00:02 >> Rick, as we keep it moving here, speaking of football,
00:06 some announcements made official by the IOC for
00:09 the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
00:12 Some new sports introduced, the return of baseball,
00:16 lacrosse makes its way back in.
00:18 But it's highlighted by flag football in 2028.
00:21 In the NFL, Rick has said, player interest is very high.
00:24 They are not only going to allow, but actively encourage active or
00:29 former National Football League players to take part in Team USA's bid for
00:34 the first flag football gold medal.
00:38 Rick, do you think NFL players will actually play in the Olympics come 2028?
00:43 >> First of all, it's brilliant.
00:44 Second of all, there's gonna be a lot of discussion now with teams
00:48 whose players are ripe to play.
00:50 Like so if Tyreek Hill is under contract in 2028,
00:53 which I don't know if the extension happens.
00:56 If I'm Steve Ross at the Dolphins, do I let him play?
00:59 Well, he'll wanna play, but what does an injury mean?
01:02 It's the same debate that the NBA and NHL players had years ago.
01:08 But now flag football, there are over 70 countries that play.
01:11 So it's not as if it's an NFL created experience.
01:15 It's a brilliant move.
01:17 They've had a flag football program for a number of years, and
01:20 this is the next step.
01:22 The bottom line is that it's a wonderful idea to have as many different sports as
01:27 you can.
01:28 And our favorite pundit that I'm on with the beginning of the week,
01:31 it rhymes with Scott Norell, who says, I shouldn't approve any sport I don't know.
01:36 If that's the case, there'd be no sports in the Olympics.
