00:00 or one American child, or one American trafficker.
00:02 For what reason DC would let you within a million miles
00:05 of this--
00:06 Clamor shots at Miss Cartagena don't count.
00:08 She has the girl.
00:10 And I say the girl's in Russia.
00:11 Prove me wrong.
00:12 It's over, Tim.
00:21 Close up.
00:24 Get on the plane and--
00:26 and come back home.
00:27 [BIRDS CHIRPING]
00:30 Bureaucracy is shit.
00:37 This is why I operate black.
00:43 Have a nice flight, Timothee.
00:54 You too.
00:55 You were a cartel guy.
01:00 Yeah?
01:01 Kept your mouth shut, did your time.
01:07 Could have picked up where you left off.
01:11 Bought yourself a condo on the beach.
01:12 Instead, you're doing this.
01:18 Why?
01:19 Really?
01:20 [SIGHS]
01:24 I had that condo on the beach.
01:46 15th floor, marble everything, overlooking the whole bay.
01:52 First night out of jail, I slept in my own bed.
01:56 Day two, I was back in business.
01:59 Same old life.
02:01 But it-- it doesn't feel right.
02:05 Not the drugs, not the hookers.
02:07 But damn it if I didn't keep trying.
02:09 [LAUGHS]
02:12 [SIGHS]
02:14 So one night, I'm leaving a bar all jacked up on coca.
02:21 And I notice this young girl on the corner,
02:26 fine looking, maybe 20, 25.
02:30 Take her up to my place.
02:31 We do the deed, pay the bill.
02:34 She's putting on her shoes.
02:36 And I notice something.
02:40 I notice her foot.
02:44 She's got these little pink cat faces
02:48 painted on her toenails.
02:52 And it hit me.
02:54 She's not 25.
02:55 And she glances up, and her eyes connect.
03:03 And it was like I was granted a glimpse into her soul.
03:12 And all I saw was sadness.
03:15 I don't know where she starts talking.
03:21 Turns out she's not 25, not even 20.
03:26 This girl is 14 years old to Mateo.
03:31 She's been doing it since she was six.
03:33 Looks at me, smiles, takes the money, walks out the door.
03:41 [MUSIC PLAYING]
03:45 All of a sudden, I'm hit by this tidal wave,
03:58 this tsunami of darkness.
04:02 And I know I'm the sadness in her eyes.
04:06 Me, I'm the darkness.
04:09 [MUSIC PLAYING]
04:12 And I know the darkness has to die.
04:18 [MUSIC PLAYING]
04:22 So I get my .45, put it to my head,
04:36 put my finger on the trigger.
04:38 Now, if there is a time to ask if God exists,
04:46 that would be it.
04:47 [MUSIC PLAYING]
04:59 So I did.
05:03 When God tells you what to do, you cannot hesitate.

05:14 [VIDEO PLAYBACK]
05:15 - An estimated 2 million children
05:17 are trafficked every year, and we can help them.
05:20 Sound of Freedom is based on a true story
05:22 about real-life heroes saving kids from the dark world
05:25 of child trafficking.
05:27 We know this is heartbreaking, and it hurts to look at.
05:30 But the first step in helping these children
05:32 is hearing their story.
05:33 Not enough people know this problem exists,
05:36 and even fewer people are willing to do
05:38 anything about it.
05:40 Our goal is to inspire 2 million people
05:42 to attend the film's opening weekend,
05:45 to represent the 2 million trafficked
05:47 children around the world.
05:49 To spread the word, Angel Studios
05:51 set up a Pay It Forward program, where
05:53 you can pay for someone else's ticket who
05:56 might not otherwise see it.
05:58 If the ticket price is stopping you from attending,
06:01 claim your free ticket at angel.com/freedom.
06:05 Sound of Freedom opens the week of July 4.
06:08 Every parent, every adult, and every teenager in America
06:12 should be there to see it.
06:13 If millions of us come together today to see this film,
06:17 we could propel the movement to help save millions of children
06:21 around the world.
06:22 And you can send the message that God's children
06:25 are no longer for sale.
