well are also in silver.
03:42 And of course you can also take that as well and clip it into Homer's hand.
03:45 Now at the time of doing this review we already know we are going to be getting Ultimate Simpsons figures of also the Treehouse variety.
03:51 Maybe what they're planning to do as well as more of the obscure characters like we're getting essentially with this line.
03:56 They're probably going to be keeping those more relegated to the Reaction line of figures with more of the scaled back five points of articulation.
04:03 The larger scale figures for example like Flanders as the Devil, one I'm really looking forward to getting,
04:08 is all those ones are going to be of the more larger scale with tons of more possibility afforded to them.
04:14 Now as it goes with also Homer, I guess seeing as we've already looked at the accessories that come with him,
04:18 let's go ahead and remove the scroll for right now.
04:20 We're going to go ahead and remove the scythe and getting a closer look at the figure.
04:23 Now he is wearing his cloak like he would have had in the episode.
04:26 The sculpting on the figure again is top notch.
04:29 Rivals of course I would say the Ultimate figure of Homer Simpson,
04:32 although the Homer Simpson we got in the larger Ultimates line would have been Space Homer.
04:36 So this one a little bit of a departure from that.
04:38 I like where they sculpted the hood.
04:40 The hood seems to actually be of a softer plastic.
04:43 Of course he's got the face inside of it.
04:44 It doesn't look like he can remove the hood.
04:46 Even though it does look like it's technically a separate piece,
04:49 I would imagine it'd be quite unfinished if you looked at underneath the hood.
04:52 Now of course he does also have the long cloak.
04:54 The cloak underneath still is able to see.
04:56 I don't know if you guys can actually see that or not.
04:58 He still has parts of his pants still visible.
05:01 And the figure does also have pegs on the underside of his feet.
05:04 There's staction in the sense that they only really have five points of articulation.
05:08 So Homer for example only does just rotate back and forth on the head.
05:11 This by the way is again all very rubbery plastic.
05:14 So as you are rotating you can kind of see the way it lifts itself around the shoulder area.
05:18 Homer has articulation here in the arms.
05:20 He doesn't have it actually in the hands.
05:22 So again he still retains that five points of articulation.
05:25 And he does also have it in his legs.
05:27 But because again like he's encased in plastic,
05:29 there really isn't much that you can really do with his legs.
05:31 And again pegs on the underside of his feet.
05:33 I like the look of Grim Reaper Homer.
05:35 Let's jump on over now to Marge.
05:37 Marge funny enough though,
05:38 and I did want to get this set online originally.
05:40 I went over to Entertainment Earth.
05:42 Ironically enough they had Homer, they had Bart, they had Kang.
05:45 But they didn't seem to have Marge.
05:47 Marge seems to be one that's the hardest to find.
05:49 I also went around to a couple of other online sites that are normally stocking the reaction figures.
05:53 And again it was the same thing.
05:55 They had Homer, they had Bart, they had Kang.
05:57 But they didn't have Marge.
05:59 Skeleton Marge though is one of the hardest actually to stand from this line.
06:03 Between her and Bart, her small feet are really the culprit.
06:07 Bart just happens to have again like slightly off-keltered legs that we'll talk more about in a moment.
06:11 The neat thing though about Marge is the fact that inside her ribcage you can see there's snowball too.
06:16 Tiny little snowball, you wouldn't be able to get snowball out contained inside the ribcage.
06:20 But that's a nice little fun additional nod to the original episode.
06:24 And it's a fun little way to include an accessory even though you can't really remove it.
06:27 Marge's face at least is human,
06:29 while the rest of the remains down below again is just all skeleton.
06:33 The face is sculpted really well.
06:34 The paint has been handled nicely here on the eyelashes.
06:36 The very shocked look on her face and the very long hair that Marge is always known for having.
06:41 Paint on these guys are really quite good.
06:43 Of course when it comes again to the body, she's going to be a little limited when it comes to the pose ability.
06:48 So it's only going to be really just the arms.
06:49 It's only really just going to be the legs.
06:51 But again I think the articulation is where it counts.
06:53 And I can't never really imagine that Super 7 would ever venture off to do an ultimate version of Skeletal Marge.
06:59 So while we are getting her in a slightly smaller release, we are at least getting a Skeletal Marge.
07:03 I really like the look of this one.
07:05 A little harder to stand just again because of the sizing of her feet.
07:07 I find also like this one leg is a little on the looser side.
07:10 But if you are looking to get this set for yourself,
07:12 it's probably either better to get the set as a whole than probably trying to track down Marge.
07:17 For some reason also I did say earlier that Marge was the hardest to find.
07:20 Marge also seemed the most expensive to find.
07:23 I was lucky enough again to get this entire set over on eBay.
