00:00 We're here at the Google for India event here in New Delhi.
00:03 This is Google's flagship event meant for users and developers as well.
00:08 The headline announcement obviously was the fact that Pixel 8 will now be manufactured
00:14 in India.
00:15 This is Google's latest phone and Google intends to put these out, manufacture these in India
00:21 with domestic and international partners and the first phones from this range will be out
00:27 in the market in 2024.
00:29 That was obviously the headline announcement but the other buzzword that the Google for
00:33 India event saw a lot was Generative AI.
00:37 Now corresponding to that, there was a lot of initiatives that Google put out for businesses
00:43 as well to integrate Generative AI into their famous Google search.
00:47 A bit on that is that there's two products.
00:51 There's the Business Messages product and the Google Merchant Center Next.
00:55 Both of them enable users to converse with businesses at the search stage of the product
01:01 itself.
01:02 Apart from that, there was another interesting tie-up between Google Cloud and ONDC.
01:07 Now in this partnership, what will happen is that ONDC will now collaborate with FPOs
01:14 which are Farmers Producers Organizations to put their catalogs on Google.
01:19 So now they can also act as SMBs and with the help of Generative AI, they can generate
01:24 catalogs that a lot of these users and businesses can buy directly from farmers.
01:30 Another very interesting area of focus was financial fraud.
01:34 Both Google Pay and Google Play both will now be enabled with real-time code level scanning.
01:40 So that would mean that Google is now doing a lot more to protect people from financial
01:45 fraud such as, I mean, there's a lot of scamsters that are roaming around on Google Play and
01:50 Google Pay apps.
01:52 Another interesting bit was that Google Pay will also roll out five credit initiatives.
01:58 The details of which are, there'll be a credit line that will be enabled on RuPay as well
02:03 as UPA.
02:04 This will be done in partnership with HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank.
02:09 Personal loans will now be enabled on Google Pay itself with Axis Bank and DMI Finance.
02:15 On the merchant side, business loans via DMI Finance and ICICI Bank and Indify are to be
02:20 launched.
02:21 Sashay loans are also being introduced to Google Pay now.
02:26 These are loans that will start from as low as 15,000 rupees.
02:29 This will be done in partnership with DMI Finance.
02:33 Another merchant credit line will also now be unveiled in partnership with another startup
02:37 called ePay Later.
