Thief Fails to Thwart Police By Posing as a Mannequin in Store Window

In Warsaw, Poland a man has been accused of shoplifting and then trying to evade detection by posing as a mannequin. Veuer has more.

00:10 managed to get into a closed shopping center,

00:12 then froze with the bag in his hand

00:14 in front of a store window

00:15 to avoid being exposed by the cameras.

00:18 Of course, that didn't work.

00:19 You see him here being carried off by police.

00:22 He's accused on one occasion of stealing jewelry.

00:25 On another, he ate at a restaurant,

00:26 then slipped under this iron curtain

00:28 to find some new clothes to try on,

00:31 then going back for more food.

00:33 Police say the man has stolen from another shopping center

00:35 where he allegedly took money from cash registers

00:38 and tried to steal other items while closed.

00:41 He now faces up to 10 years in prison.