07:26 Then on to Bart.
07:27 Bart is actually from one of my favorite episodes.
07:29 At the end of the episode, Bart wakes up.
07:31 And of course that smoke that's coming into the room that turns everybody inside out.
07:36 This is of course one of the Simpsons members with their skin turned inside out.
07:40 And they seem to have a dance number as well.
07:42 I think that's also one notable episode that has Willie being starring in all of them.
07:46 The Shining if memory serves me correctly.
07:48 Now Bart does have a removable hat.
07:50 So if you wanted to, you could take the hat off.
07:52 You can still then see all the veins that make up the front face, the back of the face.
07:56 Of course he does have the ribs and the bones sticking out from his body as well.
07:59 It's a really unsightly look to Bart Simpson.
08:02 Personally again, I would rather have him displayed with the hat myself.
08:05 He doesn't have though a cane.
08:06 I feel like in that episode, in that dance number, all the Simpsons members I think actually had canes.
08:11 Bart does not actually come included with one.
08:13 He is though small.
08:14 And even though he does have peg holes on the underside of his feet,
08:17 I would probably use a display stand I think really for Bart.
08:19 Because he has, of the four figures here, he has the hardest time it seems to stand.
08:25 I think it has something also to do with the fact that his feet aren't completely flat either.
08:29 But at least you can rotate these back and forth.
08:31 So his articulation is once again, his head is going to be just on a straight swivel.
08:35 His arms are going to swivel back and forth.
08:37 And of course you can do the same down below with the legs.
08:40 Really nice looking Bart Simpson.
08:42 And again, we'll put them right over there.
08:43 At the time of also doing this review, they have announced a couple of other reaction figures.
08:48 One of which actually being the Freddy Krueger release of Willy.
08:51 Which is kind of strange because I would hope that that one actually gets eventually an ultimate release.
08:56 And not only again just relegate it to reaction.
08:58 Then to the last figure, it's going to be Kang as Bob Dole.
09:02 Now picking up the figure of course, one of the other accessories that come included with this figure,
09:05 is the mask that he's wearing that actually is Bob Dole.
09:08 Bob Dole, Bob Dole.
09:09 And you can actually just take the mask and clip it into his hand.
09:12 So he's always carrying around the mask if he wants to.
09:15 Mask stays fairly well in place.
09:17 You can kind of move it around.
09:19 It's not going to fall out of place.
09:20 You can kind of see that would have been what Bob Dole's face would have looked like.
09:24 Really, really cool look.
09:26 And of course underneath that, not hiding at all the fact that he's an alien,
09:29 you've got the big giant eyeball of Kang.
09:31 Painted nicely again.
09:33 You've got the brighter green happening here.
09:34 You've got some nice spots printed on the back of the face.
09:36 One singular oculus eye.
09:39 And then down below he's got himself of course the suit that does say, "Vote for Dole."
09:43 Dole, Bob Dole.
09:45 Articulation again on this guy.
09:47 I'm just going to go ahead and remove his mask for right now.
09:49 It is still, even though he has the large head,
09:51 still you can manage to rotate the head all the way around.
09:54 You can rotate the arms back and forth as well.
09:56 Nothing again in the hands.
09:58 And again with reaction figures, usually it's only five points of articulation.
10:01 So the same rule applies again for Kang.
10:03 You can only rotate his head back and forth this way, his arms back and forth,
10:06 and again his legs back and forth.
10:08 A set for me at least, I don't mind the idea that I had to open.
10:11 Still though, I kind of wish in a way that Super 7 could incorporate more user-friendly packaging.
10:16 I'm just going to go ahead and get Bob Dole's mask in his hand.
10:18 Yeah, user-friendly packaging I think would be the ideal way to go.
10:22 Just again, because if you are somebody that likes to kind of keep the cards,
10:25 and really for the cards being as good as they are,
10:27 I mean like they kind of have a more retro kind of design to them,
10:30 which is what it looks like also in the back.
10:32 The back is kind of neat because it looks like an old newspaper or comic book article,
10:35 something you could clip out, send away for along with Sea Monkeys.
10:39 I like this.
10:40 I just kind of wish there was a way to kind of keep everything intact when it comes to the card.
10:44 For me at least, I don't mind because ultimately my whole plan in mind was anyways just to have these on display.
10:49 So you saw at the beginning of the review where I very so haphazardly just ripped away the packaging.
10:54 It was more just to the idea that I want to just have these guys on display every year for Halloween.
10:59 Now we are getting of course more of the reaction figures,
11:02 one of which being again the Willy one I'm really looking forward to getting.
11:05 And I think we're also getting as well Homer with the toupee.
11:08 The thing about it though is while I am wondering,
11:10 if we are getting those figures as say reaction figures,
11:13 does that then not mean we're going to be getting those as ultimate figures?
