00:14 Jared Goff is playing the best football of his career.

00:17 What has it meant for the Detroit Lions?

00:19 Oh my gosh, it's meant the world.

00:21 I mean, it's been an immense impact.

00:23 You look at his team, they're 4-1 for five weeks.

00:27 They haven't been 4-1 since 1991.

00:30 I wasn't born then, John, okay?

00:31 I know you were. You're an old man.

00:33 I wasn't born. I was born in '93.

00:36 So Goff has these Lions up to this great start.

00:38 Now they were 5-0 in 2011.

00:40 But once again, last 4-1 start ahead of the season was 1991.

00:44 That's a long, long time ago.

00:45 And Jared Goff, to me, is a supremely talented, capable leader.

00:51 And this team around him, the coaching staff, his teammates,

00:54 have a supreme level of confidence, I believe, right now in their veteran signal caller.

00:59 They have all the faith in the world and his capabilities to lead this offense

01:02 down the field, game in, game out, to touchdowns and to victories.

01:07 And thus far, he's been pretty darn good on the field with his arm, his play as well.

01:12 You look at his numbers.

01:14 Nine touchdowns, only three picks, just through three touchdowns,

01:18 no INTs against the Panthers on Sunday.

01:21 He's completing nearly 70% of his passes at 69.8%.

01:25 The best of his career as well, John.

01:28 Also is QBR's fifth best in the league currently at 71, according to ESPN's QBR staff.

01:35 This guy has been immensely, really, you could say superb thus far this season.

01:40 And if he keeps up this, this play at this rate, John,

01:44 well, all bets are off for how many wins the Lions could really achieve in 2023.

01:50 To start the year, I said 10 and 7.

01:52 Now you look at their start and his start, the offense's start.

01:55 I mean, they're a completely high functioning offense right now.

02:00 And because of that, along with their defense, you can argue they're gonna win 12

02:03 games, maybe more if you're really drinking that Honolulu Blue Kool-Aid.

02:08 But anyways, Gough, he has been immensely great.

02:12 Better than I think anybody almost could have expected going into this season.

02:19 he's really taken off with some really, really good play.

02:23 And he is a major, major reason right now why the Lions are off to this great,