11:16 Because like toupee Homer for example and Willy as Freddy Krueger would be ones I definitely would like to get in a larger scale.
11:22 We already know we are getting Kang and Kodos.
11:24 We already know that we are going to be getting as well.
11:26 We are also getting as well, I just drew an absolute blank,
11:30 we're also getting as well Ned Flanders as the devil.
11:34 So those are ones I'm definitely looking forward to.
11:35 But I say more, more of these Super 7 Simpsons from the Treehouse of Horror.
11:40 Whether they are the smaller reaction figures like we are getting right here,
11:43 or whether they be the larger scale figures,
11:45 it's a good time to be a Halloween fan,
11:47 especially if you're one that likes to watch the Treehouse of Horror every single year.
11:51 So what's next for the Treehouse of Horror reaction figures from the next wave?
11:54 It seems to be the case that we're getting Witch's Coven Marge,
11:57 we're getting Freddy Krueger, Willy, we're getting toupee Homer,
12:00 and we're also getting Bart's evil twin.
12:02 I'm putting in quotation marks, Hugo.
12:04 Now unlike this line that we looked at,
12:06 where I don't feel necessarily disappointed that we're not getting these as ultimate figures,
12:10 I kind of feel it'll be the opposite way in what we're going to be getting with the next wave.
12:13 Witch's Coven Marge, maybe I could pass without.
12:15 But Freddy Krueger, Willy, toupee Homer, and even Hugo Bart,
12:19 those would all be ones I would love to get in Ultimate Treatment as well.
12:23 The Ultimate Treatment of course involves them on their end,
12:26 to be producing larger scale figures,
12:27 the cost of tooling would be a lot higher too,
12:29 because they'd have to make movable parts for those.
12:31 But that was a line that I really would have wanted more for Ultimate figures,
12:35 but I'm not disappointed at all that we got with this wave.
12:37 They're all kind of more kept to the smaller five point articulated reaction figures.
12:41 Of the ones that we looked at in this review,
12:43 I think my favorite is probably Grim Reaper Homer.
12:45 Bart's pretty cool too as well,
12:47 I actually ended up using a display stand,
12:49 just because especially with him holding the hat,
12:51 it makes the figure very top heavy,
12:53 and he's really prone to falling over.
12:55 You'll be happy to know as well that they're using the same diameter size pegs
12:58 as your standard display stand from other figure companies.
13:01 If you want to use a display stand to kind of keep Bart from falling over,
13:04 whether he has a skin or not, you can also use those as well.
13:07 All in all though, again, I really like the look of this set.
13:10 A little disappointed that I had to destroy the packaging in order to get the figures out,
13:14 but again, my biggest plan the whole time of doing this,
13:16 and even picking up this line was, I wanted to have them loose on my shelf.
13:19 I would have loved, ideally, if I would have been able to put them back in the packaging,
13:23 if ever the chance came down the road,
13:25 I wanted to change my mind and put them back in the cart,
13:27 because these would be the kind of figures that normally look good loose on the shelf,
13:30 but they also look equally good inside the packaging mounted on my wall.
13:34 What do you guys think of the reaction line of Super 7 Treehouse of Horror Simpsons figures?
13:38 Have you been collecting this line, or is this something that you guys could see yourselves interested in?
13:42 Also as well, let me know what other Simpsons Treehouse of Horror characters you'd like to see Super 7 release in,
13:47 whether it be the Ultimates line, or whether it's going to be in the reaction line.
13:51 Again, we are still going to be getting ourselves the Willy as the Devil,
13:55 and we're also going to be getting Kang and Kodos.
13:57 I don't think it's the next wave, maybe it's the wave right after that,
14:00 but that's definitely those figures, those are the ones I'm really looking forward to getting.
14:04 I have kind of felt that they've been hit or miss with the first wave that we got.
14:08 Mo being really one of my favorites, Space Homer sort of seemed questionable
14:11 as to why we would have got Space Homer as an Ultimates release,
14:14 but I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what Super 7 have in store for Simpsons fans,
14:18 moving forward, both again, the reaction line and the Ultimates line.
14:21 If you guys enjoyed this video, I want to hit it with a like.
14:23 If you guys are loving the content you guys are seeing during the month of Spot-tober,
14:27 and you can't wait to see more, if you haven't already done so,
14:30 make sure you hit that subscribe button down below, and you're turning on the bell notification.
14:33 Popping up also at the very end of this video, if you have a little bit of time on your hands,
14:37 there will also be a playlist of other things I've looked at from Super 7.
14:41 Keep screaming your way until we have the next review popping up here on this channel,
14:44 and of course, as always guys, thanks for watching. See you guys next time.
